I haven't knitted anything in over a year . I started a cardigan for DD about 2 weeks ago, she knows my record and is asking for daily updates on progress...

Hope you are not delayed too long Amber. Nothing worse after a night out than standing around in the cold.

Mara I know, I feel like all my life problems can be solved now I have the right storage in one room at least

shopafrolic · 22/12/2014 07:36

Morning all - rough night's sleep as blowing a gale here. Then woke with a start to hear the bin lorry (usually comes tomorrow), rushed downstairs, legged it onto the street in trainers and nightie (classy) but missed them :(
Today can only get better - please Xmas Sad

Drywhiteplease · 22/12/2014 08:29

liberty don't get me on storage. Ikea makes me squeeeee. Love, just love things to put all my crap in!
shop you missed the bin lorry? So sorry.......ours comes every other week, yes, house hold waste.....I'm manic about it!

Morning,

Shop sorry but I did laugh at the vision of you chasing the binmen in your nightie!

Dry safe trip, sounds lovely and festive.

We are having a party tonight for about 40 plus a dc Christmas theatre thing this afternoon. So much to do! Not going to over complicate the drinks, a few cases of good fizz waiting downstairs. Need to do a last minute supermarket run, make mince pies and delegate jobs to our many house guests (dh family).

Got my eyebrows done at bobbi brown yesterday. Really pleased, they trim them, shape and use a shadow to define. Was a bit Hmm about the trimming but the lady said it was normal.

santamarianovella · 22/12/2014 09:26

Morning everyone,
shop, I did laugh at your post too, Grin, how annoying!

dry, enjoy the trip,
Cashmere is my speciality, and from my experience,it's like good leather you really need to pay for quality, for me brunello cucinelli is the reigning king of cashmere, everything else pales in comparison, its eye wateringly expensive, but really worth it, I have loads of their stuff, several years old, and they never ever pill, still wear them,

I have a couple of j crew cashmere and they are good, one is better than the other, but still very good, look there if you are going to London,as they have sales on right now,

Chinti & Parker, is not very good I'm afraid, I had one,and only worn it a couple of times, but it felt really scratchy, not worth the. £££

this is worth reading

Happy belated birthday to your beautiful DD Flowers

mara good luck! It sounds hectic!

We are in Paris, going to spend Xmas here, , had other plans, but due to some circumstances, it all got called off, but can't complain,it's beautiful here,Smile,

shopafrolic · 22/12/2014 10:12

Sigh - wish I was in Paris for Christmas (but not the circumstances obvs Santa)
Thanks for all your laughter at my expense support Voguettes. You would be proud of me. I donned my Joseph leather trousers, Uniqlo black sweatshirt, bright red lipstick - stood outside the front door with a box of Christmas biscuits in hand as the bin lorry drove past.
Turns out he was the trade bin man not the residential one but after experiencing my witty repartee and winning smile he took the lot (and the biscuits). WINNER

QueenCardigan · 22/12/2014 10:15

Ooh Christmas in Paris. Sounds wonderful.

I was so pissed last night hence my pissed post that makes no sense. Drinking fizz all afternoon and eating just a few carrot sticks and humous is not good! Got to drink fizz again this evening and then I'm so looking forward to a couple of dry days. I can't take all this partying.

No plans for our day until later. After the last couple of hectic weeks of term it's lovely to just chill and do nothing.

libertychick · 22/12/2014 10:19

Oh Shop that would annoy me so much. Grrrrr for you. The day has to get better.

That's a good article Santa. Good to know that Pure Collection give details about their cashmere on the site.

I'm working this morning then going to a friend late afternoon for a pre Christmas dinner and drinks. Love this week, nice things planned for every day Smile

LinusDKD · 22/12/2014 10:33

Morning!

Very windy here as well and drizzly. Yuk, my hair looks like a big frizzball.

What is the MNV experience with Fendi bags? DM has her heart set on a large Peekaboo bag but I have no clue if they are good quality or not.

santamarianovella · 22/12/2014 15:01

For shop , my view Smile
Just need to go out and enjoy it,

Cue trumpet fanfare....it's MN VOGUE Vol 50, yes, it's that old. Come and celebrate with us and wave your handbags in support [fgrin]
santamarianovella · 22/12/2014 15:22

Sorry linus , no experience at all,

queen loved your drunk post, hope you feel better today,

LinusDKD · 22/12/2014 15:33

Oooh very Envy santa

Just played dress up in DM's wardrobe and tried on some of her Brunello Cuccinelli cashmere. Gorgeous!

Shame most of her colours wouldn't suit me and even then she wouldn't pass them onto me

I have seen a lovely grey v-neck on their website that she might have a look at in the sales for my Christmas present 2015. Wink

Drywhiteplease · 22/12/2014 15:57

Ah the power of a red lip shop and leather trs !
Lovely view Santa... You will have a lovely Christmas I'm sure x
QueenC " I have to drink fizz again tonight"!!!! It's sooooo hard being a socialite Xmas Grin you were excellent last night.
Travelling down South. Had to race back in house for my secret bottle of fizz parents a bit slow at filling my glass Wink and have to buy my annual bottle of Harveys Bristol Cream old lady
Cashmere talk is really interesting .
I'll read the article later as can't open on phone.

Lovely view Santa Xmas Envy

shop I bet you looked amazing in your leathers and your bin lorry tale made me giggle, i bet you rocked the trainer plus nightie look, very fashion forward of you lovey Xmas Grin

I'm feeling very flat of late, struggling tbh and I feel so guilty over it as I know there are people with bigger problems than I've got. I'm being swallowed up by constant anxiety and I just feel very low atm. really struggling to feel at all festive but I am plowing through for the sake of others. I'm really hoping I'll feel brighter as the new year comes around and uni work is handed in and presentations are given. it's been a tough year for many reasons.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/12/2014 17:01

One I hope you feel better soon. This time of year can be exhausting. I fully expect to get ill after my work Christmas party tomorrow as I feel like I'm running on empty.

Shop loving your work with the bin man Wink

Fab view santa, it looks lovely and wintery. I'm so glad it's been mild and dry here for about 2 weeks now, I bet January is going to be horrible though.

I will be wearing this River Island embellished top on Christmas Day, probably with skinnies and Pistols. We are going to be at the PILs, going out for a pub lunch with them, SIL, BIL, their boys and BIL's parents. My first Christmas away from "home" Xmas Smile

shopafrolic · 22/12/2014 18:05

Sigh Santa
I used to work for a large oil company with a Paris HQ and loved my trips there.
DH has been told by work that holidays are cancelled - end of financial year is Dec 31st so he has to work more days than were planned Xmas Sad
One you have got through worse than this my love - here to hold your hand x

OneLittleLady · 22/12/2014 18:31

Oh shop that's such a shame, will you have any time together at all? Xmas Sad also, thank you for the hand hold, i really need it right now x

Anyone know if there's going to be an outnet sale and if so, when it will be. hoping it will be around when my money comes in as I have my eye on stuff but always seem to miss out on the bits i want! really really want the McQueen leather bracelet but suspect it will be gone before i can get it

QueenCardigan · 22/12/2014 19:00

Here to hand hold too one Flowers. I think your dp is home now? Take it easy.
shop that's pants. Can't you lie and say that you're going away and can't cancel???

Not drinking fizz tonight anymore and am secretly relieved as my friend is unwell. Cup of tea and wrapping stocking presents (all 36 of them) tonight...

bettykt · 22/12/2014 19:01

One we're all here to hold your hand when the times are tough.

Santa what a view. I love Paris and lived there briefly many moons ago. Talking of which does anyone know when the new series of Spiral is due?

Dry safe travels

I've finally had success with JCrew. After sending loads back the Tippi sweater fits me perfectly. A black one arrives in Jan.

MarshaBrady · 22/12/2014 19:15

One sending your warming Christmas wishes. I think the outnet do a clearance, not sure if they do a sale otherwise. Anyone know? My brain is failing me.

On that note anyone looking forward to particular sales? I Need pjs and underwear and have been waiting patiently for Bodas and hush sales before getting stuff.

MarshaBrady · 22/12/2014 19:19

Sending you. My version sounds like I've put something in the post!

OneLittleLady · 22/12/2014 19:31

thank you for all the hands to hold Thanks

marsha not too worried if there's no offical 'sale' as such, the stock changes so often that it's likely that many other things will catch my eye Xmas Smile i too need new underwear and tights, everything's falling apart or just doesn't fit now so lots of replacement work needs to go on in my wardrobe/drawers

MarshaBrady · 22/12/2014 19:33

Same here. My pjs and bras are falling apart. But I refuse to pay fp esp on pjs

QueenCardigan · 22/12/2014 19:43

I don't intend on buying anything in the sales. I'm trying to save myself for the London mu in March where I'll have a couple of hours in regent street. I don't really need anything new for winter except another grey blouse as today I noticed that mine seems to have very faint bleach type stains. You can hardly see them but I know they're there which bugs me.

shopafrolic · 22/12/2014 20:13

Dry I like to think it was the leathers and my lipstick but I reckon it was the chocolate biscuits.
Marsha the Outnet went the other week to clearance so I think that's it? Where's Blair's spreadsheet?
The only things I have an eye out for are a black blazer and some black suede heels but they are too classic to hit the sales so I'll wait a while. Need to get the size 12 Joseph leathers sold first......
QueenC annoying about the blouse but good news about the night off
