tried one on today, quite a nice brown colour. never had one before and it was rather cosy and I was wavering for the school run etc
BUT
big norks therefore risk of looking like back end of a bus
AND
are they naff-naffdinaffola?

I have the trench in chocolate and it is fabbola. I have big norks too but I tend not to fasten it.

TutterIckOrTreat · 11/10/2006 17:28

i am small of nork so not a problem

NOMurDErousPLUME · 11/10/2006 17:29

Wore it today and got utterly drenched though, not great in a downpour

TutterIckOrTreat · 11/10/2006 17:30

ooh ndp, how does it come up size-wise? i'm normally a 12 but sometimes have to get a 14 because i'm wide around the back. especiall if i want to wear a jumper underneath...?

RottenOtter · 11/10/2006 17:30

style hijack i am so pleased yesterday someone asked me where i got my boots ( destroyer) and today someone asked me where i got my jeans !! So pleased for a 39 (yesterday) sleep deprived) saggy norked trog!

TutterIckOrTreat · 11/10/2006 17:30

no, i'd wear it for looks rather than waterproofing. have my oh so sebsible north face cagoule jobbie for datys like today.

NOMurDErousPLUME · 11/10/2006 17:32

I'm a 12, but I have a small back and big norks. The sizing is pretty generous, imo. If you are bg over the back I'd prob go for a 14 though. You can always order both sizes and send one back. That;s what I did. In fact I ordered 2 colours and 2 sizes, so sent 3 back.

cupsnakes · 11/10/2006 17:32

am thinking about this waterproof jacket (in brown if they get any more stock).
Am fed up of getting soaking wet on school runs and dog walks.
What do you think?

NOMurDErousPLUME · 11/10/2006 17:35

I think that is really ugly. You could get something nicer looking and better priced at Millets.

I'm beginning to sound like a millets freak, aren't I ?! &

TutterIckOrTreat · 11/10/2006 17:35

very wise you are ndp. i shall get all 4 and send 2 back.

i always have this thing with intenet shopping that i feel i have to get loads of stuff while i'm there. mustn't proceed to checkout just yet - who knows what treaasures are justa click away...

TutterIckOrTreat · 11/10/2006 17:36

would really love the trench in ecru, but ds is 16mo. bad idea i suppose.

NOMurDErousPLUME · 11/10/2006 17:36

I do that, it's because you are paying for postage.

NOMurDErousPLUME · 11/10/2006 17:37

I got the ecru and the choc and the ecru looked too hight maintenance AND it washed me out a bit. The choc with red piping looked much better on me.

NOMurDErousPLUME · 11/10/2006 17:37

the lining in the brown one is red in RL and not green as shown in catalogue/on website.

northerner · 11/10/2006 17:38

Whats wrong with a stylish coat and a brolly?

Waterproofs are for yaughts IMO.

TutterIckOrTreat · 11/10/2006 17:39

pretty sure the brown would be good for me. i'm what used to be known as soft autumn in ponce colour me beautiful terms.

cupsnakes · 11/10/2006 17:40

can't do brolly when pushing buggy.

northerner · 11/10/2006 17:42

Ah, of course, buggy pushers...

cupsnakes · 11/10/2006 17:43

I'm going to be pushing a buggy to and from school for the next 3 years.

TutterIckOrTreat · 11/10/2006 17:46

lol northerner, for some reason i can only read your post as a sneery "ooooh, yes, buggy pushers, thooose people" like you were talking about rather unpleasant oiks
