I'm going to give that one a go myself though Tiz! I like a bit of silicone in a day cream and it's a bargain compared to the Elemental Herbology one.

Fatstacks · 15/05/2015 15:08

Thanks Proteins and Kundry I'm tempted to take my Retin A too, for the nights when we sleep on the train Blush

I can blag that I will just say it's prescription stuff.

DP is threatening to take his 'new hobby' if I take all my new face products which would be fine if he'd taken up reading but his latest thing is rebuilding a shitty old motorbike engine Hmm

I'll get myself off to Boots and see what sample sizes I can purloin!

Thanks Tiz- I try and avoid silicone as silicone in hair conditioners gives me back spots (realised thanks to curly girl method!) so applying same logic to my face... Having said that I bought the vit c capsules without checking (carried away with this enthusiasm!) and they have been fine so far.

Also do find some silicone products "roll" terribly- looking at you effaclar mat!

Nabootique · 15/05/2015 17:02

I avoid silicone in night products because I like to layer and it can feel too much like a coating. I also find it rolls if I put an extra drop of oil on top of a silicone moisturiser before bed. I don't mind it in a day cream, but I think if my primer had silicone in it might be a different story.

I don't find the rainforest one conditioning enough, but like the tresemme naturals and have just bought their perfect undone and naked perfect curl to do a comparison!

Have just indulged in a "facial workout" which involved a massage by some lovely ladies at selfridges, massaging my face in a way it had never been massaged before. To the point my flat mate asked if I had had Botox at lunch time? Pointed out that I didn't't think it worked that fast, but wow, the glow was amazing, and I swear my eyes didn't look as saggy as normal!

MrsGuyGarvey · 15/05/2015 21:52

Ooh Plumstone that sounds great, I wonder if they do it at the Manchester Selfridges.

Anyone got any suggestions for a good preferably silicone free make up primer? I'm finding now that I'm super smooth the Smashbox one is too slippery.

No. It might peel a bit but not so anyone else should notice. Let it calm down and try again, it should be easier next time- go really slowly, use the tiniest possible amount, wait 30 min after cleansing to apply it, moisturise - if necessary get some Cerave as it seems to help it calm down.

kundry my cerave has just arrived, I've tried it on the back of my hands and I LOVE it!!

Great texture, sinks in fairly quickly so long as it doesn't break me out I can see this fast becoming a favourite.

Thanks for the recc, it's not something I would have considered before this thread Flowers

EuphemiaCoxton · 16/05/2015 17:02

My face is still a haggard mess after three weeks of retin a but my hands look beautiful!

Kundry · 16/05/2015 18:13

Oh thank goodness. I get nervous that people are spending money on things i use but Cerave is lovely

DrankSangriaInThePark · 16/05/2015 18:22

Plumstone! Tell us more about facial workouts! I have decided my main problem now is sag. My cheeks feel like they look like an elephant's arse. Grin

It was amazing, much pummeling and needing but my aunt who I saw for lunch did ask if I had Botox - subtly not her strongest suit!!! It was £20 for 15 mins and much lifting of jaw and cheek area, with lymphatic movements in the eye socket and jaw - they do a30min one as well as other stuff but definaty something g I would indulge in regularly £20 each Friday is probably best spent in that than three drinks on my way home. - however big news is got an invite to Fortnums new Beauty area and the FREE goodie bag was amazing. Not sure about the brands a bit out there for my wallet, but did but some Oskia hand cream. They also have me a sample of their naturally produced retain serum, which I may have overdone as there was much stinging. However the lovely large Oskia night cream from the goodie bag, calmed that. Also tried the REN one minute facial (another freebie) which was quite scrubby. So tonight:

Bobbi Brown oil cleanse
dR Peter Roth vit c cleanser
REN 1 minute facial - scrubby
Bobbi brown hydration tonic
Oskia serum
Oskia night cream

Skin feels amazing but will only know real results tomorrow
