And here's another cute I'm bloody sentimental idea I stole from a friend.
Do a memories jar . Get a big jar ( we have a kilner) and put a label on "Dry family memories 2014" . Put a little pad next to it and every time someone in the family does something ( holidays. Won match, piano exam, Guinea pig died, had friend over, went shopping etc...) write it down and put it in. Then, on NYE all sit down and read notes out and reminisce sob

Drywhiteplease · 19/11/2014 21:09

Marsha I remember the bauble breakage from last year

OneLittleLady · 19/11/2014 21:27

I too remember the broken bauble of 2013 marsha

I can't have a tree as my cat climbs it, pulls off and chews the tinsel, steals the baubles and generally does everything in her power to use it as a toy. I have now given up on having on and use alternative decorations. Little sad as I love a tree but i do have a vintage 80s hanging tree decoration with sants on it that my Nanan sent for my very first christmas that goes up every year without fail. It may be a bit tacky by todays standards and very battered but it's tradition for me, it's been up every year since I was sent it

OneLittleLady · 19/11/2014 21:28

santas not sants!

shopafrolic · 19/11/2014 22:01

Marsha I loved our bauble buying last year. I am in London on the 6th with a girlfriend helping her find wedding shoes so will try and do Harrods or Liberty Christmas shop then.
Dry round here I am known as "2 trees Shop"
Similar idea to your memories jar - when you take down the decs everyone writes their hopes for the following year on a piece of paper and then puts it away with the Christmas decs. Then, when you go to decorate the tree next year you can see which have and haven't happened - must actually do this at some point.

Drywhiteplease · 19/11/2014 22:08

That's nice too Shop may try that one.

shopafrolic · 19/11/2014 22:13

Watching Liberty documentary on catch up. Such great characters.

libertychick · 19/11/2014 22:38

I have recorded the Liberty docu - will watch at weekend. Love the memories jar idea dry.

Bought a dress in Monsoon today. Will link tomorrow. Haven't tried it on yet.

Hopes for the year idea also a good one though potentially depressing as I always wildly over estimate what I can achieve!

LinusDKD · 20/11/2014 07:46

Morning!

I love your idea of the special moments dry, I might try that starting next year.

And I also remember The Big Bauble Crash of 2013 marsha

You'll all be glad to know I did not sleep in my onesie (too warm) but I changed into my pj's before going to bed. And I might wear a vest top underneath next time for when I have to go to the loo.

Today I am going to try and wear my Jalouses with skinny jeans. I usually only wear them with dresses as they never seemed to work with jeans but some cuffing tips on another thread made me decide to give it another try.

I wish I could find some nice footwear that works with my Jimmies as I haven't been able to wear them now that the weather is too cold to go sockless.

shopafrolic · 20/11/2014 07:57

Morning all
Linus I wore my Jimmies yesterday rolled up with Pistols, I've also had them on with my New Balance and trainer socks.
Wearing this J Crew knit with GAP skinny jeans and Pistols today. So pleased I bought this. Amazing what a difference to my complexion wearing the right colours is making. No make up on yet and I still feel good.

santamarianovella · 20/11/2014 08:48

Love that sweater shop,

linus try the colts you have with jimmies, also R&B harrow boots seem to work well with more relaxed jeans,

LinusDKD · 20/11/2014 10:00

Not sure the Jalouses and skinnies rolled up is for me. But maybe I'll have to experiment a bit tomorrow when the DC are at nursery as I was in a bit of a rush today trying to convince DC that actually yes, it would be a good idea to wear their wintercoat as it's only 5 degrees outside

I can try the Colts santa but they are a bit too high for wearing during the day running after the DC. I might try them with my Superga as I don't own any NB's.

I am still regretting not getting a pair in my favourite colours when they were on sale but I thought they would be a bit too sporty for me at the time.

MarshaBrady · 20/11/2014 10:14

Morning haha at the great bauble crash of 2013 Grin. I must have blocked it out as I only just remembered.

I'm having breakfast out then I'm spending 4 hours reading mags whilst my hair gets highlighted and cut. I haven't done it for over a year - the colour that is. A bit apprehensive, I'll cry if it looks bad for the mu! Plus the cost of it

Stokey · 20/11/2014 10:23

Love that J-Crew jumper Shop

Atterley Road has some Xmas discounts going on off their partywear - a gold sparkly jumpsuit for the extremley brave.

I have now been on hold to Moorfields eye hospital for 39 minutes trying to reschedule DD1's eye appt which they cancelled yesterday - when do I give up? Apparently I'm 2 in the queue, but have only moved 3 places since I started, very frustrating. (sorry venting!)

libertychick · 20/11/2014 11:02

Wow that is an outfit for the v brave stokey. How annoying re Moorfields. I'd hang on and then call the PALS line after you have sorted it to complain.

I can't find my new Monsoon dress on their website to link. I really like it. A keeper Smile. Knitted cotton skater style, plain black top with boat / scoop neck and three quarter sleeve and a black on white leopard print skirt to just above the knee. Feels very versatile. Might even wear to MU.

Linus!!!! Flowers
I have been crying all morning as someone has hit my car (again). We live on a very narrow road in a village where people can't drive it appears. Your parcel has just arrived. Thank you SO much.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/11/2014 11:43

Oh God Shop how annoying, I take it you weren't in it and therefore are ok? Some people are just horrible. Or did they stop?

liberty the dress sounds lovely and perfect for you, looking forward to potentially seeing it.

Stokey hope you got through in the end. That jumpsuit is something else, anyone wearing it would look like a christmas tree decoration!

Waiting impatiently for the outnet to dispatch the final dress I ordered. I think it was a return as there was previously only 1 left in that size and I ordered 2. So whoever is returning it needs to hurry up!

Also, free delivery at the outnet is both a godsend (saved £18 on the dresses) and a bad thing. Now contemplating placing more orders for christmas presents and for myself!

LinusDKD · 20/11/2014 11:44

Oh good shop! (About the parcel, not the car Sad )

Btw, the scarves might need a bit of airing as they have been boxed up with all the winter stuff since the beginning of the year. Sorry about that. Should have done a santa and sprayed on some perfume. Blush

I hope the person who hit your car has left their contact details! If not, I spit on them.

shopafrolic · 20/11/2014 11:45

No Blair we weren't in it and they didn't stop. 3rd time in a year this has happened, with over £10k of damage to our cars since we moved here. Rubbish.

OneLittleLady · 20/11/2014 12:17

oh shop how awful about your car and the fact they didnt stop Angry Angry what awful rude inconsiderate responsibility dodging people they are Angry good youve got the parcel though

just had my study needs assessment now have to wait and see what gets approved for me.should be around or less than 3 weeks til i find out.hopefully anyway

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/11/2014 12:20

Oh no - does that mean your insurance premiums are crazy? :( I'm glad Linus's parcel made you feel better. Mine isn't here yet but now hoping it'll be today!

libertychick · 20/11/2014 13:16

Oh Shop that is terrible Sad. What utter bastards to just drive off like that Angry. I really glad you have the parcel from Linus to cheer you up.

shopafrolic · 20/11/2014 13:54

Yup - I will lose 2 years no claims bonus now and have to pay an XS for repairs. I don't understand why people don't leave details - really frustrating.
