Do you...

  • love fashion (high and low end), style, beauty?
  • spend way more time than is healthy for anyone thinking about the contents of your wardrobe?
  • wish you had the nerve to apply for Mastermind with your specialist subject being the history of H&M collaborations?

If so come and chat! Hugs and kisses allowed

Blair BrandAlley are having all sorts of issues at the moment and a few of us got stung over Christmas so my advice would be look but don't touch :)

shopafrolic · 15/01/2014 11:29

libertychick · 15/01/2014 11:31

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

This is the bag.

I am rather bag obsessed at the moment - partly to do with losing weight and thus not being so focused on clothes until target reached. I think I'm going to get a Chloe paraty next with Dh's bonus; I have a Marcie which I love.

Wearing black skinnies with a plain black scoop neck top, metallic boots and very blingy (fake) earrings today. I'm fully focusing on summer holiday clothes when I hope to be ready for a bikini .

And finally - I emailed Donna Ida about Goldsigns to see what other styles might work for me. For those that are interested in such things, see the fab response below.

Thank you for contacting us at Donna Ida. I would be happy to help with your query. We currently have good stock levels of the Goldsign Lure Skinny Jeans in washes Position and Focus if you wanted to replace the original pair.

If you were interested in trying another style or brand, I would be happy to offer a few suggestions. If you find that you love the super soft fabrics of Goldsign, I would recommend trying Citizens of Humanity Avedon Skinny Jeans in Axel or Royal. I would strongly recommend sizing down when purchasing these as they have a great deal of stretch in the fabric and will tend to expand with wear. This style can be found on our website by following the link below:

www.donnaida.com/denim-clinic/style-bible/skinny/citizens-of-humanity-avedon-slick-skinny-jeans-personal.html

I would also recommend trying our IDA collection which has a great range of skinny jeans. The Ivy is extremely popular with customers who are looking for a longer inseam. These typically range from 33-34". The Ivy is a high waisted style and comes in several really nice washes. If you opt for the Corded or Velvet versions of this one, you will need to size up as these do run quite small. The link to these on our website is pasted below:

www.donnaida.com/denim/high-waisted-jeans/ida-ivy-skinny-jeans-28211.html

Please let me know what you think of these styles or whether you think your body type may be suited to something else.

Oops strikethrough fail!

GREAT response from Dona Ida shop!

OneLittleLady · 15/01/2014 11:38

Morning all. Welcome to newbies Blair and Darkness I hope you stay Smile

Very quiet on all fronts here, having some pretty nasty side effects from new medications so am mostly limping around feeling sorry for myself! Umlauf hope you and miniumlauf are feeling better soon Thanks

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/01/2014 11:45

Thank you One and hello. That sounds nasty, I hope the side effects go away soon and you feel better.

shop I didn't realise it was that bad re brandalley as I've never bought from there. It's a shame as they often seem to have some good stuff.

darkness what a gorgeous colour, I bet it goes with loads of stuff and just makes an outfit :)

That's impressive from Donna Ida, good customer service makes such a difference. Would definitely make me more likely to buy from them.

I would love to have access to the MNV board, but understand if I'm too much of a newbie - I definitely plan on staying though!

shopafrolic · 15/01/2014 11:53

Blair and Darkness - are you UK based?

Umlauf · 15/01/2014 11:56

Thanks one you too. Were still in bed!

Great customer service from Donna Ida shop

I'm waging war with asos at the moment who have lost DHS birthday present but want me to wait another fortnight before replacement (sale item, won't be there in a fortnight & too late for DHS birthday) They have a Spain based customer service team who are really crap, speak terrible english (better than my Spanish though) and ignore the questions.

Bought the patch jeans in a 27 anni which is my Levi & jbrand photo ready size, oddly I'm a 30 in mih and 28 in normal j brand! They were free delivery and returns which is good for overseas.

LinusDKD · 15/01/2014 12:26

Darkness that is my perfect red! I have been looking for a bag in that colour red but so far no luck. off to pin yet another handbag

shop great cs from Donna Ida. Btw, I have just put the Jimmies in a box. Now all I need to do is go to the postoffice. Wink

one I hope the side effects go away soon.

shopafrolic · 15/01/2014 12:29

Pin you know where ladies - please respond.....

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/01/2014 12:29

Yes am in the UK shop.

How annoying Umlauf :( I love asos and their Premier membership thing is really great, but I do think they have just got too big now to be able to do the customer service side as well as some others. I've had a mix of good and bad service from them. Hope they sort it out!

OneLittleLady · 15/01/2014 12:33

You know, I have no idea how to measure for a decent pair of jeans! Is it based around your normal clothes size?

shopafrolic · 15/01/2014 12:37

measuring for jeans

Umlauf · 15/01/2014 12:39

God knows one they vary so much. I'd go to a boutique and try loads of brands on to see what suits and go from there. My waist measurement is (was?!) about 27 ins so the mih are way off on me!

I agree about them getting too big blair I loved them in the uk but they can't seem to get the international part quite right. It doesn't help that my tracking link says the item was delivered in August Hmm so they've clearly lost it but won't admit it!

OneLittleLady · 15/01/2014 12:40

Thanks Shop I have been thinking that jeans might have wait a while as I've always found them really tricky to fit. I think it'll be something that gets easier the more I slim down though

shopafrolic · 15/01/2014 12:57

QueenC have you NC'd on Pin?

Drywhiteplease · 15/01/2014 13:00

Umlauf hope you both feel better soon, a day snuggling up in bed together sounds lovely.
Novice your PA sounds fab.
Shop v impressed with DA's response. Sure it's not your derrière that caused the seam problem but general wear and tear. Smile
Nice skirt Linus
Darkness hello and thanks for the added inspiration. It is lovely in the red too. Stupidly I now feel as if I'm running a marathon, with all of you cheering me on and the bag will be at the finish line Grin .wonders why NAP don't stock the black Hmm Amber where will you get yours from?
Anni am enjoying your posts Grin

Right......going to have lunch and then I'm GOING IN ....I may be sometime Wink........

shopafrolic · 15/01/2014 13:01
AmberNectarine · 15/01/2014 13:03

I'll go to Gucci at Westfield dry

Decameron · 15/01/2014 13:21

Thanks for the enabling! I will post the dress on MNV not here as don't want it to sell out! Liberty, I have a DVF bag and am always checking them out as a shop around the corner sells them, I think they are v. good quality.

I remember your username, Darknessvisible, am I right in thinking my DD2 shares your name beginning with R?! Love that bag and thinking of saving for it.

Def go for the 29, Shop. Good reply from Donna Ida but I am not very happy with my Avedons, I sized down and they stretched out really quickly. Nice material but I wouldn't buy them again.

shopafrolic · 15/01/2014 13:44

Useful to know re: Avedons Decam Thanks

Decameron · 15/01/2014 13:46

De nada, Shop!

Blair, meant to say, I had no problems with my last Brandalley order.

MarshaBrady · 15/01/2014 13:51

Shop have pinned something for you, but maybe not now.

Darkness meant to say welcome!
