Oh, that's pretty rubbish of them Sad

wicked I just pat in the product and move onto the next step.

I was looking at Secret Key Snail repair + egf emulsion reviews thinking it might make a nice, lighter weight moisturiser but reviews of that and other things in the line are not great so will be looking elsewhere I think.

wickedfairy · 16/07/2015 21:10

Lucysmam, that's good to know and that's also what I do!Smile

GrimDamnFanjo · 16/07/2015 21:21

My missha.de finally turned up today after being posted on 23 June!

I bought the Sum rose cleanser stick last week from Amazon and I love it!

My issue at the moment is that I seem to have a growing collection of cream/essence/serum samples and need to be able to test them but need to develop a routine that works for me.

lucysmam · 16/07/2015 21:28

Any of you using an emulsion you really like?

wicked I'll sometimes spread it out over the evening too but generally one layer follows the other.

lucysmam · 16/07/2015 21:33

Also; do any of you know of anything similar in texture to, but cheaper than, the Hada Labo lotion toner that I could use for diy sheet masks?

Last one for tonight - promise!

What's everyone's favourite sheet mask so far? Just one each...I'm looking for new ones to order to try out Smile

daftyburd · 16/07/2015 21:55

I have an announcement. For the last two days I have went to work...(drum roll)...without concealer! Nobody else in interested so I thought I would post it here. I use dermablend concealer but I actually have no spots and the old scars have faded. A light brush with Lily Lolo foundation was all I needed.

Also tonight I tried a sample of Tony Moly Floria peeling gel. I have my doubts that all the stuff that came off was dead skin. It felt rubbery but was grossly satisfying.

NewsreaderChic · 16/07/2015 22:05

WooHoo Dafty that's worth celebrating, it's a great feeling isn't it?

I agree about peeling gels, it's surely not all dead skin, but sooo satisfying.

I've had a few new masks arrive recently Lucysmam including some obscure ones that cost £1.20 for 3! However Dh has been abroad since Sunday and just got back this evening so I'm catching up rather than looking like a serial killer tonight. Will report back though.

Sloachie · 16/07/2015 22:12

Daftyburd I almost did the same today too!! Did have to use some concealer under my eyes though as the dark shadows seem to be getting worse?!

So, I have been using the CosRX Whitehead Power for a few weeks now and have used the Blackhead Power a few time now too. Not using every night, but OMG what a difference to my skin! I am so pleased.

Normally at this time of the month I have some sort of hormonal breakout but NOTHING at all this month. Not one spot. So happy.

I've just been using up my existing facial oil and Aldi serum after and they seem to be working better now too. Particularly the oil.

I need to stop touching my face - it feels so good though!!!

Sloachie · 16/07/2015 22:15

Also Lucysman - you mentioned ages ago about cheap sheet masks in Savers and I tried one last night. Quite liked it - skin felt really soft after. Not sure how long lasting the effects were but good for 79p!!

Going to order some AB masks now...,

Sloachie · 16/07/2015 22:17

Ffs I did of course mean Lucysmam Blush

ilovetosleep · 16/07/2015 22:26

Wow dafty that's amazing! I wish I could do that but my dark circles are too bad. Like sloachie mine seem to be worse but I imagine it's all the SPF and niacinimide just making me look paler than usual.

lucy My favourite sheet mask so far is either rose or manuka honey innisfree. Just got sucked into rrs sale and got the longer name ampoule as nearly finished my samples. Might have sneaked in a load of sheet masks too :)

Benton update : really loving the essence but suspect the steam cream is clogging me up. Do t know why I think it's that not the essence but it just seems a bit cluggy! I have tiny little pin prick bumps on my forehead which I guess are blocked pores/ beginnings of pimples. I'm sure they wouldn't be there if I was using acids regularly but I'd still rather not stick with a cream that might be doing that. And I think prefer my Cerave PM as a moisturiser anyway. Maybe I'll revisit the steam cream in the winter. I want to love it! I have a few cosrx snail cream sample to try as my next moisturiser, either that or the starfish cream.

Phantomquartz · 16/07/2015 22:57

lucysmam try the bubble de mask - it isn't a sheet mask but you can really see the effects the next day.

ilovetosleep have a go at fiftyshadesofsnail's method of shrinking pores here it is quite satisfying to see a result.

How are you all organising your samples? I've bought a few packets of 10 samples to try and I need a way of organising everything.

daftyburd · 16/07/2015 22:58

Dark circles not been an issue for me ever. I tend towards puffy eyes and bags under them. I have big, round googly eyes and even had bags as a baby. Everyone on my mum's side has them. Even DD and my nieces and nephews have them. A quick smear of benefit fake up if I'm going out does me.
I use concealer on spots and red patches. Dermablend and sometimes NYX green concealer if really red. That's on top of Lily Lolo green blush away and either a foundation or Asian BB cream. I couldn't use powder mineral foundation as it clung to dry patches of scanning spots and retin A flakes. It's a high maintenance look and I need to reapply a lot. It's so amazing to just have smooth spot free skin again. I put the mineral foundation on at 7 am and I didn't need to reapply once at work.
I have just realised how much my bad skin had knocked my confidence. I read posters who say the love to double cleanse as soon as they get in from work. I couldn't as I was so self conscious about my face. If my skin gets that bad again I will go to the GP. I just can't do another year of feeling like that.

GrinAndTonic · 16/07/2015 23:01

And the purge has started. Well I think it's a purge. I've just woken up to a face full of pimples in places I don't usually get them (I only get hormonal ones on my jaw line). Reddit says it's quite normal. Anyone else have this?

Phantomquartz · 16/07/2015 23:02

Re moisturisers - this fits your description lucysmam. I've been eyeing it for ages.

Actually snow-whiteandthepear's latest blog post has a links to different bloggers' routines by skin type. It's really helpful.

GrinAndTonic · 16/07/2015 23:05

And i just went over orders from testerkorea and the roseroseshop and I have bought the mizon all in one cream and a goats milk emulsion. Snail and goat together?

I've ordered from RRS on eBay a few times and have yet to get a sample.

lucysmam · 17/07/2015 08:00

I was fancying a bubble mask - will look for samples when I get in and pop some Innisfree masks in my basket too.

lucysmam · 17/07/2015 08:02

Sloachie, they're not bad are they? Those and my diy ones mean I can sheet mask more often than if they were all AB ones Smile

lucysmam · 17/07/2015 08:07

Phantom, I looked at that cream ages ago! It was over £20 at the time though...seriously tempted now Grin

I haven't read anyone's blog posts for a while, I shall take a look later on and see what gems I can find in there.

I'm trying so hard to spend money & am failing Hmm I ordered all sorts last night & spent just under £25! BUT it's all stuff that I've carefully researched or need to top up (sheet mask tablets) so has been spent carefully.

FrugalFashionista · 17/07/2015 08:55

Dafty congrats that's a major step!!! So happy for you!

I took a bus across the city barefaced this morning! Half asleep last night, I used AHA pads, slapped on snail bee, eye serum and red wine and they do make a huge difference! I've worn a full face of makeup for most of my life since I was seventeen... But despite a couple of minor breakouts I'm so happy with my face - PIH has faded, I have a glow and with proper hydration my skin feels so smooth. And I no longer seem to get cysts that fester for ages!

Wicked I'll do some mailing soon!

ilovetosleep · 17/07/2015 09:22

lucys I don't know if the consistency is different from the other Hada labo but holy snails recommends Hada Labo Shirojyun Arbutin Lotion as perfect for diy sheet masks, and it has lightening/brightening properties so might be worth a look.

ilovetosleep · 17/07/2015 09:28

I have another question Confused

Lots of you talk about waking up to baby soft glowy skin. Usually when I wake up my face is a bit sticky and covered increases from my pillow. These take less time to fade these days whic must be a sign I'm doing something right, but why the film on my skin? It's there whatever products I use. Am I using too much? My skin doesn't seem oily through r the day but make up doesn't last that long. It could be sweat I guess ( am up with 15mo Ds2 all night which stresses me out so I probably am a bit sweaty plus bf so hormonally might be a bit prone to night sweats!)

But anyway I look fat from great in the morning. Ins say my face looks it's best in the evening a few hours after cleansing and after the first couple of products have soaked in.

lucysmam · 17/07/2015 09:32

Yay! snail gel and Innisfree no sebum powder are here Grin I shall test the powder out very soon as I'm just about to sort myself out to go to town.

Have ordered Manuka Honey masks from Innisfree. Does anyone have the Bija ones? They sound interesting so will read up on those later on.
