Lucysmam DDs have started school here and everything seems to be going really well (knock on wood). I have a real office job now so life feels much busier. Plus we've spent a lot of time outdoors, I actually have a light tan

You reminded me that I have a few lip glosses that I should wear more often Wink

Going to bed early so starting a new thread!

What's their acid exfoliant brittany?

I seem to recall serzoic? being mentioned a while ago but my memory is shocking so am probably remembering the wrong thing!

oh! I have been randomly posting photo's on instagram to #rasianbeauty & a few other #'s, never had a comment before but someone just asked about the dragon blood essence! I'm scared of it now Grin I just figured I'd use it as a sort of scrapbook thingy & paid no attention to the likes or anything Blush

Found you all at last, I've been away for most of the summer in Turkey but sadly am back home in the rain now.

I took loads of bottles of products with me on holiday and managed to use them all up, so I've had to try and do a bit of a restock now I'm home, so just waiting for the deliveries to start arriving from Korea. I had to be careful not to spend too much money, so just bought the essentials for the time being.

I think Lucysmam you mentioned the effaclar by LRP, I've been using their acid exfoliant and really like it. I have large pores, but they're nice and clear and my skin is in great condition even after spending seven weeks in and out of the sea and swimming pools - some days I could feel my skin tightening up and drying out.

I also took a Missha pomegranate sleeping mask away with me, it was only a cheapie but it was so lovely, I could feel my skin relaxing and cooling when I put it on every night. When I came home I had a bit of a makeover by the Bobbi Brown counter in the airport and the makeup lady told me I have lovely skin. I can only think it's my snail gel and other potions that have done the trick.

I'm looking forward to my white wine sleeping mask that sounds like fun.

So nice to be back amongst you all.

Scrambled, I hope everything goes well with your move! The enzyme wash sounds interesting, will have a proper read of blog posts about it when I eventually get the girls to bed.

Frugal, I'm more of a gloss girl usually, I have been working my way through my stash of those veeeeeerrrrryyy slowly. Half my problem is remembering to re-apply! But, I remembered balm regularly today so that's a start.

Having said that, I did go hunting for some £1 lipsticks that were recommended on here last weekend but came home empty handed Sad

Are you all settled in now? And your girls enjoying their new home? Smile

I've just had a lovely shower & the tint has almost washed away, there is the slightest hint still on my lips but I think that'll fade away by bed time. Not bad at all for 99p - I'm off to order a few more shortly in different colours to play with Grin

That sounds pretty impressive for 99c Lucysmam! I've resisted lip tints as I am trying to use up my lipstick stash. Am actually hoping to finish another this year Wink

Scrambled sending you lots of energy. It's chaotic now but you'll get your life back soon! We are about one month post move and it's all good now.

Do you think we are ready for a shiny new thread?

Uff, what a trip! We left soft play at 3:30, had a quick nip in TK Maxx & then waited until 5:15 for a bus to town & that took an hour into town At least the girls are tired tonight Grin

Anywho, the point of my post is...I'm actually quite impressed with my 99p lip tint. It's very thick to apply and quite difficult - it doesn't go on like normal gloss does.

The one I ordered is called Watermelon & actually does smell like artificial watermelom!

It takes a good ten ish minutes to dry properly, I tried it at 9am when it dropped through the door but only left it a minute or so before wiping off to get a wash & brush my teeth. It did stain a little then but was hard to get off. Once dried properly, it's easy to get a corner to roll up a bit to remove.

I've been out almost 8 hours & the colour is still good, it's fading in some places but that's ok for me, I've usually been in the shower by now or am on my way up for one.

One thing - I did leave a pinkish tinge on my coffee cup at softplay but that may have been the sparkly lip crayon balm I was using on top so I will try just vaseline or a colourless balm tomorrow and see how it does then Smile

Ah, we're back

Glad you got your parcel, m0gz! Hope you find something you like amongst the samples.

I've been using the Tosowoong powder enzyme wash for the last week and really like it. I was very surprised to discover that it contains SLS because it's not drying in the slightest. My skin is clearing up beautifully despite this being moving week and us only exchanging yesterday Confused. I am stressed to the eyeballs and yet my skin is looking better than it has for months. Might be the b vitamins and fish oils too, but the dramatic change has only occurred since the powder wash.

Fifty shades of snail has a very comprehensive review of it at the moment so I'll leave it to her for the ins and outs.

I have nothing to add but just posting to say how much I enjoy being able to read this thread...

Mogz I've had similar problems, I have used a throwaway email account for my MN profile and deleting and resetting via an email account that you can no longer access can be really problematic (I deregistered my old profile).

Have also realized how much I love MN Flowers We need new emoticons...

The effaclar duo is a cream and its very good. My morning routine is wash face with cetaphil, use a clearasil pad, wait as long as possible to apply superdrug serum, wait til that is absorbed, apply effaclar duo and wait as long as possible before applying snail gel and then sunscreen.

I may need to tweek this routine soon as I am back to work :( its been great taking my time between steps in the holidays but I can't take several hours doing skincare before I leave the house anymore Grin

The aha/bha is the ph adjusting step. The mizon 8% aha gets really good reviews though. & COSRX bha seems to be most favourably reviewed.

The Benton is praised as a hydrating toner for oilier/acne prone skins, rather than as an active step, so I may try it in place of my Hada Labo instead of as an actual active (sometime next year when the HL runs low Grin ).

I haven't looked at CeraVe m0gz, will look up on the laptop later on. I did just look up LRP effeclar duo though, is it a cream rather than toning pad?

The lip tint is lasting really well, I didn't expect much for 99p but I'm happy with it.

I've just wiki-d the hibiscrub after reading your comment m0gz, & have to say it sounds really quite harsh derek! The chemical is used as a preservative in cosmetics, an additive in eyedrops drops and an active in mouthwash.Shock I'm no scientist & don't understand half of it but after reading that, I think something milder would be a very good idea.

Finally got back on mn. Have had huge problems with passwords, emails and all sorts. I did debate not coming back but I would miss this thread too much.

Massive thank you to Scrambled. The package arrived this morning (checked the envelope for jewels before binning it Grin) Really overwhelmed with the extras you put in. Will post if when my tk order arrives and if there is anything you fancy I will happily post you something in return :)

I'm super jealous of your lip tint arriving Lucysmam. Will post a review if mine comes. You mentioned products with niacinamide in. Have you tried any of the cerave products? I'm using the face wash as the second cleanse in the evening. I was aso interested in the cosrx / clearasil discussion and I'm sure I read somewhere that the mizon aha bha toner was being stocked again. (I know I looked at this before but I can't remember if the reviews favoured the mizon or the cosrx Blush)

Derek I previously used hibiscrub to target the awful breakouts I was having on my chin. I would say to be careful with it as after a while I found my skin just couldn't tolerate it.

The chin breakouts I am having are definitely hormonal so I don't think any topical product I am using is going to stop them (the routine I'm using now definitely quickens the heeling time). Has anyone tried any supplements etc to help with hormonal spots?

Wait 20 mins ish after using the clearasil pads to give the salicylic acid chance to work.

Not sure about after the retin-a or Duac.

Other than that, I just wait long enough for each layer to feel like it has sunk into my skin rather than a proper wait if that makes sense?

Report
lucysmam · 24/08/2015 12:34

A good 'rule' to follow is thinnest to thickest so, since that snail cream is quite light and gel-ish texture wise, I'd put it before rather than after your current moisturiser & ignore what I said about it sealing in the other layers - it feels different (less thick gel) to the Mizon snail gel cream I'm currently using as a last layer.

Aaah, I didn't know that! In that case, I'd still maybe drop it in the morning but keep it in the evening as a second cleanse.

I have that snail cream - I've been using it as an eye cream & it seems to be working well.

Hibi scrub is not an exfoliating scrub, don't laugh but it's an antiseptic wash

great for acne

cheapest snail cream [[http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nature-Snail-Face-Cream-Moisturizing-Anti-Aging-Cream-Care-Acne-Anti-Wrinkle-A77-/201359370322?hash=item2ee1f42852]

Thanks for the order, I would have probably put the snail cream in totally the wrong place!!
