brilliant brilliant night last night.i cannot praise the venue staff enough, they gave me one of the best spots in the house, provided a seat for me and i had access to proper disabled toilet facilities. i had an amazing view, had a security member looking after me who escorted me in and out.totally unexpected as well and i am planning to email the venue to say how pleased i was at the niceness and fab treatment i got.theres a lot of places that could do with taking a few tips from them

going to a record anx ale market today Smile Smile

bettykt · 29/11/2014 10:16

Novice sorry to hear you ds is still poorly and that you're not feeling too great. Hope you get through today okay.

QueenC I can't understand the Black Friday madness either. Sorry to hear you've had a shitty week too.

Liberty hope you have a lovely day out with your daughter, your outfit sounds v stylish.

Dry hope you're having a lovely weekend in Ldn

One glad you had a great time last night.

Am off into town with dc am wearing my plum Me & Em top with indigo skinnie and Pettys on my feet. Am not sure if the top is a bit work ish but I like it anyway and it's a lovely colour.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

santamarianovella · 29/11/2014 12:38

queen, the whole fighting over stuff was really bothering me too, so I did a quick search this morning in places like amazon and JL. kitchenaid is just %10-%16 cheaper, not much! But it's out of stock on amazon Shock
Of course the staub pumpkin cocotte I wanted is OOS,
But really not huge discounts more like %20 off,at most

Maybe it's the Tvs and gadgets that are considerably reduced?

I think any individuals caught fighting, should be fined for wasting the police time, i

one that's great, your post made me smile, you needed a breather after all the chaos going on, and that is indeed very nicely organised,

lberty have fun with mini lib,

We are off to the Xmas fair this afternoon,we are avoiding going to the main one as its too crowded, so we are going to a smaller one instead with a huge ice ring, which is a bonus . We've booked skating lessons for dd, her first one. fingers crossed its a tantrum free one.

libertychick · 29/11/2014 14:25

On train home. We saw Stick Man (was fantastic), lunch then made it to the Liberty Xmas shop. Mobbed!!! DD found two v v sparkly tree decorations, a gold glitter fairy and a red glitter butterfly and we escaped. Fun but I could do with a lie down now!

Drywhiteplease · 29/11/2014 14:26

Bonjour from Brussels Voguettes!

Over doing the Xmas markets with my family - been on the mulled wine and the fizz, feeling v festive. Wearing a new dark green Topshop dress and black suede OTK boots which has met with great approval from DH Wink

Picked up a lovely chunky knit bobble hat with a fur Pom Pom from the markets, great value at €15!

Have to confess I did order a mini ipad online in the Black Friday sales as mini is a first generation and a bit heavy

Hope you're all having a lovely Saturday!

Fedupnagging · 29/11/2014 17:08

Quiet day on MNV today - it's that mega busy run up to Christmas for everyone.

One glad you made it to London and it sounds like you had a great time last night. Brilliant that you were so well looked after.

Queen sorry you had such a stressy week. Hope your weekend is better.

Novice hope you recover ASAP.

No Black Friday buys here. The waiter that served us last night said he went to tesco's at midnight and came away with a 50" TV plus can't remember what all for about £250 and no fist fights!

Lib sounds like you and your dd had a lovely morning.

Dry and Amber enjoy your weekends away. Both sound fab.

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2014 17:34

I have just thrown out such a huge pile of clothes I am torn between never shopping again - all that stuff! Or nearly starting from scratch.

libertychick · 29/11/2014 17:47

I hear you Marsha. I am feeling like I need to start again from scratch. Lots of clothes but still seem to struggle to put outfits together. I've decided my work stuff needs an overhaul and going to use the sales to do this.

Love the Brussels Xmas markets amber!

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2014 17:58

Lib I was ruthless. The only thing that has just escaped are some M by MJ black boots. Need to work out what to do with those. It was soo hard! But had to be done. The other thing is I can remember linking lots of it, which makes me eek.

Dh's turn, he now has to create his own mountain to throw out.

I like the sales plan, I've got a huge list of nice home stuff to add to that

Love the Christmas markets too, haven't done Brussels, but Berlin will be fun.

Fedupnagging · 29/11/2014 18:00

Oh yes, totally agree; my wardrobe has not fully recovered from the huge cull last January. Trouble is, I am now ultra fussy and will only buy things I really love and know will wear. So, in the end, I don't seem to be buying much!

Dh has just rolled in from watching the rugby in the pub. He is very merry! Luckily we are not going out tonight.

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2014 18:02

I think that's a good way to go Fedup I was thinking whilst in the supermarket perhaps I should just have a couple of each item! It won't happen, but I'm not building up loads of stuff again that doesn't get worn. Pointless having stuff just sitting there just in case.

bettykt · 29/11/2014 18:42

Funnily enough I was having a conversation with dh today about how less is more. I bought a MaxMara coat around 15 years ago it cost about £500 which was loads then but I still have it and it still looks fab, I think back to how many other coats I've bought over the last 15 years and how they've bitten the dust over time and it now seems good value.

I wore a charcoal chunky knit polo neck yesterday again by MaxMara and again around 15 years old and it looked great, didn't look old at all. It got me thinking that I want to buy more quality timeless items that will last rather than lots of cheaper items. I just want less clothes but of better quality and want to wear them more often. I just don't want loads of stuff anymore.

LinusDKD · 29/11/2014 19:24

Evening!

I really need to do a wardrobe cull as I am a hoarder at heart and I tend to keep things 'for when I can fit in them again' or 'in case I need old clothes to do some DYI'. Hmm

novice I hope you and DS are feeling better.

amber if you have some shopping time in Brussels go to the Rue Dansaert, especially a shop called Stijl. getting all nostalgic as DH and I lived in Brussels when we first moved in together

shopafrolic · 29/11/2014 19:31

Oooooo. I want to know what was in Marsha's to go pile?
Does anyone know where Claudia's dress is from tonight? Love it.

AmberNectarine · 29/11/2014 19:51

Not sure I'll ever shop again Linus. I got the NaP sale preview email this morning and got a little carried away. Ahem.

libertychick · 29/11/2014 19:59

I really want to know what you bought amber Smile
Betty Marmara coats look great. I am not surprised yours is going strong for so long.
Linus I hoard t-shirts and jumpers for gym and lounge wear. I also keep things because I feel guilty for not wearing them - daft.

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2014 20:01

Shop it's all gone! I'm a bit scared to list it all a) in case it makes me go to the bins cough or b) someone says I would have had that! But I will say, I wasn't wearing it, no one here would either. It's too old.

3 jackets to charity swap shop

  • Saba - the oldest item I owned - over 20 years. First work jacket, black, part of a trouser suit. Blonde in a suit back then. Oh how times change Grin Anyway that's gone, and even the charity shop said er we can't exchange this it's too 'vintage'. Be gone
  • See by Chloe coat, too big and black. Bought after pg and just looking very tired, replace by oversize Marant
  • Bruno tweed jacket, gone, too tweed and not very me, replaced by the Marant jacket

Then that pink I&I jumper, Bruno burgundy skinnies, those cord skinnies - coloured cord skinnies are a bit out aren't they? Loads of very old stuff, jumpers and tops that I kept just in case I changed size drastically or for DIY, so same here Linus

Dusty yucky stuff. And then all the cupboards and dc room. Dh has gone for more industrial bin bags. So much stuff. And we were going out as the dc are not here but have been doing this for hours instead. Blimey. But we did have the longest most indulgent lunch out yesterday, so probably can't do two days in a row really.

I feel guilty too Liberty about not wearing it, crazy.

Betty yes to MaxMara coats being lovely

Amber links!

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2014 20:01

Long post, whoops

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2014 20:05

Oh and a load of shoes / boots. APC ones, red suede ones, see by c boots, black boots. Trouble is I can remember linking all of them. But I also haven't worn them for over 2 years.

shopafrolic · 29/11/2014 20:11

Brilliant Marsha - better to be left with stuff you love. I wore my peacoat today. I don't love it anymore now I know my colours. Not sure what to do! :(

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2014 20:13

Oh no, but I bet you can get a great price somewhere? Would you want to try?

AmberNectarine · 29/11/2014 20:23

This clutch

These shoes

These undies (mainly because I wanted DH's blessing on the other stuff)
