Done it...

Grin @ BTM, no, I don't think Waitrose are branching out into livestock yet. The hen is a Columbian Blacktail, which is the breed that produces all of Waitrose's free range eggs.

motherinferior · 27/03/2014 14:48

Hatty, you are married to a Frenchman and live in Paris. I thought you all wafted around in wispy matching sets?

lalsy · 27/03/2014 14:50

Gutted. I was excited at the thought of an Ocado van with smiley driver delivering neatly feathered hens.

Blackduck · 27/03/2014 14:52

Hatty - I'm with you - they only match by accident, not design. My administrator, on the other hand, can be put in a totally foul mood by unmatched undies.....

Can't wait to meet everyone again/for the first time tomorrow... (must download QQs directions....)

bigTillyMint · 27/03/2014 15:18

OhBlushGrin

Yes, Hatty, what would your neighbours say?Wink

addle · 27/03/2014 15:25

v stylish friend of mine only ever wears v lovely black, white or nude matching bra and knickers. tried to emulate her for about 3 years and have recently realised that like wilbur i get lots of pleasure from colourful spotty, plain etc etc underwear so am reverting with sigh of relief. now off to do that bendovery thing and measure self. have not much nork but apparently lots of flesh to bulge out over side bit of bra which is what i want to avoid.

lalsy - was in tk maxx this morning - few things more dispiriting than trying on bras in their changing rooms. am sure you're right - online the way to go

waitrose hens - what larks! (or not, actually)

beachyhead · 27/03/2014 15:28

Stropps, our new ladies are so proficient that we are groaning under the number of eggs. Might bring some tomorrow Grin

Strangely wooo, but when my dmum was dying, a dove made a nest in the small tree outside her bedroom window. It then happily flew away once she had died. It had never been there or since, but we enjoyed the fact that it came. None of us are vaguely religious, but it still felt comforting.

I have put on so much weight in the last two weeks for no discernible reason.... am struggling with outfit for tomorrow. Plus, dd1 seems to have mislaid the 'disco' jacket. Will search her cave tonight.

motherinferior · 27/03/2014 15:35

That's the thing. I wear mostly black, with the odd 'nude' bra for under white/pale stuff. That's fine with pants as it is feasible to find nice and comfortable granny pants in black. But 'nude' pants...oh no. Something distinctly off-putting IMO.

Blackduck · 27/03/2014 15:43

I have some nude 'hold it all in' shorts from M&S - they make me think of surgical bandages and are seriously off putting.... but the packs were back and nude (why oh why)

motherinferior · 27/03/2014 15:45

I feel they make one look like shop mannequins. And not in a good way wonders if pervy ex is now into shop mannequins-

hattymattie · 27/03/2014 16:06

I'm my defense I have now bought two posh bras - 70 Euros each non sale I'llnhave you know. These are the most expensive items of underwear I have ever bought and I love them. The teensy tiny synthetic knickers they proposed that matched were a non starter. I'd have to get a serious waxing just to wear them.Blush

Point of interest - I go to the gym here and everybody is not attired in fab underwear some are some aren't just like in the UK.

hattymattie · 27/03/2014 16:07

er that should read defence and bras were on sale not non sale!

NUFC69 · 27/03/2014 16:17

Oooh, underwear talk. Coincidentally I was in a M&S outlet today looking at matching bras and pants: why are the pants all small and whispy, that's what I want to know? DH and I were wandering around and there were no matching pants that would help with flabby stomachs - I find the little ones all sit just beneath my flab and the look isn't good. Since I did the MN bra intervention my bosoms (love that old fashioned word) look much better. Considering my age I reckon my neck and cleavage look pretty good still (I have put cream on my neck for years).

We drove back along the Military Road (the best road in the country - the scenery is amazing) in heavy rain and sleet - the satnav pinged and told us that there was a danger of ice as it was 3 degrees C. It actually went down to 2 and a half: it had been 9 degrees C on the west coast. We had a lovely time - it's amazing how just an overnight stay can feel like a long time.

DH is now bewailing the fact that it is still wet and he can't get outside to creosote the fence - he says he is feeling guilty becaue he can't do anything. I, on the other hand, am enjoying sitting with the laptop, half watching "The New Avengers" with an amazingly youthful and beautiful Joanna Lumley.

I am Envy at first soprano, MI. And love the sound of the Waitrose chickens, MrsS.

Herbs, how are you all doing? Are the arrangements being sorted out properly to the satisfaction of DMil and DP? It's important that they have things done how they would like.

I, too, would love to see a photo of all the crepeys at the MU tomorrow; am very envious - are all the sequins polished and shining?

NUFC69 · 27/03/2014 16:23

I can remember 20 odd years ago playing badminton one morning; we finished and went back to the changing rooms - in my case to pick up my bag to go home. One player had left a little earlier; when we went into the changing rooms she was just getting dressed after a shower. I can remember being Shock as there she was in her beautifully matching bra and pants, suspender belt, with her foot up on a bench, pulling on some fine black stockings. She was the first person I had ever seen (apart from in magazines) wearing things that matched, but also wearing stockings - we had been liberated from stockings when I was in my teens.

motherinferior · 27/03/2014 16:31

Large yet skimpy pants...

lalsy · 27/03/2014 16:35

The bendovery bra thing says the random bits of flesh flopping around are actually nork tissue, so no wonder it is popular Smile.

wordassociationfootball · 27/03/2014 16:35

hello y'all.

Herbs, really sorry to see you've lost your FIL, very sad.

Have popped on as I know Stropps (and I now see Beachy) are chicken people and I have a question and look at you talking about them actually today. How a la mode and on-topic am I? Grin

I am lazy and busy (work at home, house a pit). I live in South London. My 9 and 12 year old daughters are plaguing me with powerpoint presentations, spreadsheet costings, drawings and names in their campaign for chickens. We have a very ordinary sized garden.

I am already cross with the girls for doing f all to look after this putative poultry (they can't even put their cereal bowls by the sink most mornings without being reminded and I can see into the future)

And they'd need more looking after than the cat when we went away, wouldn't they? Should we? I am really quite tempted in some ways... could you give me the lowdown.

motherinferior · 27/03/2014 16:41

I believe there are School Chickens...

bigTillyMint · 27/03/2014 16:51

There are indeed, MI! Friends DD used to feed them at early o'clock back at the start of Y7Grin

Good to see you WAF!

cremolafoam · 27/03/2014 16:57

Waves a waf!
MI those are rather lovely actually

hattymattie · 27/03/2014 16:58

MI - I could be tempted by the lacy shorts there - I think DH would be very confused if suddenly started sporting such risque items.

motherinferior · 27/03/2014 17:02

Well, yes, there is that. A level of Inappropriate Optimism and groping might be er raised.

cremolafoam · 27/03/2014 17:19

Waves at Sarf London crepeys as train crawls whizzes thru

wordassociationfootball · 27/03/2014 17:29

You see that's the actual thing.... doesn't seem particularly interested in School Chickens.

Hi Cremolafoam, was that you? Earlier? Waving? Saw ya!

wordassociationfootball · 27/03/2014 17:30

Now I have had to rewind and look at those pants. I'm not a fan of crack display but I like lacy side panels.
