I think you may be suffering from over analysis with your pores and pigmentation - v tempting when you start focussing on your skin, I know I do it Blush

But seriously your pores will look fine to anyone else as will the pigmentation. The shine doesn't look oily or greasy so is alos likely to be much more noticeable to you than other people.

The only bit is only 95% fantastic is your chin which I'm hoping is getting better crosses fingers

Great tip (can't remember if it's from CH or SB) - look at your skin in the mirror from the distance other people look, not centimetres away. Your skin will look 100% better instantly.

TheWombat · 12/05/2015 20:10

OMG ilove if I had skin and pores like that! I'd be delighted!! Seriously..

dontcallmelen · 12/05/2015 20:16

Thank you Drama its hard trying too keep up.

ilovetosleep · 12/05/2015 20:17

God it is weird how we perceive ourselves. I just see PORES. I am 34 and I think I should still look like 25. I think I actually just have normal skin for my age but I still wish I looked 25 Actually what I really need is a full nights sleep. And some Korean skincare :)

Itsalldramarama · 12/05/2015 20:22

ilovetosleep .. Your skin looks good to me especially your nose and forehead !! I'm guilty of ltaking close ups and despairing( over analysing) too but from a normal distance I look fine !!

dontcallmelen · 12/05/2015 20:23

Can anyone advise if they purchased retin a from either ebay or amazon many thanks.

.... And don't look in a magnifying mirror .... Now that is soul destroying ;)

Teladi · 12/05/2015 20:33

ilovetosleep I think your face looks good to me! (disclaimer: this comes from someone who doesn't know anything about skincare, but then that's the same as 99% of people who will be looking at your face!!)

After much dithering (and thank you for your advice earlier in the thread!!) I finally bought some new products, clearing out my Advantage Points. I bought the LRP Toleriane cleanser, Effaclar Duo, Avene Antirougeur moisturiser (3 for 2, yay!) and the Nip/Fab pads. Feel reassured by the link you posted, Nabootique, that I can at least have a go with the Nip/Fab pads - I need a 'starter' product!

I have been using skincare products I have at home, it turns out I had more than I thought I had! Started little by little, as suggested. I've been using a Decleor cleanser (it foams a bit so is prob. 'bad' but feels quite gentle), the last of the Antirougeur I already had. So far so good. My face feels nice and not tight or sore, so I guess that's a good start.

Plus after telling my husband that I was going to start "doing skincare" he produced a bottle of Dr Hauschka Clarifying Toner that he got as part of a skincare box so used that today too. He has been using products for years and to be fair everyone thinks he's about 8-10 years younger than he is, I don't know why I didn't make the correlation before now....!!

MrsGuyGarvey · 12/05/2015 20:41

Forget scrubbing your poor arms with a derma flannel just slap on some cracked heal cream and the keratosis pillaris will be gone within a couple of days.

TheWombat · 12/05/2015 20:45

ilove and other pore-concerned people, you might like this post by a Korean beauty blogger: fiftyshadesofsnail.com/2015/03/28/how-to-shrink-pores-temporarily-plus-3-pore-myths/

I am trying out this BHA/clay mask/oil massage tonight, but with CH-recommended products, not Korean ones. Will let you know how it goes...

Kundry · 12/05/2015 20:46

Top tip MrsGuyGarvey the urea will see off the KP quickly and with much less effort for you and kinder on your skin than all the scrubbing.

Why do ingredients have to sound so unfortunate? acid - sounds like it will burn you face off, urea - sounds like wee Shock, when actually they are fine and much nice for your skin than rubbing away until it falls off

Yes, urea works! My daughter has kp and it works well on her. Kundry, you are so right, I was just telling someone at toddler group about urea for kp today and she was Hmm - I told her I'm pretty sure they produce it artificially for skin stuff!!

Kundry · 12/05/2015 21:05

Flexitol heel balm, the one with 25% urea. Also heals cracked heels within a week will sting like buggery the first day you use it though

5 years of cracked sore heels cured in under 5 days, never recurred, the stuff is fantastic. 10% urea cream is also the best handcream in the world

Sallystyle · 12/05/2015 21:19

I changed my sunscreen to ultrasun and it sorted out my oiliness a treat. I am not longer shining.

I just think it is expensive for the amount you get, but it is wonderful.

I used liquid gold last night and shit my skin burned! I worried I would wake up with red burns but I didn't.

Hoping to see a difference with my retin A use soon. Apart from that massive cystic spot I have had very few new spots which is amazing. I know the cleansing and acid has helped because I am still getting loads of new spots on my shoulders, just not my face.

I wonder if my retin A is not causing me side effects because it has Clindamycin in it? it still has 0.025% of T in it though.

Nabootique · 12/05/2015 21:29

I use the derma flannel as instructed and don't scrub. It works for me. There's nothing wrong with suggesting a different approach obviously, but to be dismissive of someone who is trying to help seems a bit rude Hmm

I love my dermaflannel, nothing like a flannel or microfibre cloth. I'm not using it while I'm acid toning & using bravura salicylic but one of my better purchase.

Shop · 12/05/2015 22:24

Just about to order my Cerave pm, can't wait to try it now:)

Kundry · 12/05/2015 22:48

Now I now you'll be disappointed Shock
