No no no!
Why would you do it to yourself???

SIL saw a couple wearing matching crocs the other day.
Doh!

nutcracker · 13/08/2006 17:19

Saw some in a shop window on Friday and shouted 'ooooh look crocs' to Dp who said 'is that mn speak for something'

SpaceCadet · 13/08/2006 17:22

was looking at some with dm the other day, she picked them up and said..urrgghh, dont they make your feet sweat..i was encouraged to return said shoes to the display and leave the shop.

stephanieplum · 13/08/2006 17:54

I just like the colours but think they would make your feet pretty sweaty although they do have a nice lacy effect pattern! Also they dont look very bedy sort of hard like wooden clogs.

stephanieplum · 13/08/2006 17:55

Sorry meant bendy! Cant imagine a matching pair yuk!

fin54 · 13/08/2006 18:07

My friend bought a pr of these in blue for £8, I borrowed them for a laugh and wore them into work just for a laugh (work night shift) I spent the night wearing them and laughing with everyone else at them but I must say they were the most comfortable shoe?s I have worn in a long time but I still wouldn?t buy them or wear , I was also told I looked like I had plaster casts on my feet ? mind you I do work in a hospital environment?

stephanieplum · 13/08/2006 18:09

Perhaps for the beach when it is full of pebbles then and the sea when there are those north sea fish which sting!!

Neena28 · 13/08/2006 18:11

I agree eurghhhhh One of ds's friends (aged 5) turned up to a party today wearing a fushia pair. She is a really pretty well dressed little girl but these were ugggly!

MrsSpoon · 13/08/2006 19:35

Why can't they be leather? Or at least something like Birkenstocks, Birkoflor (or whatever it's called). The plastic is awful. Are they only £8?

tillykins · 13/08/2006 19:36

yak yak yak

Alibaldi · 13/08/2006 19:37

Expat where are You????? They're not plastic and no they don't make you're feet sweet and they're very flexible. Come on let's convert you.

mazzystar · 13/08/2006 19:39

Saw a mother and daughter (teenage) both wearing them the other day. What I have noticed is they seems to give wearers a strange kind of shuffling gait - I think they must be a bit funny to walk in.

Alibaldi · 13/08/2006 19:40

Sounds like theirs were too big. I don't walk like a penguin in mine, and my ds's run around like mad things in theirs.

expatinscotland · 13/08/2006 19:40

They're not plastic.

I wore mine to a winery yesterday and go loads of compliments.

They don't make your feet sweaty.

tillykins · 13/08/2006 19:42

you got compliments in a winery expat? LOL! Before or after the tasting...?

MrsSpoon · 13/08/2006 19:44

Not plastic! Well they look like plastic! Remind me of those jelly shoes folk wore in the 80s (I didn't 'cause my Mum wouldn't let me out in plastic shoes ).

MerlinsBeard · 13/08/2006 19:44

they are about £45 ish (or were where i saw them) they look like sawn off wellies but would be good for a beach or if u work in a car wash or something. or for growing plants in maybe!

MrsSpoon · 13/08/2006 19:45

Was it you in Sainsbos Expat?

OP posts:
Alibaldi · 13/08/2006 19:46

Expat hoorah here you are. Crocs are made of a composite - specially created by company here in Boulder and believe me your feet sweat more in leather here in 39c than in crocs. They are practical particularly for kids - who all wear them here. I had jelly shoes now they were disgusting. Crocs I LOVE EM.

expatinscotland · 13/08/2006 19:46

No. I'm too poncy to go to supermarkets.

I was in a quirky Scottish winery in Perthshire yesterday, doing my part for local, small businesses by buying lots of yummy bottles to drink and give as gifts.

Got a great book of poetry for my sister, too.

And lots of compliments on my pink Croc's.

Alibaldi · 13/08/2006 19:47

Hijack where in Perthshire were you??

PandaG · 13/08/2006 19:53

I am now the proud owner of some pale blue crocs, I agree they are a little unusal to look at, but oh so comfortable!

Alibaldi · 13/08/2006 19:57

yeah. Welcome to Crocworld. You'll love wearing them. Second thing I bought over here. Everyone wears them. Loads of colours to pick from here. Ds2 wanted barbie pink, but he looked far too girly
