I'm glad now I didn't buy the fur-lined boots I was looking for at the beginning of winter. Perhaps those we're going to have the worst weather yet are press statements from timberland etc

Stokey that looks great. Worth a try?

Annianni · 25/01/2014 12:34

I wouldn't count my blessings yet Marsha, we've had snow on Ds1's birthday before (which is next week) and in the following weeks after.
my baby is going to be 10 oh my god, i'm getting old!!!

Pins... You know where... Brand Alley shoes have arrived and there's a slight problem!

MarshaBrady · 25/01/2014 12:39

Oh yes we have a photo of ds on his 3rd birthday with snow all around. His birthday is in April!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 25/01/2014 13:37

One of my mares was due to foal in March last year, but held onto it for three weeks more because the weather turned to severe snow (horses do this). Plus I bought some Sperry Shearwaters this year and want the chance to wear them

Anni don't feel old. My youngest is 10, her sister is 19 Shock. I know, I don't look old enough Wink

Annianni · 25/01/2014 14:17

Poor horses Grumpy Shock I wouldn't fancy another 3 weeks!

So... You got married at 16? Wink

Umlauf · 25/01/2014 14:26

In the Easter holidays last year I was driving up from Andalusia and there was snow on the ground.

Drywhiteplease · 25/01/2014 14:44

Snow always sneaks up on us in Feb up here, normally when I've invested in summer clothes! Had my winter tyres put on 2 weeks ago...I'm ready.
We drove to the airport last year to go to Florida at Easter! there was snow on the side of the road.

Blimey Grumpy I must be a horse! DS was 2 weeks late!

Just took DS to a game shop....it's a whole new world. He asked the assistant something, it was like he was speaking a different language! And you can put your game play out there so some sad gamer can watch your play.....why?!!!Hmm there are people who play games for a LIVING!? Shock I feel old. Much prefer clothes shops!

No snow here yet but we are going up to the mountains tomorrow with the DC.

Today was our quarterly DS haircut stressfest and yes, the neighbours must have thought we were murdering him.

Is it too early for wine? Or a G&T?

grumpy pm!

shopafrolic · 25/01/2014 15:42

Waves to all. Decam was today the day for getting your colours done? By the amount of brown stuff you're pinning for EBay I'm guessing you're not an Autumn?

LinusDKD · 25/01/2014 15:46

shop is today DS's birthday or tomorrow?

Forgot to wave back at mig

DH agreed with me that a G&T is what the doctor ordered so he is making one as I type.

Wearing the Chinti and Parker dress today with black opaques and Jalouses and even though I still look a bit broad in the hips, I like the dress. Very nice and thick cotton so perfect to wear everyday.

shopafrolic · 25/01/2014 15:47

Tomorrow Linus. Present wrapped, helium balloons collected, food prepared. 12 adults and 5 kids tomorrow - 16 adults and 14 kids next Sunday Hmm

LinusDKD · 25/01/2014 15:57

Wow shop that's a lot!

I guess if we lived near friends and family that we would have bigger parties as well. It does sometimes make me feel sad that DGP's are missing out on a lot, like birthdays.

LinusDKD · 25/01/2014 16:08

Random beauty question too lazy to start a new topic

Can anyone recommend me a good exfoliant?

I have used Liquid Gold for the last few months and am happy with the results (softer, clearer skin) but I would like more of a BHA (salicylic acid) exfoliant to deal with the blackheads on my nose and chin.

I have looked at Paula Begoun but unfortunately she charges £££££ to deliver to where I live so that's out and I can't find any other toner/exfoliant with enough BHA (2%) online.

Thanks!

shopafrolic · 25/01/2014 16:10

Not something I know about Linus sorry. I was recommended an Elemis one at last facial but don't think it had acid in it.........

Annianni · 25/01/2014 16:18

Linus you need Barbie.
I use cheapy Sanctuary ones from Boots... scared of acid!

Shop you're a braver woman than me... Good luck with the parties.

Forgot about that... Decameron what season are you?

Drywhiteplease · 25/01/2014 16:48

Good luck tomorrow Shop....

Freezing clumps of hail here. Why am I at a bloody rugby match? Feel like my face is going to shatter into a million tiny pieces of coldness. I slathered myself in Clinique City Block which normally feels like a layer of central heating for my face but to no avail. Am wearing Sheepskin lined Gap dark Olive Green suede heeled boots (stupid choice - suede) from last Winter, dark grey Helmut Lang skinny cigarette pants, a silver coated Sweatshirt from Miss Selfridge and my thick checked wool coat. On top is my pale lime green Edina Ronay leopard scarf, a long woollen dark green and grey rugby style scarf and a Trappers hat in grey. I look as mad as a fish and two cars have just crashed at the exit so won't be getting out of here anytime soon.

Boo hoo.

BrandyAlexander · 25/01/2014 17:52

Hello everyone! A mad day of unpacking here. Absolutely loving the house. Feel so lucky. I have only stopped for the occasional cringeGrin

The movers have left us with a right old job to do. They run out of time as they didn't staff it properly and the last 3 hours there were 9 of them shoving stuff in cupboards. Sadly, the people we bought from had very low cleanliness standards, and the cleaners I hired a couple of days ago didn't match my standards. So, my cleaner was here reorganising and cleaning out the utility/laundry room. I have been doing the same with the kitchen on and off all day. Definitely no fashion news here! Am wearing Primark salmon pink jumper, Superdry track suit bottoms (grey with pink stripes) and slipper boots! This outfit is fashionable somewhere!

BrandyAlexander · 25/01/2014 17:53

Darn it, I meant to say hello Mig! I shudder at your post.....this will be me in a few years time!Sad

Mignonette · 25/01/2014 17:56

shopafrolic · 25/01/2014 18:05

shopafrolic · 25/01/2014 18:11

marsha hope you've had a lovely time with DH xx

OneLittleLady · 25/01/2014 18:14

Evening all. DP of to the cinema with a friend so an evening to myself. Might be a bit late on now for violin practice torture so it might be time to break out the face masque and watch some netflix!

What season are you decam?

Drywhiteplease · 25/01/2014 18:17

At least you match Novice! Grin
Mig when I watch rugby once a year if they get to a final I do not look fashionable or mildly coordinated. I generally wear everything I own....you're a brave woman today, any thoughts I had of going bare legged and sleeveless tonight have gone out of the window. Dress with sleeves, vest and opaques for me........
