amber you make a good point and i try to get most of my shoes with a code,as there is always a good one around, , , but like dry some things I like, never go on sale at all, even if the actual shop is on sale, they have some items labeled as "classics" And I always go for those! but it's the full price items that I hardly regret. I think about CPW,how will it work with my other stuff, more seriously when stuff are FP.

Of course some of the best item of clothing I have are sale bargains, like the petit bateau dress I found in the clearance rack, and the marant black tweed jacket, I got from liberty's pre sale

QueenCardigan · 27/11/2014 09:22

liberty speaks absolute sense. It annoys me that gap/boden etc have almost permanent discounts that surely no one pays full price anymore so what's the point? I will pay full price for something that I really love and know that I will get my wear from although I will always Google to try and find a code first. Sales shopping is only ever good if it's something you'd buy anyway otherwise I think you often just buy it because it's cheap.

Anyway was just on BR website and saw a couple of things for dry...
leather bracelet. I know you're saving for Hermes but wondered about this as an alternative for this weekend?

QueenCardigan · 27/11/2014 09:24

to go with your leather skirt?

AmberNectarine · 27/11/2014 11:56

Oh yeah. I agree. My taste is a little less traditional than most so I don't do badly in the sales, but as I said things like the disco and the rockstuds I had to spring full price for. Though I notice rockstuds are included in the HN discount, but mine are all sold out so I don't regret those. I think the key is not to get distracted by the discounts.

dry it's my 30th the week before Xmas as well so I've put in quite a long list!

AmberNectarine · 27/11/2014 11:57

Oh yes I meant to say that Aspinal have some lovely leather cuffs which you might like dry, if you wanted luxe on a budget.

libertychick · 27/11/2014 13:21

Those Aspinal cuffs are lovely. V tempted by the Athena one in grey.

Drywhiteplease · 27/11/2014 17:50

Oh Amber I love them, ESP this one it would go with everything.
Queen I love!love!love the BR lace cropped top. Really tempted but will wait for sale!!!Grin

I was reminded today, twice, about how lucky I am to have my dcs....some sad stuff around.

And...packing for my 24hrs in London. A big family do so no shopping Sad . I'll wear my leather skirt, a teal 3/4 sleeve knit with my bling tastic statement necklace, suede shoe boots and opaques.....there will be a photographer there to take family shots. Sadly the Disco will be too small.

If anyone sees a teal coloured fine knit natural fibres round neck or boat neck around I need to upgrade the one I have.

Evening! I had a great day, breakfast with Dh followed by a meeting to plan new work. Feel quite excited, hope it works out!

Wore my usual, grey skinnies and check jumper, grey pistols. The only thing is I btoke rank and had two double espressos this morning. I am bouncing.

MarshaBrady · 27/11/2014 17:54

Dry Sad for sad news. I like the sound of your outfit, fab.

Drywhiteplease · 27/11/2014 18:58

Had a fantastic MNV type convo at breakfast with DH :

Me " harrods have 10%off for reward card holders"
DH Hmm
Me "I must have bought something from Harrods once because I have one"
DH " YOU must have bought something ONCE?" Hmm
Me " but I can't remember my user name or password because I'd like to get something" see where I'm going?Grin
DH Hmm
Me " I could save myself £25"
DH Hmm
Me" there must be a helpline!" screeching
DH " A HELPLINE for people who want to spend money but can't"

Damn....must be less subtle.

Perhaps "FFS get me the SODDING H wrap for my birthday you dimwit" might have worked better but I'm not that rude Grin

Poor ds has been sick (mostly on me) for the last few hours. Dh with him now. Seems a little better.

AmberNectarine · 27/11/2014 20:01

dry in my experience men do not mind a little guidance via email...

Hi DH

Hope you're having a lovely day. Ooh isn't this lovely

< insert link >

I'd be very happy if I woke up to this on my birthday ;)

Love Dry.

AmberNectarine · 27/11/2014 20:02

You might want to add kisses/promises of depravity as necessary.

Drywhiteplease · 27/11/2014 21:01

Amber I did this last year and it worked v well, but this year we agreed on cheaper presents a sensible idea at the time because we have spent a lot on the house and have 2 iPhones to buy for our teenagers STUPID idea now which I have ignored when buying DH's birthday pressie tomorrow oops Grin

Quiet tonight. I've been out for dinner with friends. Too drunk to post more. You lot are ace. Back tomorrow x

Stokey · 28/11/2014 07:20

Morning all - I bought a couple of suoer cheap Christmas jumpers from H&M yesterday - surprisingly soft. This sequinned number was one and a black one with a leopard's face that I can't find online. I also tried this sequinned bird which was good too. And invested in some pleather leggings, although today's Guardian says leather is out & faux fur is in... damnit.

I still need a chunky jumper (bottom covering preferably) to wear with leggings but am uninspired by the Black Friday frenzy.

Drywhiteplease · 28/11/2014 07:49

stokey but the Times said, a couple of weeks' ago, that leather is BIG this season.

OP posts:
Topazandpearl · 28/11/2014 09:29

And I wouldn't fancy faux fur leggings......... Grin

MarshaBrady · 28/11/2014 09:31

Stokey The Guardian is probably lagging! Meaning you can reverse. Nice jumpers.

The black friday stuff is madness out there.

QueenCardigan · 28/11/2014 09:47

Morning. I'm feeling a little delicate today.

dry thanks for the pm. Love the first one but ime cotton knitwear loses it shape. BR have 30% off for cyber Monday....

mara thanks for your pm too. Sorry I haven't yet responded.

amber like you I send dh emails with links but I'm never quite sure whether he reads them properly or not. Must send another about the silver shoes.

santamarianovella · 28/11/2014 09:49

I wouldn't follow the fashion advice of a newspaper Grin,
And I'm not a big faux fur fan either,

Those Black Friday news articles are just crazy, who in their right mind would go and buy a TV from tesco at midnight Confused.

I feel sorry for all those officers, and Sales people working.

MarshaBrady · 28/11/2014 09:52

I know, it's such madness. Fighting over this stuff.
