Novice sounds like you had a lovely day with dd. I too find it hard to fit in 1:1 time with dc, I try and take them out on their own even if it's just for coffee and a cake, they open up so much when their siblings aren't around.

Dry that mince pie ice cream sounds yummy.

AmberNectarine · 01/12/2014 20:40

I saw a pair of those Hoxtons in my local charity shop lib - no chance you're a 27? £5.99, like new!

LinusDKD · 01/12/2014 20:46

Those Hoxtons look great lib! What size are you?

I am tempted to order a pair but have no idea what to go for. My Paige Verdugos were a 28 but were too big for me.

libertychick · 01/12/2014 20:46

Thanks Amber but unfortunately I am not! Mine are a 29, I tried on 28 and they were just about ok but definitely couldn't do 27. What a bargain.

BrandyAlexander · 01/12/2014 20:46

Hmmmm. I know it's me, but I am a funny old creature! I have never spent that much on a pair of jeans. I am practically hyperventilating at the thought of spending that much on jeans even with the 20% off.Blush I still haven't even got round to spending any of my annual bonus yet, it's just been gathering dust. Dh says he's ignoring me as this phase won't last. I am really tempted not to spend anything in jan sales to just to really freak him out.Grin

libertychick · 01/12/2014 20:48

Cross post Linus Grin. I think you would need to go down at least one size from whatever you are in the Jimmy's, maybe even 2.

Fedupnagging · 01/12/2014 20:51

I wrote a massive post at 8.30 this morning and just noticed, its not there Hmm

One how awful, people can be very selfish; hope your injuries fade asap. I had a recent row conversation with someone who wouldn't give her toddlers train seat to an elderly gentleman who was clearly struggling. Said toddler was actually sitting on Mums knee, her coat having a seat all to itself. Disclaimer, I was standing too otherwise would have given up my seat!

Sleep love the idea of you all going as The Adams family.

Bettytk not sure which nail varnish you meant but these are the two I have recently linked:
Dark Grey
Lighter grey

I remembered today why I don't often buy mohair or cashmere clothes - after only 3 wears, I have shrunk this knit. Sad I can still get it on but it is even shorter now!

Yesterday, I broke a pair of reading glasses and last week a pair of FCUK sunnies. Have given up buying premium sunnies too.

Dry wish I lived near you - am sure you need some extra help testing those christmas puds!

Novice sounds like you had a lovely day with your dd even though she is unwell. It can be really hard sometimes giving a dc your complete and undivided attention.

Queen glad you are getting a cleaner to help out. It will be worth every penny I promise.

Fedupnagging · 01/12/2014 20:54

Phew, not lost this post!

Oh, and just so you know, I am not publishing my vital statistics on a public forum for anyone far too embarrassing

santamarianovella · 01/12/2014 20:54

novice from what I read, j crew sizing in General is a bit on the big side, just like gap.
You need to try different other brands/ styles.
My R&b get loose by the end of day but they don't go baggy.
I agree that once you try premium denim there is no going back.

LinusDKD · 01/12/2014 20:55

But I'm a 26 in the Jimmies! I can't be a 25 or 24 in Paige skinnies?!

My Leighs are a 28 and are maybe a bit loose but TS don't do a 27 and a 26 will definitely be too tight.

maradesbois · 01/12/2014 21:11

Hello there,

Been away for a few days in a remote place back in the old country Smile. Lovely family weekend without wifi, tv etc and particularly glad to miss all that Black Friday nonsense. We went for long walks cooked, lounged by log fires and played board games. Junior monopoly can get very competitive!

Have just had a brief read of the thread, glad you're all getting into the Christmas spirit. Tree and home made decs sound fab Shop as do Dry's tasting sessions. Bra stuff is intriguing, going to measure tomorrow.

Away again next weekend, dh has put his foot down insisting on hand luggage only due to flight timings. Going to see about putting together a capsule wardrobe. Think it was Betty who mentioned whittling wardrobe back to fewer but quality items. That's my mantra too unless there's anything amazing on Outnet, haven't looked for ages.

One sorry about your fall. Hope you're feeling a bit better now. Can still remember nearly crying at the airport once when nobody offered me a seat in the lounge when I was noticeably pregnant. I'd always book one for long train journeys though.

Topaz hope you had a nice weekend.

BrandyAlexander · 01/12/2014 21:15

£5.99?! Omg! I would take them if I were a 27!Shock

Lib, so would I be a 25 then? so tempted! You're right Shop but I'm a wuss!!

What everyone is describing about ds' is so true of mine. He's a clingy loveable bugger. The last 3 months have just been so intense work wise and it feels like the lovely time we had in the summer has been slowly eroding. It's depressing but at least the 3 month grimness is over and it's back to doing school runs and bed times most nights, which is bliss.

shopafrolic · 01/12/2014 21:33

Linus true to size. Mine is a medium. Seems to wash ok (although I think it said dry clean only). Is it in the sale? Can't see I on the UK site.

LinusDKD · 01/12/2014 21:45

If you search for Cambridge you should find it shop

Am tempted but I don't really need it and cableknit can make me look chunky.

QueenCardigan · 01/12/2014 21:47

mara I'm doing hand luggage only this weekend. Really not sure what to take. I'm assuming that it'll be cold in Edinburgh so would ideally have my Barbour but I don't want to wear that out on Saturday night. Decisions, decisions.

I'm not measuring myself either. Im obsessed enough by getting on the scales. I don't want to get obsessed with a tape measure too. My gap jeans are a 26 and I'm happy with that. Especially as I was in a 28 this time last year when I was still eating sugar.

I've decided to try very very hard not to buy anything now until spring. I really don't need anything else this season except those glittery shoes. There's also an ulterior motive as it means that I can spend in London in March Grin

libertychick · 01/12/2014 21:47

You might even need a 24 novice but definitely get 25 rather than 26 if you are going to try them. Same advice to Linus Smile

Topazandpearl · 01/12/2014 22:07

Glad your weekend went well mara, it sounds lovely. Have a lovely next weekend too. It was lovely to see you last week.

I had a nice time catching up with family and a good friend (avoided B'town lib so no waves this time Grin) . It must be an Irish thing about the tree as I still feel that it shouldn't go up until the weekend before Christmas and should stay until the 6th. However, I too have had to compromise and have agreed on the 14th. DH has also over the years convinced me that it should come down before we go back to work (which means the 4th this year).

one what horrible people! I hope you are ok.

Fedup I am with you on the measurements!

I hope your DD is better soon novice.

queen, in case I don't say it later in the week, have a lovely time in Edinburgh. I would take the Barbour (and wrap up warm) and remove it when you get to your night time venues, but then I cannot do cold.

I know there is more I wanted to say but if I go back I'll lose this, so waves to everyone else.

BrandyAlexander · 01/12/2014 22:09

Blimey QueenC is that the difference sugar makes?!Shock

My intake of sugar wet up drastically (for me) when I breasts fed ds (didn't happen when I bf dd). I haven't made it back to my pre-baby sugar levels. I stopped bf him 2 years ago.Hmm

Those sparkly shoes are just divine. I could soooo break the non-spending habit for those shoes!!

Wave to fedup and Mara by the way!

Stokey · 01/12/2014 22:09

Oooh Amber if they're still there, I'd love the Hoxtons in a 27. They're exactly what I bought after my denim bar trip in January, my first pair of premium denim.

BrandyAlexander · 01/12/2014 22:12

Lib there is no way on gods green earth I could get my thighs into a 24. It's where all the sugar goes.Grin

Wave to Topaz too.Smile

libertychick · 01/12/2014 22:16

Grin at novice.

Sounds like you had a lovely visit home topaz. I love that we have the same Christmas decorating rules.

DryWhiteplease · 01/12/2014 22:20

Took my leather skirt in to be shortened today. Love it.

Apologies to all Scots........I'm an idiot, but, as you know, I love your beautiful country [tbsmike] happy St Andrew's day.

Hoxtons Hmm

DryWhiteplease · 01/12/2014 22:23

Fedup you'd be very welcome to share my puddings.
Am wondering whether soaking mixed dried fruit and candied peel in brandy with mixed spice for a few days would be nice with ice cream Hmm might give it a go.

DD asked me which was the bracelet I fancy...........Wink

OP posts:
libertychick · 01/12/2014 22:28

Good work on the bracelet dry! wishes DD was old enough for reliable hint dropping

OneLittleLady · 01/12/2014 22:32

I am a little scared of premium denim, i strongly suspect none of them would be sized big enough for my hips. waist yes, hips no. Then again, I mostly wear skirts or dresses so I'm not overly fussed.

Am trying to work out what Dp sneakily bought me for christmas while we were at Spitalfields Market on Saturday. I know I saw lots of lovely things and he won't even give me the tiniest of clues! how cruel is that?!
