Skinny cigarette pants for work Marsha - would work with your VB blazer and flats?

Stokey · 29/01/2014 10:47

I like both of those Liberty very handy for the day to night transition.

Umlauf · 29/01/2014 10:55

I hear you re: work wardrobe marsha I used to hate spending money on work stuff. Second the skinny cigarette pants idea, everything you wear with skinnies you could wear with them.

anni that's a brilliant loss! I'm the total opposite to you I have no willpower for exercise and would rather starve for a week than exercise. I've been doing the 5:2 since the end of October and have lost 20lbs so baby weight gone but I have the dreaded thigh-rub Sad which I never had until pregnancy and which made last summer a total misery. I am going to have to do exercise to get rid of it. Urgh.

No stokey that sounds a bit art teacher doesn't it?! not that there's anything wrong with art teachers A lot of the romantic stuff I used to wear maybe a couple of years ago but I've gone a lot more classic now. I think it's easier to be romantic in the summer!

libertychick · 29/01/2014 11:06

I had chucked out all my black skirts Stokey as they were all tatty and it has taken a few months to find those two. The Smithfield wool one is particularly nice, very swishy, lined and nice quality material. Wearing it today with a fine knit midnight blue Gap jumper, black opaques, black suede wedges, silver jewelery and my lovely new and very bargainous navy and blue Toast scarf.

Mignonette · 29/01/2014 11:20

Morning all -

My leopard skirt and blue tank from Outnet arrived and they are a success! Love them.

Leopard skirt

Sky blue tank

Mulberry prices are daft. The quality is terrible, they have no longevity and the heritage of the brand is being lost whilst they chase the super wealthy disposable fashion market with increasingly desperate editions in stupid fabrics and skins. They'll have a bloody Unicorn skin bag soon lined with the fabric spun from Spiders webs and ethically farmed Fairy Wings.

Somebody who can buy five bags a week, wear them out once, doesn't care about long term quality. Hence that super rich market they are chasing. However they move quickly onto another thing leaving Mulberry alienated from its previous core market. What must Roger Saul think I wonder?

Liberty I like those skirts. They are classic and can be adapted however you like. That heart print shirt would go with the cream/beige skirt wouldn't it? Your working style sounds not dissimilar to mine. Mind you now I am freelance i am fighting the impulse to not bother so much with 'work' dressing - a bad habit to get into. I dress up to go out, to meet people for work/attend press nights etc but I no longer have a dress code.

LinusDKD · 29/01/2014 11:22

Morning!

grumpy pm!

Wecome Mara

anni well done on the weight loss!

Am in town and being very good and haven't bought anything! apart from the Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil and Aesop hand soap

Waiting to have my eyebrows threaded for the first time in 5 years! Used to have it done in London but was never able to find a threading place here until now.

justasecond · 29/01/2014 11:29

Welcome to Marade your style sounds great and that StellaM jacket was a bargain! Another A&W fan here. I only discovered them just before they closed down, they should bring it back.
Liberty I like your new skirts, good shapes. I have the same concerns about my whistles Lena jacket. I feel it is a little short in the body for me and possibly a bit boxy. I have it in camel which fills a wardrobe hole though so will keep wearing it this year. I also have that lovely A&W print but in a shirt dress
Anni that is impressive weight loss. I need to go cold turkey on the sugar again as I keep getting cystitis like symptoms when I have too much sugary crap. I have just resisted eating DS's half eaten choc chip biscuit which is a major feat of will power for me.
Still no biker boots, hope they turn up today.
Still waiting for AR to refund me too.

Mignonette · 29/01/2014 11:40

How is Queen?

Not seen her on thread for a while?

shopafrolic · 29/01/2014 12:23

Stokey interesting about Mulberry - they got greedy. I had been buying their bags since my early twenties - I just feel as though I don't know the brand anymore - too flashy and too money grabbing
Liberty when do I get to see the A&W blouse on? Selfie please.

shopafrolic · 29/01/2014 12:25

Mig Queen is taking a break

shopafrolic · 29/01/2014 12:31

I was about to PM Sleep but then thought I'd ask everyone. What (if any) supplements do you take? I'm fed up of feeling lethargic, a bit low and PMT - people have suggested I take supplements but I have no idea which ones (never even taken a multi vitamin).

maradesbois · 29/01/2014 12:47

Hello all,

Thanks again for being so welcoming to newbies!

shopafrolic yes, I was sad about the demise of A&W, it was a brand that really worked for me and good quality. I think there is a market for a classic English aesthetic and would never shop at jack wills (at my age!) where they seem to have added some A&W style more grown up pieces.

Interesting comments from a few of you re. Mulberry. Was not aware of declining quality but think they are chasing a younger market & hiking prices beyond its reach. Even the classic Bayswater was about £500 a few years ago which must have at least doubled now. Think I'll stick with my trusty Birkin!

Blair thanks for your link, will study it tonight when I have more time.

I am on pin but its very much a work in progress - you can find it under my mn name plus 76.

shopafrolic · 29/01/2014 12:53

Can't find you on Pin Mara

Stokey · 29/01/2014 12:57

Birkin envy maradesbois

Mignonette · 29/01/2014 13:08

Hope she is okay.

Shop I take a rocket fuel one called Femergy that is stocked by Amazon and health food places. It has Ginseng, Ginkgo and other stuff in and is fabulous.

I used to take DHEA that I bought from the US but the possible as then unquantified effects scared me and I stopped. I use melatonin for diurnal regulation. Again that has to be bought in the USA. Everything else I get from a good diet. I think that is always better and am a little sceptical of the claims that we all need to supplement all the time.

maradesbois · 29/01/2014 13:12

shop have just followed you (I think!) quite new to pin

shopafrolic · 29/01/2014 13:16
