I agree that parents and mothers in particular have a massive influence on how we see and like ourselves.

In my case DM definitely had a negative impact on my body image, even when I was a naturally very slim teenager she kept reminding me and DSis not to get 'fat'.

I will really try my hardest not to make the same mistake with my DC but it is hard to avoid thinking or saying things that have been so ingrained in once's psyche.

Although I am watching what I eat I never make a fuss about it and when DS notices I eat something different (happens once or twice a week) from them and asks about it, I just say mama fancied something different.

Because have a lovely, lovely time. Did you get married yesterday? Yes, try for an upgrade- we were upgraded to Virgin Upper class coming back from New York last Oct as it was dh's 50th. You won't know if you don't ask!
