Was soooo tempted to buy this skirt but resisted as I wasn't looking for a skirt.

Very flattering and I loved the dark grey colour.

LinusDKD · 31/10/2014 18:59

Also tried this skirt as I love midi skirts.

It was gorgeous but a bit too long for me.

libertychick · 31/10/2014 19:06

Some lovely options there Linus. I have decided the leggings are not for me (have pm'd you shop). They don't do anything for my saddlebags funny that Smile

I should say TKMaxx is soooooo good right now. I was in the Hammersmith one today. Lots of Stella, HL, Anglomania, Temperley, Zadig, Theory etc. I could have spent a LOT. And great knitwear. Saw a fantastic grey cashmere long double breasted coatigan (some Italian brand). Was £200 reduced from £450. Was so tempted but really couldn't justify it.

libertychick · 31/10/2014 19:07

Oh have just seen your Cos skirt link Linus. I will have to try that!

AmberNectarine · 31/10/2014 19:35

lib you didn't happen to notice if they had any other leather leggings? Hammersmith not too far from me... Well done on that fab bargain!

Not much to report here, though I ordered a grey fur coat from warehouse last night and bought a jewel print neoprene dress from H&M today.

Fedupnagging · 31/10/2014 19:39

Wow, what a bargain Lib, shame they are not for you. Hope Shop likes them.

Love those LVR boots Santa - they would great with the black and cream skirt you didn't buy.

Nice leather links Linus esp the leather capri pants. After all that trying on, did you go home empty handed?

Hope you have a lovely weekend with dp One, and flowers, how lovely.

I picked up this top yesterday. It looks so much better in rl - it looks so drab in the photo. I will wear it with black ankle skimmers and the sam edelman Ollie's when they finally arrive. bored of waiting now

Also bought this and this which look fab together.

I tried on a few things in Cos but nothing looked right despite me loving the style. I don't think I'm the right body shape for most of their clothes.

foxysocks · 31/10/2014 19:58

wow lib so jealous of your leather leggings bargain! they sound like the HL pair I am after. my local tk maxx is AWFUL wish we had a good one

queenc hope your foot heals soon, lovely

so nice to 'see' you all again, I shall have to make popping back in a regular thing!

libertychick · 31/10/2014 20:29

Amber sorry I didn't notice. I'm quite ruthless in TKMaxx, I just focus on a few sections and zoom in on my sizes, I rarely tend to have more than 30 mins to spare when I pop in. That said there is a lot of HL stuff there, jackets, knits, tops etc so quite possibly more of the leggings. I didn't see any other brands of leather leggings and I went through jeans / trousers in the Gold brand section and Contemporary section in sizes 29 through to 31 and there was only one pair of the leggings. I'm a bit gutted they don't really work on me (damn low slung arse Grin), they are ok, I could do them with mid thigh length tops but for £200 (even with a close to £600 'saving') I'd be mad to keep them when I'd be limited in how I could wear them.

I really hope they suit you shop - someone else here getting them would be almost as good as getting them for myself.

Fedup I saw that top in Zara last week, it is lovely and I really like that BR shirt and jumper.

BrandyAlexander · 31/10/2014 20:50

Popping in to say hello again! Today I have flown long haul (I got upgraded to first!), had minor dental surgery and thrown a Halloween party for the dcs and their friends. I am in bed. Knackered doesn't even begin to describe it!

libertychick · 31/10/2014 20:54

Glad you are in bed novice. I really don't know how you do it. Well done on the upgrade!

santamarianovella · 31/10/2014 21:15

Wow lib! It's fate,I think the fashion gods had an intervention and decided that those HL leggings should belong to a mnver! Your Tk Max sounds amazing,

novice I bet you must be exhausted!

linus great links, the cos skirt looks nice, did you see any hipsters working there?

libertychick · 31/10/2014 21:39

LOL Santa it is like a fashion gods intervention! The last few weeks have been the best I have ever seen in TKMaxx (I regularly cruise several branches). I got my lovely dress, the navy All Saints cable knit scarf and the Theory cashmere sweater and then today the leggings. The Stella stuff today was great, I have never tried any before - really beautifully cut trousers (not in my size unfortunately) and I tried on a white shirt which was so good, I decided against it as it was a grandad collar and I look better in a proper collar, I have to keep saying to myself 'would I buy it at full price?' and try not to get distracted by the label.

Fedupnagging · 31/10/2014 22:08

Novice, I feel exhausted just listening to your schedule! Hope you get some rest this weekend.

Lib you are lucky having such a good tkmaxx nearby.

Santa, not a single hipster to be seen in the Cos branch I was in yesterday. In fact, the male sales assistant was very clean shaven and very very young or maybe I am old!

Sleepwhenidie · 31/10/2014 22:40

Hi all, I am hammered after a Halloween party - yes, mainly for kids but hosts had copious amounts of lychee martini and prosecco with chambord flowing. Coupled with the trampoline for the kids meant I've only just got home...think I may be sorry tomorrow, not just hangover but destroyed kids by such a late, sugar fuelled night! Grin

Lib I am v Envy of your TKMaxx visit, must get there myself. Leather leggings sound fab.

Outnet order arrived. Marant skinnies are waaay to skinny for me. Similar to Allsaints but no stretch whatsoever, not a fun try on session. Paige (p)leather with my neighbour as I was out....hopefully they will be slightly more forgiving, if not I will let you know Linus!

Drywhiteplease · 31/10/2014 23:14

Sleep I too am hammered after Halloween/last night of holidays party. I enjoyed dressing up but looked scary. I cooked haggis. not difficult and it almost slipped off the plate as I carried it proudly into the dining room to the bagpipes!Grin not overly keen tbh
Santa I would buy 2 of any garment I loved and could afford to duplicate.
Shop thank you so much, I'm so excited and loving my parcels! you're so kind xxxxxx
Warm up here too today.
Any Scots lurking, I love your beautiful country.
Have bought seriously warm coat with 30% discount. Not hugely. Exciting or fashionable but "tested to -32%", need one of them. Will report back after the epic journey southish tomorrow.

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2014 23:54

Am travelling back from centre of town. It was really lovely with my parents as it went on. Sad to say goodbye!

Went to the zoo with the dc, saw a show then dinner. Has been a great week doing loads of London things.

QueenCardigan · 01/11/2014 07:05

About to head off from here and head back down south. Meeting my parents for a birthday lunch on the way home (birthday tomorrow-woohoo, finally get my mitts on my grosvenor!).

foxy I agree, I can never understand how people find such good stuff in tk maxx. we have two and they're both rubbish.

matsha glad you've had a good time with DP in the end.

Hope the hangover's ok sleep!

LinusDKD · 01/11/2014 07:16

morning.

Hope everyone and their heads are ok this morning.

No hipsters or their beards at Cos yesterday santa but, to be honest, even though it is a very international town it's also very conservative boring and trends seem to arrive here very slowly.

marsha so happy that you had such a nice time.

fedup yes I did go home emptyhanded Shock

But at those prices the leather trousers need to be perfect. And I am still debating pleather as a kind of way of getting used to the look as real leather would be an expensive mistake.

That By Malene Birger skirt is still on my mind tough ...

Mominatrix · 01/11/2014 09:22

Morning, all.

Halloween was busy last night - had to do two different parties and trick or treatings. Timings made easier by DS2 wanting to leave early due to not feeling well. Not as fun as sleep's party, but still was a nice time. Wore my black leather leggings, cowl neck dark grey silk Velvet tee, dark charcoal flannel blazer, studded brogues, with a red lip and heavy liquid eyeliner. I topped this off with a witches hat and bright green long wig. A very MNV witch, I would say.

liberty, I live walking distance away from the Hammersmith TKMaxx and you have inspired me to check it out (can you believe I have never been there?). Will report back.

Glad the rest of the visit went well marsha. Family visits seem to always have their ups and downs.

Lovely skirts linus. I also would love to wear a midi skirt, but my lack of height makes me feel like a frump.

What does everyone think of this coat. I have it on hold in blue at my local Whistles? Fun or fashion victim?

shopafrolic · 01/11/2014 09:52

I think that is fun Mom
Morning all - loving all the party going. We had so many trick or treaters this year we had to go out for extra sweets!
I can't believe the goodies in Lib's TK Maxx - the ones round here are usually lousy. Am looking forward to trying the leggings - will have to ask DH for them for Christmas if they do fit.

OneLittleLady · 01/11/2014 10:05

morning all

no trick or treaters here, living in a flat with code locked outer doors means they dont come here Sad

just waiting for Ds to arrive as he's visiting today,i hope he doesnt get upset about my haircut

our tkmaxx is rubbish but theres one near where dp lives so will check that out next time im down there

hope all hangovers are short

libertychick · 01/11/2014 10:40

Never been to Hammersmith TKMaxx Mom!!!! Like all of them there is a lot of rubbish in there too - check out the Gold Label section - just inside the front door. The knitwear section is just behind that, needs digging through, but has some great cashmere. Then upstairs beside lots of rows labelled 'Modbox' (horrible stuff IMO - Lipsy and similar) there are two rails marked 'Contemporary' which has Zadig, Theory, Kooples etc - Happy Hunting! I didn't have time yesterday to check out shoes and scarves.

We didn't get a lot of trick and treaters but then I didn't leave out a pumpkin. DD had a really busy day yesterday and I wanted to get her to bed.

Studying today...essay deadlines looming...will take a break to get to the post office later shop!

libertychick · 01/11/2014 10:42

Oh and I have a sugar hangover Confused. I ate a lot of left over Haribo and mini Mars bars last night - bad idea.

foxysocks · 01/11/2014 10:50

I absolutely love that coat mom. i think faux fur is going to be around for a while. it was starting last year, wish I'd bought into it then but better late than never - I tracked down the zadig coat I wanted for less than half price on vestaire. first time I've used them and was impressed.

AmberNectarine · 01/11/2014 11:16

foxy you did buy into it - the ASOS leopard coat we born have, remember? I love that coat mom - had the lilac on my wishlist since I saw it at the previews but I haven't found an XS to try on IRL. The S was just too big.
