Do you...

  • love fashion (high and low end), style, beauty?
  • spend way more time than is healthy for anyone thinking about the contents of your wardrobe?
  • wish you had the nerve to apply for Mastermind with your specialist subject being the history of H&M collaborations?

If so come and chat! Hugs and kisses allowed

When I saw this skirt in the H&M shop window in our local shopping center I couldn't resist and went in to try it on.

It actually looks a lot better quality IRL and as I trying to venture away from pencil skirts, I bought it! ignores the fact that I am trying to be good this month

Not sure I will style it like The Frugality (me being about 15 years older and considerably less cool) but I think I'll wear it with my Jalouses or Colts and a jumper. Or maybe one of my Equipment silk shirts for going out (so once in a blue moon)

LinusDKD · 15/01/2014 09:53

I might wear it more like H&M have styled it on their website

skirt

Decameron · 15/01/2014 09:55

Well done, Dry on the price reduction! I think a Gucci bag should be your reward.

I like the distressed jeans Blair found (and hi Blair) Shop, but have bought from Singer before, no problems.

Blond, definitely go down one or two sizes in Goldsign.

Johnny Logan went out with my aunt. :)

Your PA sounds amazing, Novice, I need one.

I think I have been more returning than shopping but still have the exact amount in credit for a DVF dress I like. I bought one recently but this is a great reduction. I love it but I'll only get to wear occasionally but then again they are a classic, aren't they???? .

Hope you are surviving, Linus. DH works long hours and is never home in the evening until after the DDs are in bed, which was a pain when they were smaller. In short, you have my sympathies and a virtual Wine.

DD2 and I off out catch up later.

Umlauf · 15/01/2014 09:59

Morning! The baby and I are nt leaving bed today, were both full of cold Sad

Hello blair I'm following your pin!

Was wondering anni what you made of the gap patched jeans? I have a voucher to use and was thinking of those...

Bit late to the party but my Globes dress would be Dior.

Marsha just a thought, but could you have the pettys dyed a dark colour to hide the stain? I was in the cobbler at the weekend and a woman was having a suede jacket dyed from hideous avocado to a really nice bottle green/khaki...

Annianni · 15/01/2014 10:07

They were nice Umlauf, dh hated them... He thought they looked liked workmen's jeans Hmm

They are big size wise, I tried 2 sizes.
I liked them on, except the pale patches on my knees wrinkled which annoyed me. Darker patches would have looked better on me.

Also, I didn't like the faded bits on the back of my calves, they looked liked chalk marks.

But the denim was quite nice. Worth a try I think.

Decameron · 15/01/2014 10:08

Get well soon, Umlauf.

I would wear Armani to the Globes!

darknessvisible · 15/01/2014 10:09

Hello all,

I'm a long-time lurker and used to post occasionally on the Avid and Wise threads here. I'm just back to work after a year's maternity leave with my second and starting to think about wardrobe updates etc. I still have weight to lose but I'm getting there slowly Smile.
I'm on pinterest and I think some of you are following me under my real name (RC); I'm following several of you...
I got a red Gucci disco bag for Christmas and for those of you considering it, I'd highly recommend it Grin.

Anyway, looking forward to sharing links for Spring/Summer!

Annianni · 15/01/2014 10:09

Get well soon too!

She sounds fab Novice

I would wear Tom Ford or Viv Westwood.

Annianni · 15/01/2014 10:11

Welcome Darkness.

Shohooop someone else for you to lick! :o

libertychick · 15/01/2014 10:15

Decam DVF is a classic!

Get well soon Umlauf and mini Umlauf.
Love that skirt Linus
So I have registered on Singer and they have sent me a further 20% off code! I've emailed them to see what they can do in terms of shipping to DH for next week. If it all works - I should be able to get the ones I want for £121ish. Thanks Decam
I'm slightly paranoid that I should be getting a 30 rather than a 29 as the jeans ripped at the point where the back pocket is stitched to the bum which implies my arse was too large for them! But they did fit without me having to lie down to get them on and l always got positive comments so I think I'd better stick with the size I know?

libertychick · 15/01/2014 10:20

Novice a home PA is a fantastic idea - the person you have sounds wonderful. Have sent you a pm.

OP posts:
libertychick · 15/01/2014 10:21

Stick with the smaller size Shop. Next up would definitely be too big.

linus good luck shopping for your ds birthday party. And wow its really cold where you are!

dry well done on the reduction,

Oh and I hope I'm not late but I would choose one of the dresses queen pins ,maybe Saab or maurad for my golden globe dress.

LinusDKD · 15/01/2014 10:25

decam I love DvF. It is one of the brands I can walk into the shop and always find something that suits me.

Sadly the Zarita dress I have been lusting after for ages didn't really look Wow on me when I tried it on. And DH wanted to buy it for me but I didn't feel quite right not full price anyway

Darkness welcome! We will need to see piccies of the bag! Wink

Get well soon umlauf and mini-umlauf!

I have seen Avid and Wise mentioned a few times here now but it was before my time I think. What was it?

I have just changed into my H&M crinkly skirt (wore skinnies and tee before) and I am wearing it with black Falke opaques, my AV purpley/grapey jumper and black Jalouses. Perfect outfit for making party bags! Grin

LinusDKD · 15/01/2014 10:26

Oh and I am following you too blair. Different Pin name (AB)

LinusDKD · 15/01/2014 10:28

santa not too cold here now. Where DH was for the last two days and where he is going now is Brrrrr. He even packed his thermals and his ski jacket!

shopafrolic · 15/01/2014 10:37

Linus PM

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/01/2014 10:41

Morning all!

Thanks and hi to Grumpy, Linus, Anni, Decam, Umlauf and Santa - have tried to follow everyone back on pin :)

novice your new PA already sounds invaluable and anything that helps you focus more on your sister has to be worth it.

Decam I'm here to enable you too with the DVF dress, got my first one just before Christmas for a party and now want more! Which one would you get?

welcome darkness, amazing bag.

Yay shop sounds like you may have solved the jeans dilemma? Very handy to have the opportunity to get delivered in the US.

Some very nice bags on brandalley this morning, lots of prada and gucci (no discos unfortunately Wink) and a studded paraty, worth a look and a drool :)

MarshaBrady · 15/01/2014 10:45

Umlauf thanks that's a great idea. Will do that, much better than re-buying.

Decam can you link DvF again?

Novice sounds perfect for you, great stuff.

MarshaBrady · 15/01/2014 10:47

Linus shame about the Zarita, have pm'd you.

libertychick · 15/01/2014 11:01

Annianni · 15/01/2014 11:05

I have one Liberty, I got a drew bucket tote to use as a nappy bag for Ds2.
It's still in great condition, it just weighs a ton so I don't use it very often now.
Lovely leather though.
