Just following on from other threads - I am really interested to know how many of you wear makeup everyday, if you do what time do you have to get up in the morning to do it??

I don't wear make up unless going out or have important meeting ( same as you Jazzi) and even then it tends to be coloured lip gloss, maybe eyeshadow or mascara and probably a bit of concealer. I don't bother for work, except for occasional concealer if I have a particulary splotchy day!

oxocube · 12/09/2006 12:25

Me! spend about 30 seconds putting on moisturiser 1st thing, then while kids are eating breakfast, I spend maximum of 2 mins, prob less, putting on concealer under the eyes, mascara and bit of Vaseline as lipgloss or sometimes lipstick. It wouldn't freak me out if people saw me wthout make-up but I do wear it every day

Jazzi · 12/09/2006 12:25

What job do you do Jessajam? If I wore makeup to work they would think I had gone mad!!

I'm a manager in the NHS, I sit in an office full of women, who all wear make up...I am the scruffy baggins in the corner

Fimbo · 12/09/2006 12:29

Yes to the question. I also have to wash my hair every day too

I am a lecturer in a university with alot of women that think women shouldn't wear makeup as it goes against 'our' feminist principles!

Most of the time since I started FLYing...

Foundation/tinted moisturiser (depending on mood)
Eyeshadow
Eyeliner
Mascara
Bronzer and lipstick if I can be bothered.

5-10 mins max.

I do go out without it, but am finding lately that I feel better in myself if it is on.

Discovered at the weekend that a friend's DP doesn't even own eye liner, or know how to apply it

Although after my at that (and DP asking me if she was abnormal because it seemed odd to him), we established that I don't have any eye makeup remover (I need some, ran out months ago and never got round to gettting any more), and he was asking if it was something that "normal" girls would have because he was going round to another friend's house and would use some of hers . (he was cleaning off fancy dress makeup... not normally an eye liner/mascara wearer )

Beetroot · 12/09/2006 12:31

If ever I go out without make up peopel say I look tired. (agree tired means crap) and I often see little children hiding scared of the monster coming towards them!

Flamesparrow · 12/09/2006 12:32

@ feminist principles... Blokes can wear it too if they want! I wear it for ME not men.

Not me.

multitasker · 12/09/2006 12:34

I have pale but long eyelashes and could definately not live without mascara, and lipgloss. Part of my morning routine as much as brushing teeth.
I go to a gym class once a week and I swear there are women who have freshly applied make-up on - I wonder is it to impress the (male) instructors or make the non made up feel crap?

Enid · 12/09/2006 12:36

me

I do it in about 5 mins when we are about to leave for school/nursrey

tinted moisturiser
concealer (if necessary)
mascara
blusher
lipgloss

LucyJones · 12/09/2006 12:36

I do the 5 minute make up thing if I'm going out in the day. If it's a stay at home day with ds I don't bother - my mother would never not bother even if she didn't see a soul all day. I'm not one of those who wouldn't open my door without makeup.

Jazzi · 12/09/2006 12:38

I think that is the thing LucyJones as my mother only wears makeup when she is going out - the same as me. She looks a state most of the time as well!!!

Very rarely wear make-up, even at work. Nights out (which are few and far between atm) and big meetings only. I can't be arsed, I suppose I'm the sort of person that people say "oooh, she's really let herself go since having the baby, hasn't she" about

CurrantBun · 12/09/2006 12:45

I always wear a bit of make-up - my skin is pretty cr*p and I need it to even out the tone and hide any blemishes. Takes me 5-10 minutes in the morning. Sometimes I leave off eye make-up at the weekend if I'm not doing anything, but would not go to work without it. I use:

Tinted moisturiser/foundation (depending on time of year)
Concealer
Eyeliner
Mascara
Blusher (just a hint)
Nude lipstick or gloss

Because my skin is oily and prone to blemishes I take all my make-up off and wash when I get home from work, then leave my skin bare for the rest of the evening (unless I'm going out).

Bugsy2 · 12/09/2006 13:12

Me, takes two minutes to apply. Mascara, liquid blusher & "stay on" lippy. Don't reapply at all during the day.
Wash & blow dry my hair everyday. Can do the whole get ready thing including shower, wash & blow dry, dressing & make-up in less than 25 mins.

notasheep · 12/09/2006 13:15

Wear it for births, weddings and deaths.

What are we all hiding from?

deegward · 12/09/2006 13:16

Not read all posts, but would cringe at the thought of not wearing make up. have worn it every day, including; applying lipstick before being wheeled out of delivery room with ds1, making sure had make up on when I had hysterectomy this year for my visitors. Generally wear at least mascara, powder/foundation, eye liner, and lipstick EVERY day. Done before going down stairs in the morning.

gegs73 · 12/09/2006 13:29

I wear it everyday. Not loads its really light, but I think I've got bad skin so it gives me more confidence. Takes no more than 5 minutes to put on and makes me look sooooooo much better!

notasheep · 12/09/2006 13:32

Arent men far more attractive than women?

beckybrastraps · 12/09/2006 13:34

After I had dd, if I went out with no make-up, everyone said how tired I looked and was she a bad sleeper. If I put on a bit of mascara and lipgloss, everyone said how well I looked and was she a good sleeper. So yes, I do!

expatinscotland · 12/09/2006 13:34

I do. I wear neutral eye shadow and mascara.

Eyeliner ONLY on the lids, not under - I'm too old for that look.

I do a primer, concealer and foundation. Then creme blush. Then powder, then powder blush b/c makeup - like fragrances - tends to fade quickly on me.

I use MAC lipliner in Spice and Laura Mercier lippy in 'Just Lips'.

And then am ready to go.

I look like utter shite w/o makeup. NOT a good look.

Takes about 5 minutes.
