Nightie with short sleeves and integral bra-support - help me find my Holy Grail of Nightwear

PacificDogwood · 10/05/2014 21:30

Please help because I am about to give up Sad

Here are my criteria:
Cotton (not negotiable)
Mini-shirt/knee-length
Short sleeves (at a push cap sleeves, but not straps/vest style)
Integral bra or cropped top type shelf thingie Grin
Ideally NOT Empire-line - just makes me look pregnant.

I'm a 34G and have looked at Brastop and Bravissimo, but it's all a bit dire.

Help!!

Im watching cause I would like to see what comes up too.

PacificDogwood · 10/05/2014 21:39

I found this one but it's a bit… odd??

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 10/05/2014 21:53

I bet the 'odd' one would be very flattering indeed - I know that sort og cut from 40's dresses.

shall rummage

BindibachMilly · 10/05/2014 21:54

I see what you mean about "odd". The boobs look sort of oddly shaped. I would like secret support but maybe not such a bra effect and would like a bit of cleavage on show too.

MrsLettuce · 10/05/2014 22:03

it looks better / clearer here

PacificDogwood · 10/05/2014 22:13

Ooh, look-see, old thread

OP posts:
PacificDogwood · 10/05/2014 22:15

Thanks, MrsLettus, you're right - much better picture, and I like the colour but is made of viscose. Hm. Which I do often find acceptable… £50. Not cheap.

The search continues….

OP posts:
PacificDogwood · 10/05/2014 22:16

Now I'm totally confused: the Hotmilk one I linked to in navy states 'cotton' and the red one is viscose? Confused

OP posts:
PacificDogwood · 10/05/2014 22:20

Ok, the Hotmilk website says viscose for both.
This should not be this difficult

Could you wear a crop top under a normal one? I wear cotton nighties and crop tops from Sainsburys, they have cap sleeves and are knee length.

PacificDogwood · 10/05/2014 22:26

Yes, I could and I so, but I don't want to

OP posts:
PacificDogwood · 10/05/2014 22:27

I do, sorry, no idea where the 'so' came from.

OP posts:
KosherBacon · 10/05/2014 22:29

Debenhams do some stuff with built in shelves for boobs but its viscose :(

PacificDogwood · 10/05/2014 22:36

Oh no, I've thought of another criteria: not pink/lilac/purpe

Grin

I am not helping my own cause, I am?

MrsLettuce · 10/05/2014 22:47

TBBH I've had the most success with cheap, knot fronted / cross fronted, jersey day dresses - no shelf as such but when cut and sized right the pleating gives a nice wee bit of support and a better shape than a shelf, for me. large but spaniel eared norkage here

PacificDogwood · 10/05/2014 23:00

Yes, I've thought of that too.

Apparently only pregnant/BFing women are looking for the kind of coverage I'm looking for Hmm

OP posts:
BindibachMilly · 10/05/2014 23:19

I like them because although im a 34E and still holding up well I prefer them to be rounded up and contained when im moving around in my lovely bed.

PacificDogwood · 11/05/2014 15:13

Right, I am back on it - anybody care to join me? Grin

OP posts:
BindiBach · 11/05/2014 15:47

Im here Smile
Im presently wearing a Next cotton long white nightshirt to bed and its lovely cause it is big and room but sort of cute too. Im not wearing anything under it at the moment as I get hot in bed. I am with you today on the research thing.

BindiBach · 11/05/2014 15:49

This is my Next night shirt

PacificDogwood · 11/05/2014 16:05

I like the style, but would need to wear a crop top underneath.
And I probably favour a stretchy jersey rather than woven nightie tbh.
Good grief: another criterion!

OP posts:
PacificDogwood · 11/05/2014 16:11

US site, no sleeves Sad
Nice otherwise, mind...

OP posts:
BindiBach · 11/05/2014 16:14

There are lots out there with straps but that isn't what you want I don't think.

PacificDogwood · 11/05/2014 16:14

The Americans have all the choice… but again no shoulder coverage

OP posts:
callow · 11/05/2014 16:25

There are some from QVC, 99% cotton
