Loving instagram today watermelon cleansing foam. Unfortunately super high ph 9.5-10 or I could have been persuaded Grin

ScrambledSmegs · 08/07/2015 22:19

Ah, now I don't really like any of those brands per se - maybe one or two good products each but you have to sift through so much dross. Good, I'll trust my instincts, thank you!

Kiko looks good though, there's one on Regents Street so I may have to do lunch with DH next week and fit in a quick reccy.

I did a big clearout today, filled several bin bags with plastic tat and half-used art crap (kids, huh Hmm) along with old clothes. I still have more to do Shock The house feels nicer already, more airy somehow, which is lovely.

ilovetosleep · 08/07/2015 22:25

Evening all. Think I might order tha hada labo cleansing foam as reviews seem pretty awesome and I need a new second cleanser.

I just used Benton snail bee essence for the first time. Frugal and any one else who has used it how much did you use? I didn't feel like it went very far. I only have two tiny sample bottles and I can't see them lasting very long! It all sank in immediately , I put it on after double cleansing then my hada labo, and I followed it with missha long name and Cerave. Stupidly I forgot I have steam cream testers too to use along side the essence but I forgot and went and slapped on the cerave. Must remember tomorrow or else all the essence will be gone by the time I get to the steam cream! big Button I can't remember but is it you that ordered benton snail bee samples? How did you get the essence out? I don't want to waste any but can't seem to get much out without shaking really hard!

Discovered this marvellous contraceptive contraption whilst browsing on eBay...

Bargainous too! Grin

lucysmam · 08/07/2015 22:40

ilove, what you need is a skinny spatula of some sort! I have seen them but can't remember the name so will google tomorrow. A hoof stick or orange stick might do the job maybe?

FrugalFashionista · 08/07/2015 22:48

Skinny spatulas - I'd love to have one.

OP posts:
ilovetosleep · 08/07/2015 22:55

I want one of those!

I'm super paranoid now about the benton stuff. I planned to patch test and forgot to do that too (so so tired) and I jut read that the 50shades of snail lady has stopped using it as she's sick of being so paranoid about it going off. I'll see if it is magical cure all serum and if not I won't order a full size. Does anyone know if it is just the essence that is risky or the whole line?
Also I think I should have held off a few days before starting it. I have been using long name ampoule for about a week now but maybe I should have waited anothe week before trying something new in case I do react. Oh and also I tried my nip&fab glycolic earlier in the week too, that was a bit silly as well. I'm so crap at restraining myself, and I'm so sleep deprived I forget what I'm doing as where I'm at with things. Fingers crossed I don't react to any of it!

FrugalFashionista · 08/07/2015 23:15

Sleep my fingers are crossed for you, just keep the Benton in the fridge! Mine was totally fine, and hasn't irritated me on the second day of it There were a couple of different Benton products that people had problems it but when a lemming like that hits, inevitably it won't work for someone. Benton was last year's CosRx Wink

I've got some black muji cotton buds for spatula use, ilove, which are actually a lot better than they sound. They've got an anti-bac coating, very tightly bound so they don't shed in the pot and they don't absorb product unless it's very liquid.

I want some skinny spatulas but they're ££ Shock

Sailorpiku · 08/07/2015 23:42

FrugalFashionista The cat palette is sooooooo cute! Should consider getting this when this I shop with them next time. You should check out their goody bags - last time I was lucky and got a 3CE lipstick that is worth much more than £6!! Smile

I've just seen this thread and am inspired, plan to read on plane as off to KL - can I ask if anyone can make recommendations on products to buy when I arrive for me and my DD (aged 15 and some acne on forehead?) I'm more concerned with sun screen and preventing wrinkles (fighting battle!), DD make up removal and gentle products for fighting spots. I'm sure will be like Alladin's cave!

bigbuttons · 09/07/2015 06:46

Ilove no, I got a whole bottle, sorry!

All the links look gorgeous, but I only looking for the briefest second ( no buying allowed!)

I have a couple of lovely holika eyeliners, well they were" lovely when they first arrived, now they are really hard and I can't get them to work, plus I can't work out how to sharpen them. The plastic coating doesn't seem to have have a way to twist the pencil up.

I have been experimenting with lip tint oils too. They give a nice natural stain on the lips. I am not much good with proper lipstick!

bigbuttons · 09/07/2015 06:48

also I have the time treasure eye cream from sulwhasoo, got it from ebay.Smile

FrugalFashionista · 09/07/2015 07:26

Cardi iirc Mowglik here was to KL recently??? I'd look for hydrocolloid acne patches, Biore and Hada Labo sunscreens, Hada Labo cleansers and lotions, lots of sheet masks (My Beauty Diary, My Scheming, Innisfree) and perhaps some Asian creams. Plus some novelty makeup! The La Roche Posay Effaclar stuff you can buy in Europe is probably the easiest acne prevention alternative.

Buttons like the sound of your lip tint. Sorry about the Holika eyeliners, I once had a non-AB plastic one that I could not figure out how it was supposed to be sharpened. Oh and the Sulwhasoo sounds lush...

I knew I'd seen those spatulas somewhere! Thanks for linking Frugal Smile

I am in lurve....with the hada labo lotion! It's lovely & I feel so soft. Off for a look in the mirror to see if I look soft itswim before heading to dd1's hospital appointment Grin

lucysmam · 09/07/2015 08:32

bigbuttons, are you maybe supposed to sharpen the plastic?

proteins · 09/07/2015 08:49

Hello cardicollection

The big pharmacies like Watson and Guardian will have Hada Labo products (cleansers, hydrating toners and sunscreens) as well as Biore sunscreens. Also sheet masks from brands like My Beauty Diary.

I was surprised also that I could buy Retin-A over the counter at Guardian, I had to order over the internet here. Was cheaper too!

Enjoy!

lucysmam · 09/07/2015 09:02

bigbuttons, are they these ones?

That says sharpen with a regular sharpener Smile

goodasitgets · 09/07/2015 09:03

I want my BB cream to come! Run out of the sample and mourning now Grin

FrugalFashionista · 09/07/2015 09:15

Okay, I am promising I won't be back here until I have sorted through my perfume collection, nightstand, and the top and bottom shelf of my wardrome. Yesterday's beauty clearout was massively satisfying, I have finally a fairly precise idea about how many products I have and in what order to use them up. When I get to the new address, I will buy some organizers or look into having an Ikea wall cupboard installed.

Of and I found a lovely black silk cheongsam beautifully embroidered with cherry flowers that I purchased from a department store in Hong Kong years ago. I aired it thoroughly in the strong Italian sunshine, the smell of damp disappeared totally, and I have a feeling I will wear it a lot!

Sorry about sloppy typing, in a rush, need to go and buy more bin, iners!

OP posts:
ScrambledSmegs · 09/07/2015 10:48

I've got a big pile of clothes to sort out, Frugal. I did some yesterday but today is operation Chuck It Out. I doubt I will find anything as lovely as your cheongsam at the bottom of my wardrobe sadly - and even if I did, it wouldn't fit anymore Sad

I used the Retin-A again last night and slathered over lots of moisturising layers after using it (REN Evercalm is perfect here, I know it's not AB but REN products for delicate skin are wonderful). My skin is very soft today and no peeling.

Just a quick question re: the Retin-A - I make sure I leave a good 20 minutes after washing my face before applying it. How long should I leave it after using before I apply other products? I've been leaving about 10 minutes but not sure if it's the same principle as acids.

FrugalFashionista · 09/07/2015 11:28

Scrambled Skin&Tonics recommended an hour iirc!

I am making great progress. Three really scary drawers sorted through and organized, very happy. The fun part was that I packed my Korean stuff. Amazingly enough it all still fits in the original Missha box!

I also found a couple of really good graphite gray and bitter chocolate brown twist-up eyeliner pencils under the layers of debris. Great as I had just considered buying something similar. Now I can focus on using them up instead!

I tried some of the L'Erbolario stuff and yuk, it pilled on my legs and smells stale Very few cosmetic products have gone stale in my hoard, every single one that is off has been natural oil based. Oils that don't have good preservatives go off quickly ime, in about a year, quicker if it's hot, so please don't hoard oil-based products or consider keeping them in the fridge if temperatures soar! All my lipsticks are in the fridge now. They are pretty resilient but they can easily bend and break when tempertures soar.

You're all super productive today! We're just having lunch before heading to school for the afternoon. Dd's consultant is having a letter sent to school to draw up a 'care plan' type thing so hopefully she'll not miss any more school when they go back.

I have a lovely list 'to do' over the next few days - make a Jolly Roger being at the top Confused
