Afternoon all

Brrr, it's chilly today. Wearing a navy oll neck (all the rage), my favourite j brand 910s (which are now 3 sizes too large and belted to within an inch of their life, I will have to let them go soon) and Isabel Marant high tops. Out tonight (quelle surprise) and wondering what will be warm enough!

Happy belated birthday to dry, a fellow Sagittarian! 10 days left of my twenties now....

OneLittleLady · 09/12/2014 16:11

Excellent pieces in your haul novice you absolutely deserve every single one of them

amber your 30's aren't so bad, they really aren't Smile

BrandyAlexander · 09/12/2014 19:05

Everyone is so lovely, thank you! Smile.

Yes, i had to tell MrNovice about the haul, because I decided to charge the cost to this new credit card he has, a cashback card. For some reason known only to him and Amex Hmm, it's only got a 5k limit on it. So i charged it, thinking, well he can get the cashback, then thought, "crap what if he goes to spend on that card and finds I have used it all up and he gets embarassed" so decided to 'fess up. I am such a good wife. Smile.

Lib, I am so pleased you are all chilled out too. Lovely to see xx

Right, I am off to a drinks thing now, shortly, then will escape to the sanctuary of my lovely Christmassy smelling house!

LinusDKD · 09/12/2014 19:11

novice your hauls are always impressive. I am especially Envy of your MaxMara scarves.

Oh and I dug up my Diptyque Pomander candle yesterday and lit it so the house smells all nice and christmassy.

shopafrolic · 09/12/2014 20:13

Sorry for the DM article but worth a read

DryWhiteplease · 09/12/2014 20:52

Interesting shop but the only outfit I actually like is the red and burgundy L K Bennet dress not the point I know Would wear that outfit.
Do you remember the autumn I was going to wear cobalt and bright green, then red and fushia? Totally bottled it. I think total colour bombing technical fashion speak is hard to get your head round. I prefer to mix a neutral with one item of colour. I'm boring. I have noticed how many black, grey and denim blue bottoms I have. Loads of colour on top.
And shop was at a meeting at school tonight and noticed at least 2 mothers wearing red lippy.....I did NOT ask them if they were wearing their Christmas lipstick Xmas Grin looked great. I'm seeing a lot of it around, and I live in the PROVINCES Xmas Shock ignore your school gate.

And Santa do you think we will make the VS show next year? Wink

shopafrolic · 09/12/2014 21:18

I liked that dress too Dry. It is true that colour can make you feel happier though.
In music news I am LOVING Uptown Funk which Fleur sang on X Factor last weekend. So catchy. Makes me happy too.
Will wear the red again tomorrow at the school gate - Sod it!

santamarianovella · 09/12/2014 21:38

Maybe they are lurkers on here dry? Grin

I don't think Im suited for bright coloured clothes, let alone clashing brights, Doesn't suit my olive skin. I once did a stint in an office were the walls were painted orange ,it felt like I was inside a bottle of fanta Grin, I was asked frequently if I was ill by some of the workers,I had to point out that I'm fine but its the colour of the walls, Horrible!

QueenCardigan · 09/12/2014 21:50

Evening all. I'm with dry and will do colour happily with a neutral of grey or navy. I may even add in a different coloured bag or belt but I just can't do coloured trousers.

Manic here-the Christmas plays have started and little dd decided to cry all the way through hers today. Friends coming at the weekend so trying to get organised with shopping, beds etc as well as finishing present shopping. Feeling a little bit stressy today. I'm wondering if my period's due but as I've been bleeding/spotting for a month who knows Hmm.

OneLittleLady · 09/12/2014 22:14

Going against the grain here and admitting that I'm quite happy to 'colour bomb' I don't do it all the time though, I do wear a lot of neutrals with bright colours too. I doubt any of you are all that surprised though, I do tend to lean to the odd/quirky side of dressing. That reminds me, i found some glitter thread tights in my drawer this morning, too early or should I wait for Christmas Eve?!

bettykt · 09/12/2014 22:48

QueenC Flowers your dd aw bless her, it can be a bit overwhelming seeing all those faces looking at you.

As for colour, I can happily wear a yellow tank with an orange cardi in summer but can't do it in winter. I have to wear black/grey/neutral in winter but have introduced olive and plum. I also substitute black for navy in summer but I can't do navy in winter Confused In fact I've been thinking about how to dress better in the summer longing for some sun

Santa Grin

DryWhiteplease · 09/12/2014 22:54

True Betty there are plenty of colours I'd wear in summer but not in winter time.
I really want to get into navy. It's a much kinder alternative to black and equally versatile. Where to start? A work dress would be good. Navy skirt too.
Feel as if my house is going to take off......big winds here.

Hello,

Popping in to wish Dry a belated happy birthday Flowers. Glad you had a lovely time. Xx

We had a fantastic weekend away, good friends, lovely hotel, great restaurants and I discovered a new wine via dh. Franciacorta, it's an Italian sparkling wine but made using the champagne method. Lovely, will send you a virtual birthday glass, nay bottle dry. Salute!

Novice wow! Amazing stuff. Can feel the steam coming off the credit card and out of MrNovice's ears Grin. Only joking, enjoy your hard-earned and well deserved bonus.

Liberty how did I miss that you were away in the sun??? Thought you were in Ireland! Have a fab hol.

QueenC glad you had a great weekend away. Love the bag, remember you trying Betty's at the mu and it really suiting you.

LinusDKD · 10/12/2014 07:49

Morning!

Brrr, it's freezing here but at least the grey sky has finally gone.

I'll have to buy a headband or wear a woolly hat on my runs from now on as my ears nearly froze off today.

mara sounds like you had a perfect weekend away!

OneLittleLady · 10/12/2014 07:55

Freezing here too. Just getting ready for the day, really just want to crawl back into bed though! Must get on though, must get on

BrandyAlexander · 10/12/2014 09:29

Blimey Linus! I can't run outside between October and about April as I get too cold. All respect to you!

Welcome back Mara, glad you had s great time.

Wearing Roland Mouret dress with zip all the way down at back. MrNovice very appreciative.....Good for him to focus on that and not his CC bill.Wink

maradesbois · 10/12/2014 09:59

Linus running outside in this weather. You are hardcore!

Novice Grin at your tactics.

Off to docs to get my no 11 lines 'done'. Someone on here was thinking about it. I go twice a year, don't do anything else but have heavy frown lines and think it really helps without hindering facial mobility.

BrandyAlexander · 10/12/2014 10:44

MrNovice is in meetings. He's texted me "You look hot in that coat and dress". CC bill clearly not on his mind!Wink

Sleepwhenidie · 10/12/2014 10:58

Morning everyone, its a beautiful but freezing day here today - are you still there Dry??? Very glad to have my new Woolrich parka, it is so cosy! Also got some snow boots that I left too late to buy in my size last year and I love them, wearing them as I MN, with Preen patterned pants and black sweater.

Novice - fantastic spree, it was about due Wink!

Linus I bet you feel great after running in the cold - I get earache whenever I try Sad. I am still coughing and hacking, went kickboxing yesterday but I think maybe another day off today, give myself a chance to recover a bit more. Speaking of domestic goddesses, I made a gingerbread house on Sunday with the DC's, it's a bit tumbly down due to my clearly rubbish stencil making but its amazing what you can disguise with a load of chocolate buttons and jelly tots!

DD's play this afternoon, I don't know which of us is more nervous probably me.Grin

MarshaBrady · 10/12/2014 11:10

They look good Sleep I want some boots like that too. Should just order some really instead of dithering.

Linus I'm a cold weather runner too, I prefer it, but I get so hot normally. I do need to start with more layers though. I remember running in the Boston snow once, I didn't have enough on and I was purple and yellow when I got home Blush

Novice amazing stuff! Love all of it, the scarf looks so snuggly.

Mara welcome back.

I have deliveries all day and gas man and waiting to do the cold sunny run today, I hope I have a clear window.

MarshaBrady · 10/12/2014 11:12

On bright colours I couldn't do any of those combos. But have been through the bright period of 2014, not entirely intentional. Two small items I can handle (bag, t) but three is too much.

Wardrobe feels about right now, a mix of grey, navy and a few bright things.

LinusDKD · 10/12/2014 11:24

Well, the sun is gone Sad but the cold has stayed.

I do like running in the cold, it's running in the rain I hate and refuse to do

Those boots look great sleep! I love my Ugg Adirondack (sp?) boots in winter. I bought them when I was very pregnant with DS in London and I could hardly do up the laces because my legs were so swollen. Grin

Oh mara that's interesting. How do they 'do' your 11's? Just a couple of jabs?

MarshaBrady · 10/12/2014 11:26

My least favourite is wind.

shopafrolic · 10/12/2014 12:04

Marsha in isolation your last post made me Grin
