How exciting One'and Dry bring on the 25th.

Hi to Topaz and Mara, glad you both had good weekends away.

Queen, I'd forgotten you had your Edinburgh weekend coming up. I hope you have a lovely time.

Pressure from the dc's means that our tree goes up usually around the 2week in December (it's being delivered hopefully this Saturday) and down on Jan 1st unless am too hungover as am fed up with pine needles everywhere by then!

OneLittleLady · 01/12/2014 23:16

I am in a state of wondering right now fedup I can't work out how he managed to sneak anything without me seeing anything!

I don't have a tree, the naughty, mischievous OneCat does not like them so we can't have one as she just pulls it down, steals the baubles and runs off with the tinsel no matter how I try to stop her. I have other things though so they will suffice

LinusDKD · 02/12/2014 07:41

Morning!

Eurgh, another grey dreary day here. So depressing.

Well done MiniDry! I hope your DH gets the hint.

Spitalfields Market brings back memories one. It was soo different when I first moved to London and then a couple of years later they completely renovated it.

I liked it a lot as my office was on Bishopsgate so all the new shops and restaurants were on my doorstep and I spent many a lunch hour there.

Wearing my Jimmies and a Rails shirt today and probably my bikers when I go out. Not sure they work with the Jimmies but I'll give it a go.

Oh and I ordered the J Crew turtleneck last night in Deep Sea. I just couldn't resist as it was free p&p and 30% off and I have been lusting after one since last winter.

I just hope it doesn't make me look like a rugby player! Grin

AmberNectarine · 02/12/2014 07:45

Stokey I'll have a look today after I drop DD at preschool.

Brrr, freezing here today. No motivation to get out of my dressing gown (other than impending school run, which I won't be doing in my nightwear). Decorations now up and glittering. Feels very festive!

Feel the present pain. There are My-W and Harvey Nics boxes taunting me in the hall, plus I'm not allowed to get my mitts on the NaP order as that was paid for by DH as part of my gifts (though he has said I can take the De Manta to the Xmas Party). And then he spent Sunday evening ordering stuff on the laptop and asking me cryptic questions about my dress and shoe size. Arrrgh . Still, only 2 and a half weeks to wait so best cling on to my 20s.

DryWhiteplease · 02/12/2014 07:56

Wow Amber pressies sound exciting. Is your birthday soon too?

Re bracelet, what I should have added was, when I showed her, she said " that's disgusting Mum, thought it would be gold" Sad chances are slim

Nativity rehearsals again this morning, my collegue has turned into Oscar worthy diva director......"mice! Mice! Where are the mice? Melchior! Louder! Etc."....Grin I had to confiscate a sheep yesterday. Love it!!

one little lady
I know what you mean re premium denim, I'm only size 8 but it still frightens meSmile
I like Mint Velvet or Whistles for jeans now, soft and stretchy but don't fall down or bag like cheaper versions.

shopafrolic · 02/12/2014 08:59

Morning all. Dry my DH is coming oooooop North (your way) tomorrow for shooting. What's the weather like ATM? x

BrandyAlexander · 02/12/2014 09:18

DryGrin I always think the staff who do the end of term productions at our school are heroes! No bloomin' way you would catch me anywhere near 100 3 to 5 year olds!

Amber, I feel excited for youSmile how are you celebrating your 30th?

QueenC, you must be well excited for this weekend!Wink

No fashion news from me. My nails are embarrassingly chipped so need to redo them tonight. Thankfully my meetings all internal today. Next 2 days, I will have 2 of the most important meetings I will ever have - both with the boards of 2 of the biggest companies in the world. No chipped nails then!!! I am having outfit angst already.

QueenCardigan · 02/12/2014 09:31

Sounds scary novice. Yes, I sm very excited about this weekend although I wish the beard wasn't coming with us. I'm looking a mess at the moment but hair, eyebrows and eyelashes are being done tomorrow.

My dh has admitted he hasn't looked at my email re silver shoes. I might just bloody order them myself. Or drag him into top shop at the weekend Grin

AmberNectarine · 02/12/2014 09:33

I decided against a party and am going with what I like to call 'The Festival of Amber' which will be more intimate catch ups with smaller groups or, as DH astutely puts it, 'more opportunities to get pissed'. On my actual birthday DH and I will go to Winter Wonderland, shopping in Knightsbridge and out for cocktails (birthday traditions), then the next day he's whisking me off for a dirty weekend (not venturing far as it's the first time I've left my babies). Very excited about it all (less so about being 30).

novice my first thought for luxury Xmas jumpers was Markus Lupfer. I love this penguin one but there are loads on the site.

Stokey · 02/12/2014 09:39

Thanks Amber please don't go out of your way though Thanks. Wow 1984 was a great year - Wham, Madonna, big hair, big music.

Pressies are very exciting - DH was leafing through the Hush catalogue yesterday and seemed quite taken with the Hipanema bracelets which I encouraged, did someone here have one or try one?

LOL at the nativity play Dry. I need to try the Christmas pud ice cream, maybe combined with a real Chirstmas pud. Am completely confused by Ocado's Christmas sked though, they seem to have cancelled my normal weekly orders as i haven't booked a christmas one... annoying.

Miserable weather here, am wearing leather leggings, checked shirt and grey cashmere jumper. I was wearing suede boots and parka on the school run but got soaked so will be going for leather boots later!

QueenCardigan · 02/12/2014 09:48

My hof order has arrived and this top looks absolutely amazing on. That's Friday night and Christmas day sorted.

QueenCardigan · 02/12/2014 09:56

I also got this bag although only paid £36 for it from HOF. Such lovely soft leather. I'd been after a grey cross body for a while and I can see this becoming my default small day bag. It will also be coming with me at the weekend.

libertychick · 02/12/2014 10:02

Very pretty blouse QueenC. Gorgeous colour. I love Edinburgh - you'll have a great time. And yes, you should just order the glitter shoes and give them to him to wrap up Smile

Love that link Dry. We got the newsletter from DD's nursery last week and it said that 'this year, we will just have carols and Christmas songs rather than the usual play as some of the children have found it stressful in previous years' - that did make us laugh subtext the staff have had enough

Amber I can't wait to hear about your presents - sounds great.

Good tip about Whistles jeans Georgina I have a £60 gift card I need to use up - any particular ones you recommend?

bettykt · 02/12/2014 10:07

QueenC glad the top is a keeper and that you've got your outfit sorted for Friday night.

Amber your birthday celebrations sound fab, I vaguely remember 30

Dry we are in the throes of nativity here, lines to rehearse, songs to practice, strange combination of clothes to find etc I'm liking the sound of the mince pie ice cream. may pick some up to try later on.

Novice your meetings will go swimmingly, you're a pro.

Fedup thanks for linking the nail polishes, need to re-do my nails and fancy a change of colour

Linus I like the sound of your sweater, may take a sneak peek on their website.

One surprises are good.

I ordered from JCrew too yesterday but I want to wait for it to arrive before I link in case I need to return it for a bigger size.

All this talk of premium demin and Selfridges demin bar reminded me of the jeans I bought from there yonks ago, some True Religions, I've managed to squeeze myself into them, they look a bit dated, i.e they're not skinnies, but are so comfy and a great fit, I'm wfm so they'll do.

bettykt · 02/12/2014 10:09

gah

libertychick · 02/12/2014 10:14

V nice bag QueenC great price for leather.

libertychick · 02/12/2014 10:16

And yes, meant to say, novice you will be great at those meetings.

LinusDKD · 02/12/2014 10:24

Love that blouse queenc! Is that maybe an option for you shop?
And great bag!

novice those meetings sound scary but you are the ultimate pro so you'll be great.

You're birthday celebrations sound great amber! And weekend away with DH especially. Wink

I only just turned 39 but I have already been thinking about my 40th (gulp) next year and I would like to have a meal at Tom Kerridges restaurant and then stay the night there as well. Hope DH remembers my suggestion, come to think of it, he'll probably have to book already.

DC have their nursery Christmas party tonight and of course DH is traveling so I have to take them by myself.
Shame I can't have a stiff drink beforehand as I'll be driving. Sad

LinusDKD · 02/12/2014 11:12

shop this is over budget but 100% silk

It is very versatile and you can dress it up or down

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 02/12/2014 11:13

Hello all. I've had a very busy week and was away for the weekend, nice to be back and hearing all about everyone's Xmas prep. We are not at home for the holidays at all, so will have the usual small tree but that's about it.

Linus we went to TK's pub in April this year for our anniversary. We booked about 10 months in advance for Sunday lunch Shock but it was amazing. I have gone off him a bit now though, after reading some comments he made about women in the kitchen. Also I think the waiting list for accommodation is more like 2 years, but there will be other lovely places to stay in Marlow.

Lovely buys QueenC, that top and bag are both so you.

One really sorry to hear that you got hurt, some people are unbelievable. Funnily enough it often seems that people in London are more considerate.

I was good this weekend with all the codes flying around, but caved last night and sort of impulse bought a black biker jacket at 11pm. I have a brown Muubaa one, but it's really not me, and I think bikers have to be black. Does anyone know what the quality of the AS one is likely to be like? I thought the price seemed really good... even whistles ones are well over £300 now.
and I bought one of those and returned it 2 years ago when I first went to HoC

OneLittleLady · 02/12/2014 11:24

Morning all

Feeling very delicate today but am managing okay, doing a little studying this morning, trying to start sorting out my presentation ready for after the holidays

QueenC hope you have a lovely time in Scotland

Novice you will be amazing, you always are, chipped nail polish or not!

shopafrolic · 02/12/2014 11:39

Like that Linus do you have it? Any tips on sizing?

LinusDKD · 02/12/2014 12:05

Sorry shop I only have their shirts (which come up big)
