Quick wave to all as inlaws have arrived, DH back and birthday party weekend commences. Swimming was better, at least in the changing rooms, although still a nightmare to get into his car seat. But definitely better so thanks all. The turtle was a big hit Dry - I think the other mums are probably cursing me though!
Madewell flats are perfect, great fit, really soft leather and cushiony insoles. :)

Meant to say pic on Pin.
Grumpy hope you get the bag eventually. We'll all keep our eyes peeled I'm sure.
I don't dare open any links as I must not spend anything else for quite some time.

shop and shopjr well done!

grumpy if you are really keen I can get that bag for you in town and send it to you.

The Chinti and Parker sale dress from NaP has arrived (had it sent to DMIL and due to unforseen circumstances she's only managed to mail it to me now) and I am a bit unsure about it.

Great colour, great fabric but the dress makes me look a bit 'hip-y' (and it's a Small so lucky I didn't go for a Medium)

I will try it on this weekend with opaques and Jalouses and see if that looks better than pasty white legs and no shoes.

Oh and my Equipment shirt has arrived and is lovely. Not a dark navy but a colour called peacoat which is a kind of dirty navy. Now I have three Equipment shirts and very little opportunity to wear them Blush

Linus can you not wear the shirts during the day with jeans?
Or did you want to keep them for evenings?

Shop has dh seen The Dress yet?

Report
LinusDKD · 24/01/2014 17:19

anni I would love to wear those shirts during the day but with a 3 year old and a 15 month old baby it would be asking for trouble.

Maybe on nursery days but then I would have to change when I get back home from dropping them off and that's such a hassle.

Unless I do the nursery run in my dressing gown Wink

Yay, weekend!

I'm beginning to think those M&S flowery shoes don't exist as I went to another (huge) M&S after work and no sign of them Hmm

Also had a funny conversation with a random woman in there. I was looking at a top that happened to be quite boxy and she was saying it would look best with skinny jeans or something. The conversation ended thus:
Her: We can't all get away with leggings though, I do think you have to be very young and trim.
Me: Yeah, they're really for teenagers. I can't get away with them either.
Her: No.
...

Just tried on my DKNY sale top from NAP here. It's more neony orange than the pic. Still a lovely colour though and fits nicely, so keeping it, will be nice for work when it gets a bit warmer.

Shop love the shoes, glad they're all you dreamed of :)

Blair MNV got me into orange last summer big time! Love the top.

I need help.........going to a Burns Night party tomorrow hosted by friends who own hotels and have everything, but really nice and absolutely don't expect gifts. What the heck do I take?
At previous parties their kitchen has looked like a florist, so flowers, always lovely IMO aren't a great idea. Because of his work and she doesn't really drink booze and food are out of the question. HELP!

Tough one Dry. The only thing I can think of is a nice candle maybe?

Annianni · 24/01/2014 17:56

I have sat down with a glass of wine ready to check out all the links I've missed since weds- iPad is playing up and the links are not loading. Am a bit miffed.

Dry How about a candle or reed diffuser for the hostess gift -nice ones obviouslyGrin. Am v impressed with your shopping trip yesterday.

Shop glad the swimming was better today.
Anni hope your move is going ok; you sound mega organised.
Blair Shock at the leggings comment

Am heading into London tomorrow and hope to have time to pop into Liberties and Selfridges. I suspect DH won't be at all keen though.

Hi everyone, quick hi and I also wanted to ask, if anyone is planning splurging in Whistles anytime soon, I have a gift card burning a hole in my wallet, really irritating me now cause I can never find anything in there that I really like. It's for £172 but I'll take a reasonable offer and post it to you, PM me I just know I'll love something in there a week after I post it Hmm. It's still valid for at least a year btw (started with 2 years).

It may have been the horror of picking up an admittedly beautiful Balenciaga bag and clocking the £4,950 price tag that sent me into a tailspin....Shock...

Yikes sleep that is £££

I googled the price for that cobalt Céline hobo bag I am lusting after and had to go for a little lie down afterwards. The price was in USD and I think they are 'cheaper' in Europe, but still.

dry how about those slate placemats you got a while back? Or those lovely personalised wooden serving boards mig linked a while back?

Scratch that, just saw the party is tomorrow so maybe too last minute.

Report
Drywhiteplease · 24/01/2014 18:38

Personalised wooden board is a fab idea for another time though when I'm more organised

On the more affordable bag front, I really like the Gap bag Le Catch wrote about today.

She prefers the nude but I really like both shades of blue:

gap

Now if only I lived in a country where they had Gap shops....

Which Balenciaga sleep? Maybe that is a tactic for the future to avoid spending money, head straight to the £££ bags... or maybe not Wink

Umlauf that's very cheap but oh no about the weather! At least they'll be done for when you can wear them. Hopefully the forecast is wrong! I have found 2 places that I could take mine to (never used a tailor, don't want to take them to bog standard dry cleaner) and it's either £8 in someone's house or £20 in a proper place.
