What is this winter's style of scarf going to be?

My first S&B thread!

Every winter, I roll out the same scarf which i love, but it's starting to look a bit tatty. Plus it doesn't suit the amazing coat I found in the January sales.

My coat is dark-bottle green military style, four buttons, slightly bell-shaped skirt to just above knee-length (will post pic if I can get on the laptop), it also has a high button up the neck.

I suppose technically it doesn't need a scarf, but I'm a cold-necked wuss

So, will this season's scarves suit? Or what would suit that style coat? I'd also like to start making one for myself before winter hits.

I have zero style and am clueless, also no time to trawl pinterest. So I immediately thought of MN

Any ideas gratefully received.

No idea what's in or not, but I've been hankering after:
a huge tartan one
a proper old fashioned thick knitted red one
a bright pink one

Also have no idea what is in or not as I always buy things I love. Got this last year in the sale and will be wearing this winter

Ah, good old Zara. Thanks Dexter. The first one is gorgeous but it is 100% acrylic which is such a shame.

Zara has some tartan scarves, jigsaw has one too.

The Jigsaw scarf is wool.

Got a great tartan snoody scarf in New Look the other day for under a tenner. Red, white, navy. Kind of collegiate-looking.
Probably acrylic all the way, but it looks great with most everything.

Pull and Bear also worth keeping an eye on as the winter stock comes in.

I would buy a tartan scarf (Black Stuart pattern) in wool from eBay. Lots of sellers. Work out your tartan and do a search on that. Lots of sellers in Scotland on eBay selling wool and cashmere tartan scarves.

Thomson Grey is the tartan I plan to buy this year.

I found a blue/green tartan scarf (in the pocket of one of DH coats) it did have navy gloves long ago.
I'll give it a wash and wear with gusto .

Ordered a bright canary yellow one from Hush, it's glorious with greys.
