Going grey in my 30s - keep dyeing it or embrace the silver fox?

I have been dyeing my hair brown since I started going grey my early 20s. I'm now mid-30s, and have left it to grow a little to see what it's like.

It's pure steely grey, almost white in some places. Obviously it looks awful as I have a 2 inch grey strip in my light brown hair. My hair is fine, straight and cut into a mid length bob.

I can't decide whether to let it grow out, or to keep dyeing it. I've asked everyone for their opinion and the verdict is split. Some say I'm too young to go grey, others say go for it!

After much pondering I'm wondering whether I should opt for dyeing it a lighter colour, perhaps some caramel highlights, to ease the transition for a few years... but I'm a naturally dark haired person, jet black eyebrows and pale freckly skin. I really REALLY don't think I'd suit blonde hair!

Any advice????

It can depend on your skin colour.

I had House of Colour match done and I'm autumn - hence do not suit silver /grey and was advised never to go grey (fortunately hair is greying v slowly).

And I see where they are coming from. The models you see with grey hair usually have steely grey or white white hair and tanned skin rather than the typical mousey British hair.

So what colours suit you. Is your skin a deep tan colour so silver looks good on it.

Update - still grey, still loving it! It's about 3 inches wide now, no hiding it.

I was reminded to come back to this thread after seeing another v similar one today. Grey is the new 'in thing' !!

Go you silver lady :))
I'm in the same boat ! Can't decide what to do !! Naturally dark brown but currently a darkish blonde with highlights , got about an inch of white through the middle and smatterings of grey through the rest !! It's almost shoulder length and curly and I always have it a messy up do ! Can see the grey at the front ! I think it looks ok but dd ( a hairdresser is not impressed !!! Other dd suggested silver hi lights to blend in but difficult to acheive !!
I'm leaving it alone for now and see how it goes !! ( I'm 48 been going grey for last 10 years .. )

Go for it dramarama - if you can wear it up, I think that's even better because you can highlight the grey without the awful 'stripe' look that I have.

Curly must be better than straight too for blending in the line.

It's quite refreshing, and fun.. so far.
