Hello!

Following on from puffin faces lovely thread about great things you keep buying.

Everything I thought of was stuff which they have stopped making (or I'm too stupid to find it).

Mine are... This amazing rose scented peel off face mask. I used to do it weekly and it made my skin amazing. So soft (I'd love a suggestion of a replacement).

Simple make up remover used to be amazing but now seems to make my eyes stream. I've tried others but they all seem to make them sting, or go blurry.

Hmmm, there was another one which I loved but I can't remember it now!

Lush Skinny Dip shower gel. It was amazing - half essential oils, half white chocolate and coconut. You had to shake it to mix. Twas the best smell ever, divine.

happyyonisleepyyoni · 04/11/2014 22:39

Revlon Flex shampoo and conditioner was the dogs.

MrsGolightly · 04/11/2014 22:44

Shine Junkie here too itsgotbells - how I miss that stuff.

ChrissieLatham · 04/11/2014 22:48

I found some revlon flex shampoo in a pound shop or discount store (forget where now) recently. The smell is just as amazing but it seems quite watered down, I remember it more gel like in texture.

ChrissieLatham · 04/11/2014 22:49

I've still got some sheer blonde funky chunky (hoarder!). Might have to try it out again after seeing all these positive reviews!

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 04/11/2014 22:50

Chantecaille Winter Bloom blush. The only one I ever really loved. GONE.

Poopooplop · 04/11/2014 22:51

Oh! I remembered my last one! It was a shower gel, maybe by soap and glory. It was green and was mint/chocolate and something else. Didn't smell like sweets but was so lovely.

leedy · 05/11/2014 08:44

Ooh, I'd forgotten about Skinny Dip - you're right, it smelled amazing and made your skin really soft.

Coumarin · 05/11/2014 14:57

Chanel coco rouge shine lipstick in Fetiche. The perfect my lips but better shade and the bastards discontinued it.

Also a Soap&Glory body scrub. Squeeze tube, quite runny and smelt citrusy. Could've been called Scrub Actually. It was amazingly good.

The worst part is that they just stop without warning so you can't stock up. It's like being dumped by text and then never contacted again. Bastards.

MrsToddsShortcut · 05/11/2014 15:10

Rimmel 'Rich Raisin' lipstick. It was a perfect reddy brown, gorgeous but not too bright. I loved it and wore it constantly. I miss it Sad

Back in the late 80's when I was a goth, and also at the height of the hairspray CFC panic, Vidal Sasoon used to make a plastic pump bottle hairspray. It was dark brown (the bottle) and the hairspray had the most beautiful scent of almonds. It was lovely.

Lastly, Body Shop Mostly Musk perfume oil. It was the most beautiful smell you can imagine. I pestered them for years to bring it back, but to no avail sadly.

KatherinaMinola · 05/11/2014 15:20

I desperately miss Body Shop's Japanese Washing Grains. Yes, I know if was only ground-up aduki beans but I can't find a grinder tough enough to make my own.

There was a lovely lip balm by Agatha Ruiz - used to be sold in Superdrug. Much better, stronger, shinier than Vaseline.

Superdrug also about 20 years ago used to sell a chamomile face toner type thing which was the loveliest thing I have ever smelt. Still mourn that.

KatherinaMinola · 05/11/2014 15:22

I liked Body Shop henna for dark hair too - I'm sure it's possible to buy something similar but haven't seen anything around.

RubyGoat · 05/11/2014 15:36

Boots used to do a shampoo called Maidenhair Fern, or something like that. It was pale blue/greenish, I think they discontinued it in the 90's. Best shampoo I ever used for my long hair.

Coumarin · 05/11/2014 16:13

Thought of another. Figs & Rouge organic rose balm. I used it as a cuticle balm although I think it was for lips. They changed the formula completely so it had a high petroleum content and it didn't work as a cuticle oil anymore.

Had I known I would've happily bought dozens of tins before it vanished. I use Burts Bees lemon butter now but it's not the same.

oliviafrombolivia · 05/11/2014 16:18

Barbara Daly's brown eyeliner pencil, just the right consistency, not too soft/not too hard.

Twinklestein · 05/11/2014 16:41

Clarins Instant Light Perfecting Touch, just bought a new tube and the new recipe is half as good. And smells of alcohol.

Citre Shine shampoo and cond, used to be able to buy it in Boots.

bluebump · 05/11/2014 17:29

That whole John Frieda beach blonde range, it was excellent. The lightening gel that actually did lighten your hair and not destroy it unlike sun in and the lovely smell of the range. I miss that loads.

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 05/11/2014 17:34

Lush Back for breakfast shower gel. I stock up occasionally when they do special "kitchen" batches though. And the entire of B Never too busy to be Beautiful. Used to love that place with all it's dinky sparkly little pots. The lush stuff just isn't the same.

leedy · 05/11/2014 17:39

Yeah, I think I need to keep an eye on the Lush Kitchen for any return of Skinny Dip and Spank Me (that does sound a bit rude). Do they do requests? Or do you need to join their forum, which seems a bit filled with frenzied soap addicts?

rockpinkpumpkin · 05/11/2014 18:35

Apparently John Frieda will make up the bleaching gel in his kitchen for his friends! only know by desperate internet trawling, not a stalker, honest Mr Frieda

cirrusblue · 05/11/2014 19:21

I mourned the loss of Barely Plum too leedy . Found nothing I liked to replace it with till I discovered Lipstick Queen many years later. Their 'Saint' brands are similarly sheer and between them the Saint Rose, Wine and also Mediaeval cover most of my needs.

cjbk1 · 05/11/2014 20:27

Alan hairomatherapy I can 'smell' it now, it seemed really luxury to my teen self, lovely on my hair which could do with some love now ??

cjbk1 · 05/11/2014 20:28
Wink
ChrissieLatham · 05/11/2014 21:27

I found an old sachet of Nicky Clarke hairomatherapy shampoo that I used yesterday. Still smelled as lovely, such a shame it's no more.

Was very excited that vanilla kisses impulse came back, although only limited edition exclusive from Superdrug. Have stocked up!

cocobongo · 05/11/2014 21:31

Lush Ibiza Party Shampoo- loved the smell of it. The current bunch of Lush shampoos are a bit "meh".

And Boots use to do a lovely coconut shampoo and conditioner forv cheap- replaced it with coconut & almond- it's not the same [rage]
