I'm currently doing slimming world to lose the baby post natal cake weight. I've got about 4stone to lose & want to have a little treat for every 7lb I loose. I've got a ridiculous amount of boots points - what should I get? I've got a massive boots superstore near me with all the fancy brands in it.
I've got dark hair & eyes, pale skin with a sallow tone & a 6 month old so not a huge amount of time. Skins a bit rubbish unless I use specific things so don't want to meddle with that to much. Make up, hair, nail, body suggestions all welcome.
I've lost 9lb already so I'm due a treat! Help.

Well done x
Perfume

NigellasDealer · 08/03/2014 11:14

same suggestion here, some nice perfume or selection of eau de toilette

PotatoPolly · 08/03/2014 11:14

ive just discovered the Dior Lip balm with colour in it- im afraid I cant remember its formal name but its amazing! its clear but adapts to the right colour for your lips :)

2blessed · 08/03/2014 11:17

Definitely perfume!

isisisis · 08/03/2014 11:18

I do love a Marc Jacobs perfume, thanks for the suggestion. Think I might have that as a bit if a bigger treat when I get to 2stone or something. I could do with some little lovely things, maybe about £10-15 for each 1/2stone?

Dior lip balm sounds good - that's going on the list. Thank you.

Nail varnish - I'm off to treat myself to one today as I always buy cheap ones and I'm fed up of them chipping.

SouthernComforts · 08/03/2014 11:20

Hair straighteners?

Perfume

Expensive make-up

Perfume or some expensive toiletries like Clarins or Elizabeth Arden or Benefit make up Grin

NotInGuatemalaNowDrRopata · 08/03/2014 11:22

Good for you! Well done.

I've been looking at Stila products - quite a nice face shimmer in a really cool bottle to liven the face up a bit.

Real Techniques brushes are meant to be very good for applying make up (there are online short tutorials for how best to use them).

With summer coming, you could sort your feet out with one of those hard skin removing machines (one brand is Scholl, I got the other as you can get manicure attachments).

There's a half price sunglasses voucher around at the moment, you could use that and some points.

isisisis · 08/03/2014 11:23

What's 'in' in nail varnish? I can't wear it for work so maybe should make the most of mat leave to indulge. Any brand recommendations for not chipping?

Well done! I was going to say a clarins cleanser/toner, serum and moisturiser but I see your skin is sensitive. I would go to the beauty counters (I love benefit but that does sometimes set my skin off) and ask for the 'glow' or 'skin pick me up' products. I really like Soap and Glory too.

Ooh. Enjoy. Why don't you go to a big Boots, have a lovely browse and then a nice lunch somewhere? For me it's the purchasing/lunching that's actually more enjoyable than the owning!

isisisis · 08/03/2014 11:27

Stila face shimmer sounds nice, off to google. Don't think I've ever escaped the benefit counter without looking neon but will take another look at them! Great suggestions so far, thank you.

I like soap & glory, I'd forgotten about them. I got that big box that boots do at Xmas & have just finished the lovely foot cream. Did anyone else think the body wash smelt like shoe polish? I ended up giving it to my neighbours daughter.

Definitely a lovely lippie, YSL or Chanel, Dior or Estee Lauder, something that you feel fab wearing. The right lipstick works wonders for morale! So would be a great thing to have on days when you feel amazing, but also give you a boost when needed. Set aside time to go, get a counter to give you a plain base, then try loads of different things. Don't worry about taking up loads of the assistants' time, that's what they're paid for.

Then foundation, then blush!

Mrswellyboot · 08/03/2014 11:47

I used my boots points lately to buy Olay regenereist night serum. Omg it is gorgeous,

polyhymnia · 08/03/2014 11:55

Clarins skin products definitely.

singaporeswing · 08/03/2014 11:56

I'd get perfume, Hydralauron or Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and the rest on make up bits and bobs.

God I miss Boots!

PedantMarina · 08/03/2014 12:00

Formula, disposable nappies and all the Nestlé products there are.

Juuuusssst kidding.

I don't do expensive stuff, so can't help there, but did want to say congratulations on the 9 lb lost I think I might have found it!

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/03/2014 12:02

Babyliss big hair?

OhTheDrama · 08/03/2014 12:11

The 3 for 2 offer is on makeup and skincare at the moment so you could treat yourself to few little things. Whenever I want a treat or cheering up, I always get a nail polish but that is my obsession at the moment. I love essie polishes.

HelloBoys · 08/03/2014 12:31

I'd certainly go for the stores which have big beauty brands there, if you like e.g. Clinique etc then they often have GWP which can be good value and also good to try out new products, travel sizes, mini gifts for friends etc - I used to give my friend the dramatically different moisturiser which she loved but I didn't like.

Oops double post.

If your store has YSL and you want long lasting lip gloss try their I think it's the gel ones... they're more a stain stay on ages and are raved about here and elsewhere.

DoItTooJulia · 08/03/2014 12:32

La Roche Posay. Awesome stuff.
