queen my newest is a cleo by panache best fit of about 8 different brands and/or styles i tried. i find that i can do up 30s on the tightest straight away but 28s are tight on the loosest hook! so i think the message is clear- lose a few more lbs!
i have a vv old fur leopard print coat from river island i may be tempted to bring it out again this year.

LinusDKD · 30/11/2014 16:53

Have these been linked queenc?

GeorginaWorsley · 30/11/2014 17:57

You do trickster

If it's cold this week I'm going to wear it with black skinniest and black heeled ankle boots.
no Pat Butcher earrings thoughGrin

QueenCardigan · 30/11/2014 18:50

Ooh linus the black ones were linked ages ago and I didn't like them because of the gold metalwork. I could probably put up with the gold metalwork on silver shoes though. I like the heeled ones too. Think they're nicer than the next ones.

Drywhiteplease · 30/11/2014 19:09

Went to our local designer outlet today.....very restrained. It was rammed. Horrid. But I did go to the Radley shop and saw the medium Grosvenor that QueeC and topaz (?) have . Love that style.
Have had a relaxing afternoon planning Christmas Smile and ordered Christmas puddings so we can have one every week up to Christmas Smile

Good grief, poor dd is sick now. Poor thing is currently sleeping. I am on the Advil so relief from sinusitis. It's going to be a long night.

Marsha did you get rid of your wedding dress?Shock

Sleepwhenidie · 30/11/2014 22:09

Hi everyone! Crazy weekend here, SIL family with 3 boys visiting, we went to see Matilda yesterday - totally fabulous, a must see - and went to the Lego exhibition at Excel and on the cable car today - really fun, the kids had a blast.

Marsha - sounds like I was being v wise at MU but I don't remember BlushSmile. Sounds like good advice anyhow and I am following it myself and ebaying a pile of stuff to raise cash for a Woolrich coat. Included in the pile is my lovely IM Monty jacket which I adore but as a (Marant Hmm) size 36 it was always a little too snug under the arms and it means I don't wear it enough - comes back to the fascinating back size chat. (I am 31.5 under and 37 over - same as you I think Lib and exactly the same issue with bras!) I think the gym plays a part, stuff like lat pulldowns and pullups will be surely contributing, what do you think Santa? My waist is far from 25.5 Envy, smallest it has ever been is 28 and it seems determined to be 29" and hips 37, I wear 26 jeans but they have never been even slightly loose Grin. I hope to find a pre-loved Monty in a 38 next year in case anyone spots one!

We have decided on fancy dress for NYE.....drum roll....The Addams Family! Now I just have to get the kids on board so have ordered the DVD to watch. Also this dress for me and have my eye on wigs and black dress with Peter Pan collar for DD. Boys should be easy, but (bald) DH needs persuading to be Gomez rather than Uncle Fester Hmm - should be enough to suggest that there won't be any fancy dress antics in the bedroom afterwards a la Santa in her catsuit Wink.

Welcome Georgina

Novice sorry to hear about DD, how is DS? Sounds like our house a few weeks ago Sad

One sounds like you are feeling better, I'm so pleased Flowers

libertychick · 30/11/2014 22:54

Interesting we measure the same on the bust sleep. alas my hips are a lot wider, I am afraid to measure but the slimmest they have ever been is 39 inches and I am guessing they are about 43 ATM. Addams family is a great nye idea - you will rock that dress Smile

novice when I went to the denim bar in Selfridges I got great advice on fit. They should be v tight when you buy them. They are too tight only if the zip is straining. If you can pull them out by more than an inch at the back then they are too big. The guy said the higher the rise the smaller you need to go so I was generally a 30 but fit 29 in high rise and needed 31 in lower rise etc. So you might feel more comfortable in higher rise jeans in a 24 or 25.

QueenC I absolutely love and adore that blue DVF you linked for us. Shall we go halves and share it? I will just have to deal with the minor issue of being 2 sizes bigger than you Grin

OneLittleLady · 30/11/2014 23:23

hello all

Am back from a fab weekend which was marred only by the selfish, selfish behaviour of people on the train. Train was v v full and I was watched while I struggled through the carriage, while I asked for the seats people were hogging and was refused and then watched as I had to go and find somewhere to stand. I took a nasty fall when the train was in motion and have both a sprained wrist and a sprained ankle now. A couple of people shot off to find a guard who until that point was nowhere to be found while another two guys helped pick me up and one of them held me up while the other went hunting through the other carriages to find me a seat, any seat. As it happened there was a seat free as whoever had booked the seat never got on the train and the guard said I could stay in it as no one had boarded for it. I am black with bruises from the middle of my ribs to the middle of my calf on my left side and my arm, wrist and shoulder are blue with bruises. I am an little angry rainbow!

Anyway, i am trying not to let it spoil what was an otherwise brilliant weekend, it's a shame that people can be so very selfish

sleep you will all look great as they Addams Family! Don't forget DD needs a headless doll Grin

novice hope you are all better soon

LinusDKD · 01/12/2014 07:39

one people can be such bastards sometimes!

I remember giving my seat on tram to a little old lady when I was 39 weeks pregnant. Everyone else was looking the other way and I really felt like saying something out loud but I chickened out. Sad

novice poor DD! I hope she feels better soon.

sleep great Morticia dress! But I must be measuring wrong because no way do we both measure 37 above the bust. You have boobs, I have very little. Wink

My waist is 28 and hips are 35.5 at the moment but I don't think they'll get any smaller. I think I'm a typical pear. Small on top and bigger on the bottom.
Wink

MNHQ !!!
It's Dec 1st, where are the little Santa icons?

Sleepwhenidie · 01/12/2014 08:05

I have to thank Dry for all the great fancy dress ideas too Smile we decided to do something for all 5 of us though and DH point blank refused to be a dalmation spoilsport Grin

One sorry about your fall Sad, thanks for the doll tip!

libertychick · 01/12/2014 09:07

Linus are you measuring 37inch on bust when you do the measuring bending over as per the bra intervention threads? Or measuring when you are in a bra? I find it hard to imagine that you are the same chest size as me Smile.

one your poor thing. It is funny how people behave on trains. In a crowd people tend to take less responsibility, they assume someone else should do it. Also as you look so young I reckon a lot of people will assume you are able to stand. In a crowd they might not notice the stick. I had a similiar problem when I was pregnant, I carried high and wide and just looked fat rather than pregnant and never was offered seats unless I wore my 'bump on board' badge. I hope you feel a bit better today.

libertychick · 01/12/2014 09:09

sleep boo at DH refusing to be a Dalmatian - Cruella would be a great outfit!

OneLittleLady · 01/12/2014 09:24

Morning all

I'm okay, just very stiff and sore but nothing that won't pass. You're right lib people do think everyone else should 'do it'. worst of it was, there were spare seats but people were hogging them even when i asked for them, as obviously, their bags needed to sit down and i couldn't find a guard anywhere. The guy who helped find me a seat just disappeared off so i didn't get chance to thank him properly and he even apologised on behalf of everyone else, saying i shouldn't have been treated that way. How very sad that he felt he had to say sorry for everyone

BrandyAlexander · 01/12/2014 09:24

Morning everyone! Ds is fine and in school. Dd had 3 episodes of vomiting before bed but the slept through all night.Shock She's off school but because she's quite perky I am on my way into London to meet my charity partner who has been at our school so getting his report back. This term I have provided all the school materials for the academic year plus feeding the kindergarten kids. The new school building is also in use which is cool. The kids now have lots of toys, books etc and have provided tvs, DVD players and educational DVDs. Hopefully charity guy will tell me it's all in use as opposed to been ebayed.Grin

One so sorry to hear about your fall. Thanks

Sleep love the idea of the Addams family!

We put Christmas lights up yesterday at the front and back of house. Our road is a bit errr refined read snooty and have this vision of the neighbours being v horrified!Wink

AmberNectarine · 01/12/2014 09:37

There is a road a mile or so away from us where everyone goes mental with the lights. I'm talking a proper tack fest. They do a collection on Xmas Eve for charity, all too fun, but there are a couple of houses that don't join in. I can't even imagine the po faces. We have some relatively tasteful star lights I put up in the kitchen window but that's as far as I go.

We are putting the tree up tonight - have made DH promise to be home from work on time. The Elf on the shelf arrived this morning bearing lego advent calendars. Kids were beside themselves. Christmas comes early for Mummy too today as NaP delivery and ipad are arriving!

OneLittleLady · 01/12/2014 09:45

I'm getting my Dbro to get the decorations out of the garage today! I can't get them myself but he's coming a bit later after Dsis has been to the doctors with me so I can get checked over.

I do believe I have a Darth Vader advent calendar on top of the tv unit, yes, it's all mine, Merry Sithmas Ladies Grin Grin

QueenCardigan · 01/12/2014 10:16

I've relented to dh suggestions and have got a cleaner again. I hate someone being in the house when I'm at home and I feel crap that I can't keep on top of everything myself. But needs must as in the new year I really need to get the living room sorted which is a big project.

one sorry you had a crappy rail journey. Did you have a seat booked or are you entitled to sit in disable seats?

OneLittleLady · 01/12/2014 10:33

QueenC I should be entitled to sit in the priority seats but even when I asked, the people in them refused to move. One even told me to 'get f'ed and f off' there were no guards to be found anywhere until well after i'd already fallen. I will not be travelling by that route again, I am going down for my birthday in Jan and am making sure I have a reserved, lettered and numbered seat both ways, I can't take the risk of hurting myself so badly again because of people and their selfishness

bettykt · 01/12/2014 11:19

One Flowers sorry to hear of you bad experience on the train Angry

Novice glad dc are better and have perked up, re: Christmas lights it's your house and you can do whatever you want, stuff the neighbours!

QueenC I've had to do the same and get a cleaner in, needs must as you say. What's the point of stressing over the cleaning when you can get help. My cleaning lady is lovely and I'm usually in the house when she's here but I'm always doing something, i.e. ironing, meal prepping, sorting out stuff etc I haven't got my feet up watching Jeremy Kyle while she sweeps under my feet!

Amber ooh that reminds me I put the advent calendars somewhere and now need to find them.

Sleep fancy dress costumes sound great, will have to see some photos.

Dry glad you're on the case re: Christmas emoticons, you tell them!

Liberty your trip to the denim bar is really tempting me, I could do with finding the right fit jeans and hearing about you and Dry talk about how flattering the Jimmies are, I could do with a pair, or 2.

Linus a very noble act to give up your seat whilst in the late stages of pregnancy, I was on the tube whilst heavily pregnant and my dh had to ask someone to give me a seat, everyone was staring into their newspapers. Perhaps they thought I was just fat, I've heard that happen before.

No fashion news here at the moment, just got back from the gym and still in gym stuff, whatever I'll wear it will definitely be warm clothing as it's bloomin' freezing, brrr

libertychick · 01/12/2014 11:29

Just got the advent calendar out here too. We are going on holidays next week so will do tree/lights etc when we get back on 14th Dec. I have to admit I am always a bit Shock at lights going up early. As a child my parents were adamant about not decorating until the last Sunday of advent and it was obviously well drummed in as I feel very strange about decorating early, I even think the 14th is early, it's our compromise date as DH would do it this week. On the other side, he thinks I am nuts as I insist everything stays up until 'little Christmas' on the 6th Jan while he thinks they should come down on NY day Smile

LinusDKD · 01/12/2014 11:46

Sorry dry just saw that you wanted to know what the wash was on my Jimmies, I checked Pinterest and it is Bennet.

libertychick · 01/12/2014 13:04

Betty I thought the Selfridges denim bar was great. All expensive brands though but there was no pressure to buy.

OneLittleLady · 01/12/2014 13:18

Have been for xrays etc, have got a badly sprained wrist and ankle and I've cracked a rib. No wonder I'm black and blue! Ah well, lesson learnt I suppose and it could have been much worse

Dbro has got out the decorations for me, waiting for him to come back in a bit so he can help me put them up as I can't climb to hang anything. The christmas throw is on the chair though, I could do that at least!
