Meant to say thanks to Mara and Blair.Smile

Tomorrow is a nerve wracking day. It's a rehearsal of the event with actress etc.

LinusDKD · 07/10/2014 07:05

Morning!

Good luck today novice!

Shame Uniqlo don't deliver here otherwise I might be tempted by that silk shirt lib

one that sounds so painful! Does it affect you playing an instrument?

Very dreary day here so I am wearing my Goldsign skinnies and a J Crew painter tee. Yawn!

OP posts:
libertychick · 07/10/2014 07:30

Linus if you want one if those shirts I can order it and send it to you.

one I missed your post about your hand. Hope you recover soon. Sounds very painful and annoying.

novice I don't seem to have a pm from you. Don't worry about it. I will pm you.

Drywhiteplease · 07/10/2014 08:02

Good luck today Novice

According to the Times Saturday mag accessories special, I'm "bang on trend" with my knee boots today .....never went out here Grin. ° '

shopafrolic · 07/10/2014 08:05

Morning all - did anyone read WIT this morning talking about R&B kids sizes for grown ups today

MarshaBrady · 07/10/2014 09:42

Morning, on my way into town and meeting and wearing new Marant Etoile blazer. After misgivings and guilt factor I'm really pleased I kept it. Phew!

LinusDKD · 07/10/2014 09:59

DSis bought this cardigan for DD in Oz and I love it soo much I would like one like it. Anyone seen anything similar for adults?

I checked out the Country Road website but they only sell S/S stuff at the moment.

lib thanks for the offer but none of the Uniqlo colours suit me and the ones that do are the same colour as my Equipment shirts. The cobalt looks lovely for queenc if her latest purchase doesn't work out. And the teal for dry?

linus I've been told to take it easy with the instruments to give the muscles chance to knit. I think the worst thing is they've told me they don't know how long it will take to heal because of factors like the disease I already have. I suppose it's a good excuse for a rest though!

LinusDKD · 07/10/2014 10:21

Yes, rest is vital!

DH hurt his shoulder in July (an MRI scan showed he had some tears in the ligament but they weren't sure if they were old injuries or not) and it's still not healed and he's still in pain.

But with two small DC it is virtually impossible not to pick them up or play with them so he doesn't get enough rest.

Now all I have to do is convince him to go back to the GP as this has been going on for too long. Hmm

Quiet here today!

Stokey I forgot to thank you for your ideas about using the laptop at home. I have a very old laptop stand with integrated keyboard but it's too big and clunky for the desk. Your comment made me realise I should get a better one! I have just had a new keyboard arrive courtesy of amazon and tomorrow I should get my new laptop stand.

Stokey · 07/10/2014 16:14

Great Liberty - I really found it helped my back

That and pilates to try and discover my stomach muscles again!

libertychick · 07/10/2014 16:19

Oh yes, starting on my pilates DVD again is also on the to do list!

BTW would anyone like a full bottle of Aveda Black Malva shampoo. I bought it to try and deal with the reddish/brassy tones I have in my hair but it has more silicones than I realised and it has turned my hair to frizz - I have been doing the curly girl method. I guess it proves the point about silcones on curly hair Smile. If anyone would like it I'll send it on for the cost of postage (which might cost a bit as it's a full litre bottle) but will hopefully cost less than the shampoo does. Or if any of you dark haired ladies would like to try it I could decant some into smaller bottles.

OneLittleLady · 07/10/2014 16:45

Hi all. In incredible amounts of pain, even more so than the usual extreme pain I have. However, I managed to get some fab charity shop steals this afternoon, i got a long wool black and purple spot Hobbs coat, a black and white zebra print wool skirt from M&S, a navy button front Massimi Dutti wool skirt and a purple denim pencil skirt for the princely sum of £16. The hobbs coat is new with tags as well!!

libertychick · 07/10/2014 16:49

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain One - sounds awful. Have you ever looked into using hypnosis or NLP to help with managing it? Link here

Great charity shop finds!

MarshaBrady · 07/10/2014 16:52

Oh no One, that sounds bad. I hope it improves very soon.

Shop I meant to ask did you go for the Equipment jumper?

Fedupnagging · 07/10/2014 16:54

Novice, think I missed what you are upto today but sounds interesting and good luck.

Lib when is your presentation? Thanks for the shampoo offer but I will decline as am following your advice with the no silicones or parabans. Am currently using an argan based shampoo and conditioner which is working well.

One Flowers hope you recover soon. Also hope your dh gets himself sorted too Linus. Oh and love that all saints dress you linked last night One.

Haven't read WIT blog yet but am heading to R&B children's department tomorrow. hope there is some stock left after all this publicity

These shoes arrived today - they fit really well so am keeping.

OneLittleLady · 07/10/2014 16:54

I've not tried hypnosis but I have regular acupuncture, very high strength painkillers in both slow and quick release forms, I also have regular physio. I just grit my teeth and get through it. This condition (not the torn muscles, that's extra pain) is rated as the single most painful chronic condition you can have according to the Mcgill Pain Index. it rates as a 48/49 out of 50 Sad

MarshaBrady · 07/10/2014 18:14

One sad, sounds so tough

Linus Country Road that takes me back! We all used to wear it.

Fedup great black slippers.

Liberty love that silk blouse.

Dry pretty top.

Queenc wow, that is fab, what a great colour.

Sleep that will look amazing on you.

Think that's all the links!

MarshaBrady · 07/10/2014 18:14

um Sad no sad link there, clearly in link mode

OneLittleLady · 07/10/2014 18:39

Pleased to report the Hobbs coat fits like a dream. Looks really nice on as well and I realised while trying it on that I actually have the skirt that matches it already!

thanks marsha it is tough but have to just keep on going, the easy option would be to just give up and let it win but I'm not going to. I don't intend to take it laying down and will fight it with every ounce of my being Smile

shopafrolic · 07/10/2014 19:26

I missed it Marsha. I've got my eye on a Phillip Lim one but need to wait until I've had my colours done. Not long now....

Drywhiteplease · 07/10/2014 19:41

Sorry to hear you're feeling bad One

Well, the sewing machine is out. I'm interlining curtains I like them chunky and am covered in fluff Grin. So, my house is now fluffy and dusty Sad but they are looking good.

Back to it......

Shop when are you getting your new colours done?

Back later...fluffy stuff is waiting Grin

BrandyAlexander · 07/10/2014 19:41

Hello! Just on way back from Heathrow. Sorry to hear you're in pain One.

I survived! I survived! I survived! I survived! I was soooo stressed out today plus I am actually not v well. Scratchy throat, headache etc. I am supposed to be going to flying again (long haul) next Tuesday. I desperately don't want to go as I am so shattered.Sad

LinusDKD · 07/10/2014 19:51

Well done novice!

But can't you get out of traveling next week! I think your body is trying to tell you something ...

OP posts:
libertychick · 07/10/2014 20:10

Well done Novice. Is there any way you can get out of the flight next week? In the meantime hot drinks, paracetamol and an early night if possible. Flowers
