Right, I will start you off (and keep this bumped a bit)

"20

5'2"

16

Hourglass"

What shops do you like? Whose style (if any) do you admire?

My first advice is always to get some fab accessories because you can wear them with anything and it automatically looks like you have made an effort. Big dangly necklaces are great, unusual scarves if you can get away with wearing them, a cool pair of boots at this time of year. You can wear any old jeans and t-shirt with some funky jewellery and it instantly looks better.

Accessorise have lovely things but quite pricey - Matalan, and bizarrely Sainsburys, have cheaper stuff.

Be bold and get something striking - a hat, some patterned tights etc. They can make you feel much better even about quite an ordinary outfit.

a hat!!??!! oh lordy. What type? I will be laughed to kingdom come by DH Give it a go though...

Will suggest wearing all one colour, wear V necks to show off your boobies. Per Una have some nice stuff in this season so do Tesco.

Boots with wider legs (if you need them) you can get from Evans.

DrFrankenZooey · 30/10/2006 17:42

Go and try some on, Quootie! Accessorise have loads

QuootieSpookypie · 30/10/2006 17:43

are wide boots really wide boots? I had an episode with a pair of wellies once, and been to scared to try anything above ankle height since

What about a coat? You need a marvellous coat. I am getting a picture of you in a fab coat, crocheted hat and a big chunky brooch

sort of Annie Hall but more chic

What is your hair like?

QuootieSpookypie · 30/10/2006 17:52

all Toni and Guy'd Got it cut off, now shoulder length, layered, but its straight and quite thin...ill try and find a good likeness. Oh, and brunette. Some lights its reddish, some more blonde, some golden, some... gingerish.

How about wearing the V-neck/vest combo with a long corduroy skirt and flat boots? Actually Tesco have some nice cord skirts atm - only £15. Can't remember all the colours, but I have a grey one, and there's also a plum colour, possibly also a brown, but I can't remember. You definitely need MrsBadger and MaloryTowers - hopefully they'll be along soon...

QuootieSpookypie · 30/10/2006 17:55

Here

That style, almost that colour (abit more golden), minus the fringe bit.

(sorry - that skirt I linked to doesn't come in the right range of sizes - just for an idea, really).

QuootieSpookypie · 30/10/2006 17:56

the darker one in that pic.

my mum has a skirt like that! She looks great in it... but...wont I look abit old in it?

OP posts:
QuootieSpookypie · 30/10/2006 17:59

and flat boots make me look abit silly with my height/size ratio. Sorry, im ripping your idea to shreds!

OP posts:
JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 30/10/2006 18:12

No - that's fine. Just thought that if you're used to being in jeans etc, a longer skirt would kind of ease you into wearing skirts in general. But I do know what you mean. (sorry - might not be on for a bit, am actually suppposed to be cooking supper).

crunchie · 30/10/2006 20:47

Deffo jeans with cool boots, that way it is jazzing you up without too much pain. Or sparkly pumps or something fun and wacky. I LOVE my shoes. I 2nd the idea of all one colour or tones of a colour, how about trying cords - baby cord only - instead of jeans. With layered t-shirts, which then looks more funky than jeans and a jumper with trainers. I buy loads of t-shirts in various styles, lengths, weights and mix them up.

However at 20 you should be dressing in anything and everthing, make and effort more than once and people won't 'ooh' you they will 'woo wooo' you (imagine a builder whistle at that point!!

QuootieSpookypie · 30/10/2006 20:50

layered t - shirts? How would you do that? Would cords be ok on chubby legs? I used to ride in cord jodphurs Thats how I imagine them !

crunchie · 30/10/2006 22:05

FOUL FOUL FOUL. they are old lady trs.

If you must look at M&S they have somenice chocolate cords, or others.

QuootieSpookypie · 30/10/2006 22:08

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 30/10/2006 22:10

How about these from Marks?

controlfreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaky2 · 30/10/2006 22:11

dont like those qsp. bit frumpy imo and some of those colours should be illegal. boden has some nice slouchy washed velvet trews.... (sorry, cant do links). see what you think. probably also have cords. i am a 16 (but MUCH older than you) and slouchy trouser shape is good on me... and not too frumpy. wear with nice v neck. agree you also need good knee length coat. something simple, a line with a collar to look streamlined. find your flattish boots and your "interesting" accessories and bobs your uncle!

QuootieSpookypie · 30/10/2006 22:13

Jackie - just about to post them! You sure cords...? with chubby legs? What colour? (out of blacks and browns I mean)
