Is your electric toothbrush fab....if so, which one do you use....?

I've been hearing some fab things about electric toothbrushes n have decided to buy one.

There are so many to choose from, I was hoping you could help me decide which one to get.

Which one do you think does a super job n what toothpaste do you use with it?

Philips diamondcare toothbrush. It's great. With arm and hammer toothpaste

My dentist recommends the Philips Sonicare ones. They must clean well as I had one of the ordinary Braun ones before but since I got mine people keep asking if I've had my teeth whitened (I haven't)

She also recommends Colgate toothpastes so I use their sensitive one

Philips sonicare but don't get the cheapest ones they're not as good. Boots often have half price offers on them so you'd be looking to spend £40+ on one of the ones on offer. Diamondcare is good one

I'm a dentist. I prefer Braun oral b

Phillips sonicare. The damn thing cost almost a hundred quid and the heads are £20 every couple of month a but It is so worth it. If I go away for the week and take a normal toothbrush my mouth feels gross

You can also get mini-heads as well as the standard size ones. I find the mini ones much better as I've only got a small jaw. Just shop around on-line for the deals.

So are there different models of Sonicare? (This is the one I've heard most good reviews about)
Is it best to buy the most expensive or can the cheaper ones still be as good?

One of the more expensive ones.

I found that they clean much better than oral B - I have difficult to clean teeth.

Pew laid £90 for it iirc. It was about 3 years ago mind you.

I love that the diamond clean has a travel case USB charger and to charge at home you just put in a glass. But I like gadgets :)

I love my Phillips Sonicare Diamond its very bling but it does the job. I tend to get free electric toothbrushes, its part of the job (dentist) but after using them for a few weeks I get fed up of recharging them so go back to manual cleaning. The diamond is just so well designed. The case is great for travel and charging so I am still using it after 3 years.
They now do it in black if you don't fancy the white. I get brush heads from Argus they are cheaper than any of our suppliers do them and you can use the cheaper heads from other models.
Regarding the trial cited above the sonic brush by colgate is crap. I tried it and I hated it. It is an inferior product to the phillips version. The study was funded by Oral B when the colgate brush was launched. Pricewise iit was a potential competitor. Phillips have always been a lot more expensive so not in direct competition so were not included in the comparison.
Like most things in life you gets what you pay for.

What is the cheapest you can get a diamond one for??

With sonicare the more expensive models are better. Since I converted I've managed to reduce my visits to hygienist (I have nightmare teeth) and when my toothbrush died and I used a cheap model for 6 weeks I could really tell the difference. When I've gone back to Oral b they've just not compared.

We have a vast range of toothbrush in our house as there are 6 of us!!! I've found ebay good for cheap heads too.

As I said I find the standard brushes too large especially after being used to the Oral b brushes so use the mini-heads which then clean much better.

Friend who had to go and see a specialist as she developed some horrid gum disease when pregnant was told to ditch her oral b in favour of sonicare with mini brush heads.

Willdoit... the Sonicare Diamond is 272 pounds approximately on the Boots Ireland website!!!
I saw instore (Boots) a Philips Sonicare for approximately 45 pounds.
Will it be rubbish in comparison?

Certainly worth looking around. Ensure you print off some sort of invoice etc. and then register the warranty - I think they are guaranteed for 2 years. The batteries do die eventually I'm afraid but still much cheaper than paying out for expensive dental treatment!

The one without full packaging £80 - I think this is a different handle with diamond clean brush heads so would avoid.

The flexcare - not as fantastic as the diamond but if you're on a budget it will still be amazing compared to manual brushing!
