How many pairs of shoes do you own?

frogmore6 · 27/08/2014 17:33

I have just too many pairs of shoes (like 100 pairs) which I seem to hold on to forever- will give away clothes but not shoes. Sad I know-but I just cannot help it.

OP posts:
PumpkinBones · 27/08/2014 17:37

About 70, stored in different places to hide how many there are :-p

DS's have 4 pairs each, including school shoes and wellies. DH has 2.

I have shoes I don't wear because they are so lovely I can't
Part with them. My sister is about to start a footwear design degree so I am hoping to benefit from this!

maybemyrtle · 27/08/2014 17:54

Oooh good q. DP thinks I have loads (he has 4) but I don't think I do at all.

3 pairs flats.

3 heels
3 trainers
5 flip flops
6 boots
2 wellies

Huh. That's more than I thought to be honest. I purge fairly regularly and ruthlessly and I can't even imagine having 100 pairs - for my life that would be ridic. Thinking now how to trim my current list down so I can justify some new boots... Grin

chocnwine · 27/08/2014 18:08

6 pairs:
1 x addias trainers
1 x ballerina flats
1 x converse lookalikes
1 x winter boots
1 x birkenstocks.
100 pairs? Madness Confused

BucktoothedGirlinLuxembourg · 27/08/2014 18:09

I don't know. Maybe 30 pairs?

micah · 27/08/2014 18:10

Trainers
Flip flops

I buy new when they wear out.

I have a "work pair" I haven't worn for three years since I was made redundant, and one pair of dm boots about 10 years old I can't bring myself to bin.

samesizetoes · 27/08/2014 18:35

X2 docs (one funky pair one black for work)
X2 trainers (one converse one running trainers)
X2 walking boots (one lightweight one all weather pair)
X1 sandals

and x1 pair of Chelsea boots on my shopping list

CointreauVersial · 27/08/2014 18:46

Loads. Maybe 50 pairs?

About half would be sandals and flip flops, then I have work shoes, party shoes, about eight pairs of boots, a few pairs of trainers, running shoes, wellies, walking boots.....

maybe more like 60....Blush

No fancy brands; some are up to ten years old. Stored in three large box crates in my wardrobe.

teacherwith2kids · 27/08/2014 18:52
  1. 6 if you include my son's walking boots, that I have appropriated.

When a pair breaks, I buy an identical pair - trainers for work, ankle boots and high boots for work, sandals and ankle boots for home.

WildCherryBlossom · 27/08/2014 20:27

1 x flipflops
1 x walking boots
3 x ballerina flats (1 ready for bin)
1 x winter boots
1 x shoe boots
1 x ankle boots
2 x stretchy fabric boots
1 x gym trainers
1 x converse
9 x assorted dressy high heels

Need a pair of good wellies, but otherwise currently happy with shoe collection.

PaperPomPom · 27/08/2014 20:30

Probably between 50 and 60. Mostly variants of work shoe for the office, a few pairs of flats for walking in and out, 3 pairs of sports trainers.

Onesleeptillwembley · 27/08/2014 20:33

About 20. More if you count trainers, walking boots and hockey boots.
Also bout 10 pairs of boots, different heights/styles.

Onesleeptillwembley · 27/08/2014 20:34

I've recently had a ruthless clear out, and got rid of loads. Blush

LightastheBreeze · 27/08/2014 21:09

About 50, that includes walking boots, crocs, flip flops, party shoes, wellies, trainers, about 10 pairs of boots, various sandals, about 10 pairs worn very regularly and a few never worn Blush

Greengardenpixie · 27/08/2014 21:15

I have absolutely no idea....Maybe about 30 pairs or a bit more. I am like the OP though and its cause i dont ever throw them out! Many i have had for years and years. No idea why!!!

ElleDubloo · 27/08/2014 21:15

6 pairs of flats that I rotate and wear on a daily basis to work
4 pairs of heels, only 1 of which I wear with any sort of regularity
1 pair of ankle boots
1 pair of knee-length boots
3 pairs of trainers / running shoes
2 pairs of flats that are too small and never worn (need to donate)
1 pair of very old shoes kept for sentimental value (gift from my Grandma)

Total: 18 pairs

HappyGirlNow · 27/08/2014 21:27

Hundreds.... Blush

HappyGirlNow · 27/08/2014 21:27

Well, over 100 anyway..

blibblibs · 27/08/2014 21:51

I just had a clear out today - 6 pairs binned Smile

That means I only have 49 pairs left - would have more if money allowed

gildedlily · 27/08/2014 22:09
  1. I could do with a pair of winter leather or suede trainers, a low ankle boot and another pair of brogues to complete my collection. Oh and some cosy and waterproof snow boots if it's a bad winter.
spottymoo · 27/08/2014 22:37

Had a big clear out and I'm left with
1 knee high boots
2 ugg boots
2 converse
1 gym trainners
1 ballet flat
3 sandels
1 smart black
1 wellies

Theoldhag · 27/08/2014 23:05

Having just packed most of my footwear as we are moving I had a bit of a sort through......

1 x motorbike boots
5 x leather and suede boots in varying shades of brown. (Fly, jones, etc)
1 x snow boots
1 x gortex walking boots
1 x walking sandals
1 x sandals
1 x flip flop (teva)
1 x ballet pumps
2 x clog type slip ons
2 x mid heal court shoes
1 x slippers

Recently taken to charity shop 7 pairs and binned 2 pair of boots.

SoldeInvierno · 28/08/2014 06:03

I reckon about 100, not counting boots. I wear regularly 75% of them.

3 navy black and red. Have about 30 dresses though

BakeOffQueen · 28/08/2014 09:04

Over 100 pairs. I can't remember exactly, but I got rid of about 30 pairs a few weeks ago.
