Done it...

Oh no, Mrs S. That is truly horrible. It really hits home when the people suffering ravages are our own generation.

To ensure I'm a moderately spry grandmother, grandchild plan is for DS to get his girlfriend pregnant at about 16. She won't be well placed to look after the baby, so I'll step in. At about 20, DS will realise he's gay and never leave me for the rest of his life. I will continue to put his clothes out on his bed every morning until he's 45, and he'll rub my feet while we watch Homes Under the Hammer.

hattymattie · 07/03/2014 10:23

HerbsGrin.

BTM - I've given the DD's strict instructions about no improper frequentation of boys for a very long timeWink.

motherinferior · 07/03/2014 10:41

Herbs, that sounds an excellent plan.

I have redyed my eyebrows with the usual ineptitude and usual lycanthropic results. It is quite hard for a small redhead with just threaded brows to look like a werewolf but I can assure you I manage it.

Blackduck · 07/03/2014 11:40

MI :)

Ds will have to get his skates on if I am to do any child minding..... at the minute he is off girls so that could be problematic!

motherinferior · 07/03/2014 11:47

What can I get a very nice woman I don't know all that well - she's in my choir, have known her for ages and like her a lot - for her 60th birthday? Around £20 budget maximum? This?

cremolafoam · 07/03/2014 12:37

Loving herbs planGrin

Dd has managed an A in her English AS re-sit ( got a D in last years paper)
Real confidence boost. She is beaming and so am I !!! Just goes to prove that she just had a bad day back in June and is so not the 'complete failure' she had herself cast as.Angry SO MUCH UNNECESSARY PRESSURE!
Happy weekend laydeez.

beachyhead · 07/03/2014 12:38

Those are nice, MI. I always buy Neal's Yard hand wash or Occitane stuff as well.

So sorry to hear about your friend Mrs S - you have had too much on your plate recently.

I am having the unhealthiest lunch ever - jacket potato, fried onions and ham, with cheese on top!

cremolafoam · 07/03/2014 12:38

Like that very much MISmile

herbaceous · 07/03/2014 12:43

Beat you, Beachy. I just had white bloomer sandwich, containing streaky bacon and a fried egg. YUMMO.

Blackduck · 07/03/2014 12:47

Here it was the left over kedgeree and some salad leaves....
The dog had for breakfast - left over kedgeree and a slice of pizza (we are out of dog food......)

Nice MI!

I am having to read 'Ratburger' with ds and have come to the conclusion that the only reason it got published is because it has David Walliams name on it..... - derivative and not that funny.

beachyhead · 07/03/2014 12:53

Ratburger is definitely not the best one. We have them all here and Mr Stink and Gangsta Granny rank higher. We bought Billionaire Boy yesterday at the vastly overpriced School Book Fair.

I am getting more and more exasperated at the ds's ability to lose everything. We are about 3 pairs of trainers down - including the ones borrowed from dh and dd. I am thinking about marching him down to Sports Direct with his own money to buy replacements.

bigTillyMint · 07/03/2014 13:08

Cremo that's great news, and much deserved, I'm sureFlowersCakeWine

beachy, do it! I am very Ms Trunchbullish lucky with DS and DD who rarely lose any clothing/equipment. Which is just as well given the number of trainers and footy boots we have in our house!

motherinferior · 07/03/2014 13:08

I am going to have lunch. Wonder what I can come up with...

motherinferior · 07/03/2014 13:11

...I have however come up with my quick'n'dirty 600-worder thanks to frugal recycling of earlier features

cremolafoam · 07/03/2014 13:11

I beat you all as I am in ikea and may or may not have chipsGrin

David Walliams not as funny as Mr Gum IMHO Smile

CointreauVersial · 07/03/2014 13:40

Crem - fab news about DD's re-take. I bet you are all over the moon for her.

I've just had a tomato and mozzarella salad al desko.

The girls' get-together, rescheduled from last week to this evening, has been cancelled again - this time, one of the teenage offspring has contracted mumps. I'm annoyed, as I quite fancied not cooking this evening (and I'm a little worried for the poor lad - there do seem to be quite a few complications possible. Not clear if he had MMR, but I suspect not....).

David Walliams? DD2 has just finished Billionaire Boy, and loved it. She adored Mr Gum too.

Is the sun shining on you all? I feel a weekend of gardening coming on.

bigTillyMint · 07/03/2014 13:43

CV, have you heard any more about the girl who disappeared in London? Hope all is well for her and her family now.

And my silvery skirt arrived from Topshop! It is indeed very silvery and stretchy. I now have to work out what to wear it with. Any tips, CV?!

Mine weren't into Mr Gum or David Walliams, which is fine by me as I frankly find him rather creepy!

Blackduck · 07/03/2014 13:54

Glad it's not me on the David W thing......

Yes sunny here, and a lovely week predicted ahead.....

Cremo - good on DD and fish and chips tonight ;) (sod low carb....)

herbaceous · 07/03/2014 14:05

I low-carbed yesterday, until half a bag of mini eggs in the evening. Damn, but those things are irresistable.

motherinferior · 07/03/2014 14:13

I had Indianised sardines on a bagel, if anyone's interested. But we're out of eggs so I can't do us egg and (oven) chips for supper and I've run out of inspiration. Although I could suddenly turn into Good Mummy and make a paneer and pea curry, actually, we've got the ingredients...

herbaceous · 07/03/2014 14:25

Now I've just had a slice of chocolate fudge cake. It was very small. Unlike my arse.

bigTillyMint · 07/03/2014 14:54

Herbs, lo-carb's going well thenWink

I think we will be having something out of the freezer for dinner, especially as DH is going out!

herbaceous · 07/03/2014 14:56

I was only lo-carbing yesterday as it was supposed to be a fast day, but I couldn't face doing the whole starvation thing. So went for an easy option.

Today I'm hell bent on undoing all my efforts. I had toast and marmalade for breakfast, too.

Annoyingly, I do feel much better - less bloated and tired - if I avoid bread, but it's so damned handy. And so tasty.

hattymattie · 07/03/2014 14:58

Brilliant news for DD Crem and what a relief.WineWine to both of you. By the way shouldn't it be meatballs in IKEA? I have had bread and cheese and a slice of DS's cake which is a yoghurt cake so limited fat - at least that's what I'm telling myself.

hattymattie · 07/03/2014 14:59

I have dried the washing outside on the line for the first time since September (virtuousSmile)
