marsha I can't look at your outnet stuff as it wants me to sign in.
sleep I might make that cocktail too. Sounds yum.
amber even I would say bollocks to casual for an Xmas night out.

MarshaBrady · 05/12/2014 10:00

QueenC I like long posts like that, here's links to pin instead.

Erdem top too much, too strong? An attempt to break out of the normal gig, with a skirt. But might be wrong

I&I jumper maybe too samey, now I think about it. And could do with it at £30 for a real clearance price.

I think I was swayed by the outfit pics for both.

MarshaBrady · 05/12/2014 10:01

Thanks Blair you might be right, I could send it all back.

QueenCardigan · 05/12/2014 10:06

Hmm, not sure about the erdem. Its's something I need to see on I think...
Keep the black jumper if it fits really well but otherwise return as it's not special enough to keep.

MarshaBrady · 05/12/2014 10:57

Thanks QueenC yes they were all nearly right, not perfect but it meant I still couldn't decide! Might all go back.

Sleepwhenidie · 05/12/2014 13:28

Marsha I think you are right, the colour/pattern of that Erdem top is probably too strong for you. I&I..meh - I don't think you'll miss it if you send it back.

MarshaBrady · 05/12/2014 13:58

Thanks Sleep you're right, I probably wouldn't miss it. I must stop this thing with navy tops. I think it's the backlash from the Bright period.

Also I had to buy to link to get everyone's yay or nay, expensive way to do it Hmm. Thank goodness for returns! Grin

Just saw your post on the night, sounded really lovely, the food especially.

DryWhiteplease · 05/12/2014 14:04

Bugger...lost a long post this morning.
Marsha didn't see the price, but the black I and I would be a v useful basic. I'm nit the person to ask about the Erdem though.

Mara and liberty great packing! lovely outfits. Have a good time both of you.

Sleep so glad your evening went well.....love the posh cheese and pineapple!

Hello all

I am so tired, I'm not sleeping because of my rib, it makes getting comfortable very hard. My eyes are all red and puffy from lack of sleep, I look terrible

Have lovely times lib mara and QueenC*

Amber all your outfit choices sound v glam, I wish I had an excuse to get dressed up!

I wore my black sequin skirt today with a plain black cotton vest and red cashmere cardigan. I thought it looked good, slight nod to the 50's given the shapes but quite luxe, with the sequins and cashmere I'd be quite happy to go out in this outfit too. I was happy with it

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/12/2014 15:28

Sounds lovely One, very christmassy!

LinusDKD · 05/12/2014 19:19

Evening!

I had such a lovely day today. First lunch with DH in town (that's two weeks in a row, unheard of) and then some shopping.

I was on the hunt for the perfect grey scarf but unstead I found the perfect petrol green/blue scarf. At Hermès....

So I spent more than I was planning on spending but it was love at first sight. It is lovely and soft and big enough to use it as a wrap and the perfect colour for me.

I blame santa as she linked some beautiful Hermès scarves last week. I can't link unfortunately as I can't find it online.

I also bought some pineaple macarons at Ladurée (again santa's fault Wink ) so DH and I will be scoffing them in front of the tv tonight.

one your outfit sounds great! And sorry to hear you haven't been sleeping well. I have been suffering from insomnia lately but not because
I'm in physical pain but just because I am a bit preoccupied.

Nights of a couple of hours of broken sleep really don't agree with me (one of the many reasons why I am not trying to convince DH to try for a third
DC) Sad

shopafrolic · 05/12/2014 19:41

Lost a post earlier. QueenC I loved your long post Thanks
Marsha not loving the Erdem for you sorry. I&I could be useful but don't keep if you have a duplicate
I've had 3 macarons tonight before dinner Shock. Hope Santa has shares

BrandyAlexander · 05/12/2014 20:11

The people at the Hermès store in Bond Street are very friendly novice, I bet they could help you find a little something to make you feel better forget about hungover DH

marsha I love the erdem top ,but its one of those things that requires buying something to wear it with, so it turns out to be not such a great buy after all IYKWIM,

shop, sweetie, you have a fab figure, and you can wear anything. I think us the not so tallish need to pay attention because the wrong length can really cut us,and we look shorter than we are,but you
can get away with it.
You have a great style, but I think this whole new style thing + new season has made you more aware of your choices, so you don't want to break any rules or get anything wrong. I wouldn't mind wearing certain colour all the time if it made me look good.

I think I saw sleep today in selfridges Smile, I was near the melt concession on the ground floor, and I think you were on the opposite ,side near la maison du chocolat display, I couldn't see your pistol clad feet though! So didn't want to approach a stranger and say :hi sleep? Grin,

queen ,lib and mara hope you all have great time,

novice do it!

Glad to hear I'm a good influence on you all, sadly no Laduree shares, but will be happy with a life long supply Wink. And may I recommend the chocolate mint macaron for next time? It's delish!

I got the pre sale email from Selfridges< hence the quick dash to selfridges> so went to check if they have a marni skirt i was after, they do but not my size so i ended up ordering it from NAP, this skirt, feel bad! As it was there reduced but not my size, but I have an important < well for me> work lunch thing on Wednesday, with 12 other people so i need something to fit the bill, and it looks good for an Xmas dinner we are hosting next week and will wear it for Christmas Eve dinner. will milk the CPW out of it!

On my way home, these short day trips are killing me, all I want to do is crawl into bed sleep for 8 hours straight, no freaking way

WhattoWearNow · 05/12/2014 22:06

Hi - thought I would drop by as it's been a while. Need to post more - in fact need to be more proactive in life full stop. There - my new year's resolution! So:

  1. Tried to get onto the Outnet Clearance - gave up. Can you do my shopping next time Marsha?
  2. Tried to snag some MyWardrobe bargains - everything I like has gone.
  3. Found some lovely coats on Asos last night reduced to £28!!! In basket, went to pay - sold out....
Anyway - to distract myself I went real life shopping & discovered I do seem to be spending an inordinate amount of time browsing TK Maxx after I think Liberty's recommendation. Seriously you can lose days.... I did get some Whistles boots for £30, but I will never get those 3 days back....

Can i ask a quick question? What accessories do you wear daily? I wear stud earrings, bracelets, watch & rings (all costume apart from wedding & engagement rings) but am thinking less is probably more, although if I had Novice's budget I would think more more more!! Also do any of you, who are over 40 have longer than shoulder length hair? Thinking of growing mine a bit (would love to look like Claudia). Can I do it at 43??? Probably need to get out more, don't I??!!
