CozICantGoNekkid · 05/11/2006 16:32

Well, you can tell my the fact im going to the meet-up im a MN regular. I really need help to decide what to wear to this meet up though as im totally clueless about clothes! I won't give away too much but im quite young, brunette, not tall (between 5'1" and 5'4"), bigger than a 14. My DH says he will buy me a new outfit to go to boost my confidence Please help me!

Thank You lovely stylists!

(and if your going, you can try and suss out who I am by my clothes )

Those who are worrying about what to wear - I'm sure I'm not the only one not buying new so pleeeease don't worry! I might not wear jeans now that I know no-one else is! But I certainly won't be wearing Monsoon or Boden, the only label you'll on me is likely to be Oxfam!

I'm much more interested in meeting the people than looking at their clothes. Dripping in style would probably put me off, whereas those more casual I would find more approachable. ifywim!

Rhubarb · 05/11/2006 17:54

SG, I like the red btw, the other one is a bit too dressy.

ComeOVeneer · 05/11/2006 17:56

So is the general consensus dress rather than jeans and top? Right if so have to shop (and starve for the nex 2 weeks)

Rhubarb · 05/11/2006 17:58

I'm not wearing a dress.

Very dressy isn't my style, I would feel uncomfortable. I would prefer to wear my own stuff and feel comfortable.

WelshBorisSaysFawkeOff · 05/11/2006 18:01

Well I'm wearing a dress

Very lovely it is too, as is themaskedposters

Now shoes, the animal print, the pink Laboutions or the silver?

Seeing as though 3 days ago I wasnt even coming Im certainly making a meal out of this!

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 05/11/2006 18:03

well, im going to "out" myself as I cant get the jist of this name changing lark - and it appears im not as silly as I though for asking what to wear! Your all at it!!

WelshBorisSaysFawkeOff · 05/11/2006 18:05

Dont worry QP, the main thing is that you feel comfortable in what you wear

No point dressing like Jodie Marsh if youre going to feel like a trussed up turkey all night

Rhubarb · 05/11/2006 18:07

I'm coming as a stick of veg.

fullmoonfiend · 05/11/2006 18:07

Some fab frocks here. See, this is another good reason why I'm not going, my wardobe crisis would have last two months and then I'd have still regretted whatever I plumped for on the night. I'm sure you'll all look fan-bloody-tastic

WelshBorisSaysFawkeOff · 05/11/2006 18:10

OI

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash

My office now!

SaintGeorge · 05/11/2006 18:12

Right the green is out then. I may well still go for jeans. Although the red one is nice and warm as it is velvety [totally bloody undecided emoticon]

WelshBorisSaysFawkeOff · 05/11/2006 18:13

Take them both to QVs she's good at choosing dresses

mustrunmore · 05/11/2006 18:14

Well, I've only got one dress that nearly fits; have squeezed the chest back into it, but then I still look pg from there down
And no footwear to match.
And my jeans have holes in, so thats not an option anyway.

Anyone got a really flattering size 16 dress that they'd like to sell for a fiver?

WelshBorisSaysFawkeOff · 05/11/2006 18:17

ebay

mustrunmore

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 05/11/2006 18:17

Oh, not like Jodie Marsh? Ill chuck them 2 belts away then...

I am noooooooooooot wearing a dress and I still reacon your all to stylish for jeans... Ill just sit back for abit and watch this thread

WelshBorisSaysFawkeOff · 05/11/2006 18:18

Was hoping that would work!!

Have a look mustrunmore, if not try a charity shop

I'm sure they'll have something for you

fullmoonfiend · 05/11/2006 18:18

StG - don't wear the red dress if it is warm - there will be a lot poeple there and there's nothing worse than feeling nervous and hot and bothered, especially if you then have a drink or two.

WelshBorisSaysFawkeOff · 05/11/2006 18:18

QP- I want a word with you please

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 05/11/2006 18:20

yep?

Pinkchampagne · 05/11/2006 18:20

I was thinking of wearing either trousers or jeans & a nice top.

WelshBorisSaysFawkeOff · 05/11/2006 18:20

I shall CAT you

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 05/11/2006 18:21

ok...

Should I be scared? I have an awful sense of dread...

Pinkchampagne · 05/11/2006 18:23

Don't be scared...you will be fine!

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 05/11/2006 18:25

Pink - I asked a Q on other thread...

Im scared of WB CATing me... feel like im gonna get told off for something... Did I use the term MN regulaer too loosely?
