Hello!

Following on from puffin faces lovely thread about great things you keep buying.

Everything I thought of was stuff which they have stopped making (or I'm too stupid to find it).

Mine are... This amazing rose scented peel off face mask. I used to do it weekly and it made my skin amazing. So soft (I'd love a suggestion of a replacement).

Simple make up remover used to be amazing but now seems to make my eyes stream. I've tried others but they all seem to make them sting, or go blurry.

Hmmm, there was another one which I loved but I can't remember it now!

John Frieda beach blonde gel that made your hair lighten in the sun. Was truly fab. But gone Sad

Gremlingirl · 03/11/2014 21:44

Another John Frieda one - lovely Funky Chunky blonde texturiser. Any suggestions for a replacement? Everything else is too gloopy or sticky or makes my hair look a funny colour or smells odd.

FishRabbit · 03/11/2014 21:47

Oh gremlin. My sil bought me something which was a texturiser... It was powder which kind of turned to something blobby. I'll ask her as I can't remember what it was called.

L'Occitane Olive leaf foaming cleanser. God, it was lovely. Sad

Superlovely · 03/11/2014 21:50

Vo5 motion lotion. Sounds terrible but I never had a bad hair day.

whattheseithakasmean · 03/11/2014 21:50

I had a beach blonde gold highlighter hair gel which was fab. It lasted me for years, then I left it behind on holiday and it has long since been discontinued.

It was great - in a tube, hair gel that also gave you gold highlights. Never seen the like since.

MrsBertMacklin · 03/11/2014 21:56

Another John Frieda one! The Weather Works range. Only high street product ever that stopped my hair from defaulting to it's naturally frizzy state in humid or damp weather.

BestIsWest · 03/11/2014 22:02

Neal's Yard Frankincense nourishing Cream. I have always loved this but just bought a new pot and they've re formulated it. Still smells the same and is great on my skin but it is much lighter now and I'm using three times as much.

Johnsons and johnsons used to do lovely clearblue oil absorbing sheets. They wete blue and sort of plasticky and very very effective. Oh how I mourned their loss talcy ones are not the same

ChrissieLatham · 03/11/2014 22:50

I used to like Nicky Clarke hairomatherapy range in metal bottles. Smelt amazing and hair looked great. They changed it to cheap plastic bottles, changed formulation, sales dropped and now no longer Hmm

RoyCroppersOldBag · 04/11/2014 11:54

Coconut I use some oil absorbing sheets like those (but purple) I bought mine from the local 99p shop, but have in the past bought them off Amazon - they are made by Kleenex and called shine absorbing sheets. Just checked and you can still et them off Amazon. Hope that helps

PrimalLass · 04/11/2014 12:33

Another John Frieda one - lovely Funky Chunky blonde texturiser

I mourn this too. It was great.

Mumraathenoisylion · 04/11/2014 12:38

Elizabeth Arden good morning serum.

Natural collection lip balms (from 10+ years ago) I think there was a raspberry sorbet one which was my favourite.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/11/2014 12:42

There used to be a gorgeous shampoo in Boots that was in a white cylindrical bottle (with patterns) and smelled tropical.

And , IIRC a St Ives conditioner, very fluid but silken

Micheal de Cesare Oat Wash and Emulsifying Conditioner Spray. He has revamped the range but not as nice ( shampoo smells like mashed potato now)

madamecake · 04/11/2014 12:44

Another John Frieda one - Brilliant Brunette satin shine creme. They still do a liquid shine serum, but it just makes my hair look greasy. It smelt gorgeous too, like a bounty bar.

SquidgyMaltLoaf · 04/11/2014 12:52

I miss Weatherworks! And the bleaching gel! What's with John Frieda??

leedy · 04/11/2014 13:08

No. 7 used to do a lipstick called Barely Plum back in the early 90s that was my holy grail MLBB lippie - perfect texture, gorgeous colour. They then discontinued it and I spent several months trawling chemists' shops looking for it to stock up. I had a brief hopeful moment when I saw a lipstick with the same name on a No. 7 stand some years later BUT IT WAS A DIFFERENT COLOUR.

Oh, and Lush's Spank Me With Saplings shower jelly. Not nuts about lots of Lush scents but this was GORGEOUS.

KatyS36 · 04/11/2014 13:16

Oxy blackout strips. The most effective ever.
The biore ones are nowhere near as good.

GeorginaWorsley · 04/11/2014 13:21

I miss Funky Chunky and Weather works too.Sad

Gremlingirl · 04/11/2014 13:22

We should send John Frieda a link to the thread and get all the stuff we miss magically reinstated.

Fubsy · 04/11/2014 18:21

Lush Glögg shower gel - a Christmas one that was out a couple of years back. It smelt boozy and rich.

Madaboutthrows · 04/11/2014 19:25

Check out home bargains for the Kleenex sheets. I bought some for under 50 p I think

Marylou2 · 04/11/2014 19:38

Estee Lauder twist up pencil eyeliner in the perfect shade of grey.Chanel have discontinued their Jade waterproof eyeliner but I do have 2 squirrelled away. Body shop lemon shower gel, don't try to placate me with Moringa. I'd forgotten about Nicky Clarke in the metal bottles, that was fab too.

Smize · 04/11/2014 19:40

I miss Funky Chunky too, has anyone found anything similar?

ItsGotBellsOn · 04/11/2014 20:20

TiGi used to do a shine serum called Shine Junkie. It was the only serum that has ever made my hair really shiny but not greasy. Gone!
