sleep, use a wooden spoon , the whisk will separate ingredients instead of incorporating them, if the recipe calls for adding flour mix at end ,then just fold it in patches, until everything is incorporated, Smile

Love how we work better than SA, so its two here, wonder how many lurkers bought the boots too, sleep I would rush to ANNA, ASAP ,and demand my share of commission Grin.

mara I've tried every parka/down coat under the sun:maxmara, belstaff, woolrich, canda goose,closed..I've spent two days sampling and taking pics, I'm still indecisive, love woolrich, but I love loro piana more, just not the price! I like the one I have as its light and cashmere lined,so its super warm but not bulky, its the storm system one. your dh will hate me for saying this Grin, but harrods,do %30 off,at sales on most of the LP coats, jackets, my dad bought a gorgeous, coat for my mum last winter from there.

shop so sweet!!,the first school show I attended for dss,was at reception,I honestly was in awe of the kids, the parents were all with cameras and they were all awwing over the them, ,the kids all looked scared and huddled together ,they were dressed like lambs Grin dh kept saying, that he is impressed none of them cried, he remember crying on his first play Grin,

maradesbois · 11/12/2014 12:55

Just had a text to say my boots will be here tomorrow so Sleep has deserved her commission for good service alone!

Georgina 16kgs, wow! Well done.

Santa do you get comm from Loro Piana Grin? I might try the LP Bicester outlet store to see what they have. Of the Moncler ones I like this. I want down rather than parka and atm thinking jacket rather than long coat. Need to go and try on though. Have you ever tried Pyrenex?

BrandyAlexander · 11/12/2014 13:26

Hello! It's ds' nativity play this afternoon. When dd had hers last year I sobbed.Blush Dh was mortified! I don't hold out much hope for today!

Shop, I had been doing well being careful about what i eat at these many events but that went out of the window last night. Very annoyed with myself as I am so bloated today.

Stokey · 11/12/2014 18:44

Hello all, loving the snow boots.

I'm living in my blanket scarf and cashmere wrist warmers, and my sashes are shaking too Mara. We're struggling to get above 17 upstairs even with heating on, sometimes I wish I lived in a new build!

Dd1 is better so I got to see their reception play today, super sweet. The teacher did point out the stresses of organising 150 under 5s, they deserve OBEs!

Is everyone prepared for Christmas? I really need a day sans children to stock take presents and stocking fillers.

santamarianovella · 11/12/2014 19:30

That's really cold stokey! Is the weather that awful in the uk? I'm supposed to fly there on Sunday, and I'm scared now !

I wish mara ,i wish! Would rather get a mink cape though! Smile,
I have seen some pyrenex, and they seem more ski than city appropriate,
You should come to my city, its down coat central here!

Its the dcs last day of school tomorrow, and I have mixed feelings, will miss the few hours of peace and tranquility I have on work free dates, , have been organising sleepovers, play dates...etc for the next week with a few moms, its going to be a loooong week.

BrandyAlexander · 11/12/2014 19:59

Oh goodness Stokey, you poor thing. Thanks

I managed to hold it together at the nativity play. Just. I am such a weeper.Blush

santamarianovella · 11/12/2014 20:06

No one is around Sad, I'm reading rubbish, Simon cowell, praises madonna's breast, and says they are great, Grin, I agree with him, they look amazing, I think she had somthing done, they look like they are carved out of marble.

Oh my god, Jude law is expecting another baby!,

Drywhiteplease · 11/12/2014 20:17

stokey and mara you poor things. Nothing worse than being cold inside your home.
It definitely snowed a bit here today...for about 20seconds, but it WAS snow. Supposed to snow later too. Really cold. I've had my down coat on since November and it won't come off until beginning April. Ditto vest and opaque tights Xmas Smile

Have just done a pressie audit and wrapped a few stocking fillers. It's DD's birthday next week too, so it's pressie Central here.

Not at all impressed with Harrods. Have been trying to speak to someone in the Hermes con session for 3 DAYS !!Xmas Shock NEVER answer the phone.

Watching Masterchef the pros......I'd have loved to be a Maître D apart from the horrendous hours . These chefs are incredible.

OP posts:
santamarianovella · 11/12/2014 20:38

Yay! dry thank god you are here!!!

I was about to take the fetal postion and start rocking back and forth,

I love masterchef, but its too difficult, and I feel I'm seriously missing food creativity when I watch it,

hermes never answers the phone, its unheard of! You just show up to the store, be nice ,do a little prayer and ask god for a nice SA,

In all seriousness, they never give inventory over phone, they hardly tell you anything.

Drywhiteplease · 11/12/2014 20:45

Santa I love Marcus W...he's so cool and talented
The poor contestant has just said "I'm cooking a rabbit do da, with a velouté , strangely coloured potatoes, some unintelligibly veg ordinary mortals have never heard of with a very complicated jus, all presented in a very arty forty way with a bit of aniseed thrown in "
And Marcus just goes "ok"
Xmas Grin
I'd be...."bloody hell, that sounds incredible!"

And I loathe shops that are that snobby. When I worked in retail, honestly, you couldn't judge at all often the most unlikely looking people would spend ££££ and up here, customers won't take any crap. one day I'll tell you about when DH bought me some ££££ jewelry dressed in his cycling clothes

I'm gonna miss Michel, loved his calmness,

Dh,never likes this type of creative his point is that there is not enough on the plate to fill his belly, we once went to la chèvre d'or resturant in Eze, and he was still hungry after we finished our meal, it was delicious but he though it was "meh",so we stopped at pizza place on our way home Grin,

Hermes, is like this unfortunately,my mums's friend was treated so badly at their store, she vowed to never shop there again, it didnt last long ,she just shops at another branch now,

Drywhiteplease · 11/12/2014 21:18

My DH is the same Santa but I love lots of little dishes and hate feeling stuffed at the end of a meal. I'm still psychologically scarred from being presented with Cock's combs as a garnish at one fancy restaurant...Grin

shopafrolic · 11/12/2014 21:31

Evening all! Can't join in the food chat as I have very little talent in the kitchen.
Can however relate to the cold old house chat. Our house is always colder upstairs than downstairs (I thought heat rises but not here!).
Watching the BBCmusic awards. Wondering if Sleep is in attendance? Palma Faith looks incredible.

maradesbois · 11/12/2014 21:37

Blimey Dry, that's a garnish too far! I haven't watched this series of MC professionals due to lamenting the absence of Michel and his twinkly eyes. Had one of the best meals of my life at le gavroche a few years ago. Our house isn't actually cold btw, don't worry about me! Boiler is a furnace which is neither economic nor energy efficient but vital in this weather.

Stokey know where you're coming from re new build but don't think upvc will age as well as our lovely sashes Grin.

Santa funny you should mention la chèvre d'or. Dh took me there for my 30th and it was one of the worst restaurant experiences have ever had. The setting is beautiful of course, that view. The food was lovely too but I remember loads of things missing from the menu which just shouldn't happen in a place like that plus the staff being surly and arguing amongst themselves in front of customers. They were trying to flog us the most expensive wines before we'd even ordered, dh was furious about getting treated like a tourist! This summer we went to the Hostellerie Jérome in La Turbie which was fab.

Am starving now thinking about nice restaurants, last fast day of the week though thank god.

Evening, popped in for a quick catch up (Novice, fantastic shopping the other day) and to moan about my hair!

Had a trim yesterday having decided not to do a Claudia and my hairdresser cut one side at the front about an inch shorter than the left (iyswim) I had to return today to get it sorted so now it's too short both sides and I really don't like it Sad.

On a more positive note, I bought a fab wool and silk dress from Cos - can't find it on their website but it's a similar style to this dress the top is wool, the skirt silk.

Also picked up this cashmere scarf - thanks to Shop for the recommendation.

Loving that some of you have Christmas plays to go to, I always cried too mostly with joy but sometimes with embarrassment ds3 usually

I have the high street version of your boots sleep, from Next. Love them; maybe I will upgrade when they need replacing!

Drywhiteplease · 11/12/2014 22:41

Oh I've just realised we will be on MNV vol 50 for Christmas ! Will have to think of an excellent starter. Half a century..........

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 11/12/2014 22:43

Will let you set that one up Dry

MarshaBrady · 11/12/2014 22:45

Oh yes that's a biggie!

Have been to Bristol today and a do tonight, feeling a bit out of it on two glasses of wine.

Drywhiteplease · 11/12/2014 22:50

I'm thinking about it shop but what if I'm not around? Need a stand in Xmas Grin

MarshaBrady · 11/12/2014 22:52
