Wardrobe gaps

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/04/2015 12:15

Have just had a cull of my wardrobe and a big sort out. Do this five or six times a year.

The 'gaps' that I have identified are:

  • a black or grey silk button down shirt (actually a silk/cotton mix would be even better)
  • a perfect black and white striped t-shirt
  • a white summer skirt, full, midi length, maybe broderie anglaise
  • the perfect pair of summer shorts - maybe black, grey or denim - must be cotton and need to be slim fitted on the waist and hops, no puffy chino shapes or belting or anything
  • a cotton jersey jacket of some sort - grey, maybe biker shape. I thought I'd found a perfect one at Gap, but it was pretty poor quality irl, and far too big/long. I need neat and fitted.

What are your wardrobe gaps? Shall we try to help each other find something perfect? :)

So do I

noddyholder · 28/04/2015 21:06

Really lovely for the £ Quite sheer but I love them

noddyholder · 28/04/2015 21:14

Some lovely similar shape lightweight jumpers

Methenyouplus4 · 28/04/2015 21:56

Sorry for crashing, I have small boobs so wear a padded bra, is that Zara t shirt the type that would make it really obvious? I find really sheer tops tend to show a bump where boob meets bra on the fullest part of the cup.

scatteroflight · 28/04/2015 21:58

I need this tunic / shift style dress in Navy or Teal. Also no longer than 90cm length.

Simple shift dresses with sleeves are so hard to find!

Methenyouplus4 · 28/04/2015 22:27

Also after a nice pencil skirt (navy or maroon), fitted enough to be flattering but thick enough fabric/ structured enough to be able to tuck in tops without it looking bulgy.

Methenyouplus4 · 28/04/2015 22:30

And a thin tan leather belt that is actually leather but not crazy prices.

www.peacocks.co.uk/lds-skirt-full-burn-out-stripe-110560.html?___store=default this is a lovely skirt comes in black too

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/04/2015 18:01

I like that, Noddy, but want cotton.

Plus4 You can sometimes get nice leather belts at a good price in the Hobbs sale. Otherwise, maybe Gap?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/04/2015 20:15

South - v nice but not sure re the pockets.

One of you tiny-breasted ladies needs tobuy this. I think it's gorgeous, but it would be a disaster on me.

Yoo Hoo Noddy - are you around?? I really need to pick your stylish brain please!!

I found this in a charity shop this morning for £3! Obviously I grabbed it with both hands and skipped all the way home Grin. But now I have no idea what to wear it with, other than jeans... I'm thinking that bright red shouldn't be teamed with black (cheap according to Trinny & Susannah..), and since I have mostly black skirts and trousers, I'm a bit stuck now! Could you give me some inspiration on what you were planning to wear with it so I can copy you please?

Thank you ever so!

Any other input from you stylish people would be hugely appreciated too obviously!

Penguinsaresmall · 06/05/2015 11:41

Update - have been googling and pinteresting and am even more confused now! Red and black is all over the place - so is the Trinny/Susanna idea outdated now?
