I did outdoor circuits this morning and ended up very muddy after doing sit ups and press ups. I've asked for money for Christmas to buy winter leggings and cross country trainers that won't slde in the mud so much. Boring purchases but needs must.

Wearing a polo neck today but considering everything is covered up I always feel a bit exposed. They're just so clingy on the boobs or am I wearing one too tight. Dh loves them though for that very reason Grin

novice great shopping
dry I find navy incredibly kinder than black. I don't mind black at night as I find I need make up to help balance it out.

MarshaBrady · 10/12/2014 12:20

lol Shop I had to do a presentation to a wedding size room yesterday and similar thinking was at the front of my mind Grin

That at tg for Maarant blazer + pitch pants to help me feel together

LinusDKD · 10/12/2014 12:56

It's snowing!!!

It won't stay as it's 3 degrees at the moment, but it's snowing! Xmas Smile

maradesbois · 10/12/2014 13:26

Sleep v envious of your warm weather outfit of new parka & snow boots. May even have to copy emulate you for the boots, they are just what I need right now. Went into town in my emu sheepskin ones that are normally reserved for SR, park etc and felt decidedly un-vogue clodhopping along!

Marsha life sounds v busy, hope you make it out for your run.

Linus they inject between the eyebrows where the lines are and also the muscles above eyebrows. It doesn't give the puffy 'Botox face' at all.

Have promised ds we can finish our cardboard box & toilet roll crib tonight. It's looking pretty good on the kitchen mantelpiece. The animals aren't great, donkey looks like batman but that's a plus as far as ds is concerned.

libertychick · 10/12/2014 16:44

I am cooking a fish head Confused. DH went out to get fish and the fishmonger was aghast at the idea of not taking the head so I have chucked it into a pot with a knorr veg stockpot, a big chopped up tomato and a couple of sliced carrots (this is all I have, we are self catering so not well stocked up). I keep peering under the lid to see what the eyes are doing...this is a first for me...hmmmmm

Today's outfit is the Me and Em maxi dress with silver jewellery, comfy rocketdog grey flip flops and trusty Oasis denim shirt in the shade. All your accounts of the cold are not making me want to come home.

DryWhiteplease · 10/12/2014 17:09

OH my god it's blowing a gale still....I'm still here though sleep!

I don't do out door exercise and I certainly don't do anything in MUD Shock.....QieenC and linus you are brave.

Evening!
Had the longest lunch today, wrapped things up past 3 then a bunch of us decided to go for coffee at a place nearby, that dragged on till 5! But it was worth it, remindeded me how much I love what I do, the talk did turn to the chanel métier de'art collection in salzburg, reminded me of dry Grin was amazed how even men admired the setting! And all the intricate details of the clothes. i wore my Marni skirt, with a cream silk collarless Chloe blouse, 6 years old! and my burgundy rockstuds,

I admire anyone who can run outdoors,I can only do it on tradmill, need to control speed and incline, and I get serious earache and headaches if I run outdoors,

sleep which woolrich coat did you Get? Link please would love to see it

Sleepwhenidie · 10/12/2014 20:07

Your day sounds lovely Santa. The coat I got was the arctic parka. Very pleased with it. The Canada Goose ones were lovely too but sportier (would feel odd over a dress) and I'm not so keen on the labels and how the hood sits (it is massive, would be brilliant in a blizzard, but probably not a lot of call in Central London Grin).

DD was amazing today, she's never done any kind of acting/singing stuff before and I was blown away. The play opened with her singing a solo song - she definitely hasn't inherited my voice! Super cool throughout and funny too, I am a very proud mum!

Topazandpearl · 10/12/2014 21:20

Oh how lovely sleep! Agree you must be so proud and you will always treasure the memory.

Love the sound of your lunch santa and your outfit.

Am very impressed with all the outdoor exercises, indoors only for me too (and must do more of that).

Blowing a gale here too.

You may get a white Christmas Linus.

Holiday keeps sounding great liberty and I agree with the fishmonger - nothing that can be made into stock gets wasted here (says she eyeing freezer which has too many chicken carcasses etc to count within).

Am interested too mara and may pm you.

maradesbois · 10/12/2014 21:28

Sleep ah, your dd sounds like a little star. I had a tear in my eye at nativity yesterday, last year poor ds cried and ran off the stage but this time sang his little heart out full of confidence.

Santa your day sounds great and lovely outfit. I love a long lunch!

Have ordered the mammal snow boots in black. They look just what I wanted, sensible and warm but not lacking in aesthetic appeal as such things often do. Now am looking to upgrade my zara parka to a good-quality down jacket. Think dh can be persuaded to get it for me for Christmas. I like the look of the maxmara cube but dh was muttering that maxmara isn't a specialist in such things and may as well go for moncler. Does anyone have a maxmara one or any opinions on them?

Sitting in my living room scented by a white co winter botanical candle that arrived today. Drinking peppermint tea while the tree twinkles and the (original sash Stokey Xmas Wink) windows shake in the wind. Nothing better than being cosy and warm while a storm rages outside.

santamarianovella · 10/12/2014 21:46

sleep It's gorgeous,I agree about the Canada goose something was not right about it, this one looks so elegant, I'm still debating, should I get one now or wait for the one I like to be reduced, still can't decide,

mara I didnt like the look of the maxmara cube, the belted ones are very thin, and no matter how tight you tie the belt it looks frumpy,
If your dh wants to get you a specialist parka brand, point him to a loro piana store Grin, I have one, and its perfect, moncler is good too,

shopafrolic · 10/12/2014 22:15

evening all. I need to catch up but Sleep what's the sizing like on those boots? And did you buy from that website? Thanks

Drywhiteplease · 10/12/2014 22:35

santa love a lot that you think of me when looking at Chanel !
sleep your dd sounds like a real star in the making. I'm so amazed at the little ones who confidently sing solos. I always have a box of man sized tissues next to me during the nativity for tearful parents Grin

Sleepwhenidie · 10/12/2014 22:38

Shop - sizing is fine. I saw another site that said they come up narrow but I don't think they do, they would be fine with thick socks too I am sure (I have pretty normal feet width wise I think Confused). I did buy from that site - not only was it cheapest but also the only place I could find them in grey. Fast delivery, all good.

BrandyAlexander · 11/12/2014 00:25

I have eaten so much. Lovely views over london. Lots of champers.

Sleep lovely to hear mini Sleep did well.Smile

shopafrolic · 11/12/2014 08:10

Morning all.
Sleep thanks for that info - I have blatantly copied you and ordered the same Blush. Hope you don't mind? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? Hmm. I did get some snow boots last year that my DSiL bought over from Holland but they were a size too big and we couldn't return them..... Those ones look fab. Love your coat too - just gorgeous. Your DD's performance sounded great :) Hope you start to recover soon.

shopafrolic · 11/12/2014 08:15

Mara loved your crib - beautiful. What a lovely thing to do with the kids - I really need to get better at the crafty stuff. Interesting to hear about the 11s injections. I'm such a wimp I'll stick with my fringe Grin
Santa I loved the sound of your long lunch, the outfit and the conversation - lovely.
Novice this must be silly season for you corporate entertaining wise? How do you not end up the size of a house?!
Liberty how was your fish head? I'm impressed - did the eyes go white?
Dry hope you are in one piece after the storm?
I've probably missed lots - sorry.....

GeorginaWorsley · 11/12/2014 08:41

I too don't mind the cold for running or actually rain but I hate the wind.
I haven't run much recently as I'm a but scared of slipping, my route is a disused railway line /bridle path and it gets covered in leaves.
Iv been doing more classes at the gym instead plus my trusty 30 day shred!

Re warm coats,I bought a navy fur lined hooded parka type from Phase Eight earlier in season and it is toasty warm.
Think it's the Peta Puffa.
Can't link as on phone.

Am liking the red lipstick talk!
Lisa Eldridge recommends the Revlon lip stain in New York.
I find Ruby Woo too blue for my colouring as is Bobbi Brown Old Hollywood.

The Loreal ones named after actresses are okay, I've got it the Eva,which is orangey red.

shopafrolic · 11/12/2014 09:30

Good stocking filler for anyone who loves fashion 50 dresses
Georgina I'll have to look at the Bobbi Brown one you mention as the blue tones suit me - good to know

maradesbois · 11/12/2014 09:42

Morning,

Shop I think I get more pleasure from the arty stuff than ds, he said last night "please no more crafts mummy I just want to watch Frozen" Grin. I blatantly copied Sleep too on the boots. Price was great. Have realised a great thing about sometimes imitating fellow MNVers is that somebody else (with taste Wink) does all the work and you can just click! Can't wait until they arrive, another bitterly cold day here. Your fringe is fab, I would do the same if my hair was straight but it would just frizz.

Lib like Topaz I am obsessed with stock and have more of it in the freezer than dishes to make. Interesting fish fact that my Italian friend told me: when doing salt crusted sea bass you leave a hole around the eye so that when it goes white you know it's ready.

Georgina am doing shred too. On level 2, haven't dared look at 3 yet.

Santa I knew you'd be able to tell me something about the MM cube Grin. Thanks for advice but NOT for getting me to look at Loro Piana!!! Found a beautiful navy fur lined one but daren't even link it. The positive is that if I show dh that and the Moncler can emphasise the money he's saved going for the less expensive option.

Am waiting in for a delivery so doing some online Christmas gift shopping. Just bought 3 pairs of cashmere gloves from Johnstons of Elgin from this offer. Price is good and you can get monogramming on the cuffs. Think they will make lovely gifts.

GeorginaWorsley · 11/12/2014 09:47

maradesbois
Shred is wonderful.
Don't be scared of level 3,I actually find it easier than level 2.
Iv lost 16 kg this year with combination of Shred, exercise classes and MFP.

Sleepwhenidie · 11/12/2014 09:55

Loving all the boot imitation Grin - must arrange commission!

All you bakers - advice please...I want to make a clementine & almond syrup cake for the school Winter Fair this evening, recipe calls for a food mixer - which I don't have..I have an electric hand whisk and a food processor, will either of those be fine?

Sleepwhenidie · 11/12/2014 09:58

Dry - I managed to hold it together because thankfully it was panto, not adorable little ones singing carols - that gets me every time. DS2's reception class are doing the nativity next week. DS2 is narrator dressed as donkey Grin - will be funny and then I'll need tissues!!

shopafrolic · 11/12/2014 10:19

My mum makes cakes in the food processor Sleep - she uses one of the plastic blades I think Confused

shopafrolic · 11/12/2014 10:31

DS has his nursery show next week - they are all going to be cows. He keeps wandering around singing "Here we are brown and furry, standing at the stable door, moo moo mooooooooo". I think his teacher was having a good old chuckle writing that one Hmm Xmas Grin
