Do you...

  • love fashion (high and low end), style, beauty?
  • spend way more time than is healthy for anyone thinking about the contents of your wardrobe?
  • wish you had the nerve to apply for Mastermind with your specialist subject being the history of H&M collaborations?

If so come and chat! Hugs and kisses allowed

That should have had a Smile on the end!

Umlauf · 18/01/2014 22:31

Just dipping in - who was it that pinned the becksondergaard anchor scarf at tk maxx? I bought it in the other colour, it's arrived, and it's beautiful. Thank you!

Umlauf · 18/01/2014 22:32

this one

BecauseIsaidS0 · 18/01/2014 23:22

Novice, a lot of our admin assistants carry around very expensive bags. They eat beans on toast and dress from Primari so that they can save for the bag.

Sleepwhenidie · 18/01/2014 23:33

Oh Blair, I'm surprising myself here! not usually a fan of chunky heels but I really like those crazy shoes!

shopafrolic · 18/01/2014 23:41

Umlauf I think it was Anni

Morning all. Where is everybody?

Last night a friend was wearing Lures, they looked amazing. A gorgeous boot.
She's also found the Zip satchel by AH at Harrods in grey (10%off today I think)...they e mailed her a photo, looked nice. Queenc one for you.
ST Style mag say Adidas Gazelles are going up....glad I bought some last spring, ahead of the curve for the first time...thank you KM.
And a beautiful red dress by Twenty8Twelve on p27 at AR (not on website yet).

It was a highbrow night of intellectually stimulating conversation not clothes, my frownies, christmas presents etc, usual stuff......but a big discussion on "can you tell a fake diamond. Someone love her said "you'd know Dry" and I'm not sure I would. I can tell pearls. Could you?

AmberNectarine · 19/01/2014 10:00

The girl I sit next to at work is 19 (on a special programme for bright school leavers) and has a Mulberry Del Rey and recently dropped £700 on some Loubs. She lives at home with her parents so her salary is money to burn. She does wear TS and DP clothes though, but you can get away with that at 19.

Drywhiteplease · 19/01/2014 10:15

Twit...a pair of "Colts" !!! Sorry ,I'm confused this morning!

Drywhiteplease · 19/01/2014 10:17

If my DD was living at home at 19 with a good job and spending that on bags and shoes I'd be slightly miffed.........ooooh confused and mean this morning Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 19/01/2014 10:26

Morning all.

Off out for the day with my sister and a friend, shopping and lunch and gossip. Wearing j brand neoprene leggings, Gap windowpane jumper, teal coat, Nike air max and Rebecca Minkoff bag. And a bobble hat in case of cold ears, a la WIT.

Sleep I will try and find the shoes and report back on what they're like!

My brother is the same with living at home and blowing his salary (pays no rent). Not on designer bags however. Grin

Re fake diamonds - I find it interesting as I have read some cynical stuff about de beers inflating diamond prices artificially. Apparently Moissanite (synthetic diamond) is pretty much indistinguishable from a colourless flawless diamond.

Back later, have a lovely sunday everyone!

shopafrolic · 19/01/2014 10:43

I look like shite today. I've turned into the Autumn woman I never wanted to be! Am at home so no-one will see but still! Brown J Brands, Khaki vest, green H Lang knit and chestnut UGG boots. The whole outfit makes me feel about 60! But until my Lures arrive (or Linus' Paige jeans) I am a bit limited as all my others are cropped or have to be worn rolled up and it's too cold....... Wails
Dry which are the Colts? (ignorant)

shopafrolic · 19/01/2014 10:45

Great outfit Blair - have fun
Dry I'd have no idea about diamonds I have to admit.....

Umlauf · 19/01/2014 11:01

I h AV e that gap jumper Blair. Stupid question, but do the squares go circular over your boobs?!

Sleepwhenidie · 19/01/2014 11:13

Re diamonds, I think its pretty hard to tell with the naked eye, especially in daylight rather than artificial light that makes real diamonds catch 'fire' in a different way. I have to say I am tempted by quite a lots of the statement pieces here!

santamarianovella · 19/01/2014 11:45

my dad helped me with rent paid all , Blush so I had more money to spend on clothes and shoes, the wage I was getting at the start of my carer was not so great,it would hardly pay for rent and food, let alone clothes.

dry I couldn't tell the difference, between real or fake diamonds, bot a huge lover or wearer of jewellery, but I can tell handbags,I can tell if they are real or if the quality is bad.

umluaf are the gap patched jeans true to size? I really like them on you,and thinking of getting one.

santamarianovella · 19/01/2014 11:46

*not ,

You are not the only one confused this morning dry Grin

LinusDKD · 19/01/2014 12:05

Afternoon!

Quickly having a bite to eat before the DC wake up from their nap and before the party starts. still in my pj's and need a shower

Can you believe 4 parents haven't even rsvp'd!

I am probably going to wear my H&M crinkly skirt with a simple black poloneck tee, black opaques and black Jalouses. Maybe add some bling to counteract all the black. Wink

I think fake diamonds have come a long way and it's very difficult to tell the difference with the naked eye. But I agree with sleep the brilliancy of a diamond when artificial light or even sunlight catches it is hard to fake.

justasecond · 19/01/2014 12:08

Hi all. Dd's birthday today (9) she wants a sewing machine so we are off to have a look now. I was up late last night watching sewing machine tutorials on youtube as I have never used one.
I am also not sure whether I love the m&s floral shoes or if they are ugly. Could work, might check them out.
I also sometimes see young girls with designer bags and try to work out if fake or not. I suppose it makes sense they blow all their wages on them. I lived at home until I got married at 25 and had a lot of disposable cash but I was boring and saved it Designer bags really were not as big as they are now and I struggle to think of a single it bag from that era or did it all pass me by? I did buy a blingsville CD saddle bag but less said about that the better I think Blush

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 19/01/2014 12:23

Happy birthday Just Jr. Cake

Dry I've given up lusting after stuff in Style/You mag. They're never available when published and never seem to come into stock any time afterwards. I think they're used as lures to make us visit stores and websites.

Santa I heard the jeans ran a bit large, so I ordered 25 instead of the usual 26 and they're perfect. I'd say one size down.

We have two apprentices here, each aged around 20. One drives a brand new Merc with personalised plates, the other a huge 2yo Jag. DD1 is 19 and hardly spends anything. She has occasional splurges on masses of cheap stuff and the odd £150 party dress. She's good at earning and works hard - I hope she hasn't inherited mine (or her father's) spendability although she did buy me a Kitchenaid mixer on a whim, bless her.

Think I might mosey into town and check out those Frugality shoes. Thought they were gopping when I saw them on M&S website, but look lovely on her. Need to try I think (although not my usual style), even if just for curiosity.

Drywhiteplease · 19/01/2014 12:42

colts here these are the boots. A heeled version of Pistols. Fab quality. A bit of a tricky style....too high for day (for some, not really toddler friendly) and a bit casual for evening.....I'd wear them for day though love a heel

Sleep I bought
This a few years ago. Looks lovely....will compare to real in my bathroom with down lighters.....their stuff is pretty good.

Grumpy I've often wondered about items featured in magazines???have watched a few things and they've never appeared online Hmm

MarshaBrady · 19/01/2014 15:06

In Liberty. Really can't decide between Liberty print AG indigo skinnies or a yellow Filippa K sundress for holiday. Hard!

Umlauf · 19/01/2014 15:46

Yes santa Grin I'd agree with grumpy on the patched jeans. I got them in 27, I'm a 27 in my Levi's, 27 in j brand photo ready, 28 in normal j brand, 29 in mih, 10 in Zara jeans.... Hope that helps!! Also, they were tight when trying on but relaxed to fit well after an hour of wear.

I haven't told DH about them and he thinks I made them myself! (He also thinks they look daft.)

Umlauf · 19/01/2014 15:49

My MIL likes the m&s floral shoes....

I shall say no more! (Wicked Grin )

MarshaBrady · 19/01/2014 16:44

Very quickly. Any Shop Bop codes about?

Thanks!
