Do you...

  • love fashion (high and low end), style, beauty?
  • spend way more time than is healthy for anyone thinking about the contents of your wardrobe?
  • wish you had the nerve to apply for Mastermind with your specialist subject being the history of H&M collaborations?

If so come and chat! Hugs and kisses allowed

because I treated myself to two gorgeous Eres bikinis for our honeymoon. I wonder I they fit again now that I have lost weight? ignores mummy tummy

shop DH is back tomorrow lunchtime! Smile
It has been a really long week! He travels a lot but hardly ever for that long so it's been tough at times.
DS really misses him after a couple of days and has these outbursts where he is nearly hysterical and cries out 'daddy'. Sad

DD is a lot less sensitive so doesn't seem to mind but she's still young of course.

umlauf I think it's a compliment!

AmberNectarine · 17/01/2014 13:44

Ahh, tricky. In that case I would give him a decent snack before and hope for the best. If he still tantrums you may just have to take it on the chin - they do grow up and learn to understand eventually, although I know it feels interminable at the time.

I think I've become immune to kick-offs though - having two so close in age one is always winding the other up! They usually act ok in public though, which is handy, though slightly irritating that they save it all for me!

umlauf I'd take that as a major compliment as I love London style (slightly biased being born and bred).

Waiting in for DHL myself. Out tonight - have managed to get us a gig as mystery drinkers at a cocktail bar!

shopafrolic · 17/01/2014 13:47

Is that like mystery shopping Amber but with booze? Sounds right up my street Grin
Linus good news that DH is back soon - he'll fly in and my DH flies out from the sound of things. I saw a kid in the park a few weeks ago pointing at a plane in the sky and yelling and crying "Daddy plane, Daddy plane". His mum explained that her DH had been in Dubai on business for 6 weeks. Really tough.

MarshaBrady · 17/01/2014 13:51

Linus Envy at Eres.

LinusDKD · 17/01/2014 13:56

Ha shop they might even be at the same airport at some point as DH has a stopover at Heathrow.

Poor DH he will come home jetlagged and will have to deal with DS's birthday party the next day. Shock

BecauseIsaidS0 · 17/01/2014 14:02

We are going to Bali Grin

I was thinking Pistol Panties for swimsuits, but maybe I should check Eres. And now I remember I've seen some Melissa O on sale either on NAP or The Outnet...must spend some of that flat money Grin

Barbie1 · 17/01/2014 14:03

because we are also going to Bali in oct...

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/01/2014 14:05

Ooh Amber that sounds great - have fun!

Umlauf definitely a compliment I think.

Shop no advice but don't beat yourself up and remember there is always the Wine

Was just on lunch break and saw a teenage girl with a cobalt celine luggage. Life is not fair!

Stokey · 17/01/2014 14:07

Shop Feel for you - i'd try & sneak something in. Dd1 was a brilliantly behaved baby except for end of swimming classes when she would just kick off - boxes of raisins were the only solution. Think she used to get too cold tbh - hotel pool too, she used to turn blue.

Hello becuase jealous of honeymoon action, I love Sea Folly bikinis always try & acquire when I go to Oz.

decam I sent dvf dresses back to Matches on Monday & got email saying they were processing the return on wednesday - haven't got cash yet but they did say it would take 5-10 days. Have you chased? Very annoying.

Have just finalised 40th plans - having a party in a hotel in Margate with 2 other friends in July. People can stay the night & will be drinks on verandah looking over the sea, dinner & dancing. Quite exciting but not thought about what to wear yet! Think I need to see what kind of summer it is first.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 17/01/2014 14:08

Barbie it's a gorgeous place, isn't it? I spent some time doing yoga in Ubud a few years ago but now we are going to Seminyak for beach relaxation. I also hear there are lots of good restaurants in the area, so we've only booked breakfast and dinner at the hotel so we have options.

Barbie1 · 17/01/2014 14:10

That teenage girl you saw will probably be my dd in 13 years...she seems to think she will have the pick of my bag collection. Her favourite is the 2.55. It apparently makes a nice safe place for her baby dolly Hmm

I can just see her 16 year old self begging to use one of my 'vintage' as they will be then bags Shock

Barbie1 · 17/01/2014 14:12

because I've never been. We are in S,K now so are determined to see more of this side of the world. We have trips to japan, KL and Bali planned thus far...

BecauseIsaidS0 · 17/01/2014 14:14

Oooh I hope you will like it. I love Bali - it is IMO one of the most beautiful places on Earth. They have a sense of equilibrium and beauty in their buildings that's just breathtaking, and it is also the place to go to get great bodywork.

AmberNectarine · 17/01/2014 14:15

That's exactly what it is shop - £30 worth of free drinks. Happy hour is from 5-8, so I'll be maximising that investment.

justasecond · 17/01/2014 14:18

Shop sounds v stressful. Toddler meltdowns are awful, there have been times when mine brought me to tears .It will not last forever though Flowers Wine.
My dh a bit odd in that he says he doesn't fancy any celeb although he did once admit to having a crush on Michelle fowler from Eastenders when he was younger Blush
Umlauf that is a lovely compliment.

shopafrolic · 17/01/2014 14:23

Amber today (just today mind) I'm more jealous of that than of your bag collectionGrin
Linus you're my birthday buddy aren't you? Your DH is away the week before mine and when my DH gets back, 2 days later is DS' birthday. How strange! I agreed to do a small party that day, and the bigger, toddler carnage one a week later to give him time to get over the jet lag. Hmm must have been in a good mood that day.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/01/2014 14:24

Smart girl Barbie, getting in there early with reasons for borrowing it. By the time she is 16 you will be beaten! Wink

LinusDKD · 17/01/2014 14:35

I was waaaaay to serious at 16 to covet DM's bag collection (besides, it was the heyday of Grunge) but now I most certainly do.

At Christmas I tried to convince her to 'loan' me a limited edition LV bag but no such luck.

Apparently backpacks are the newest trend in handbags for next season. What do you all think?

I wouldn't buy one myself but I do have an old leather Delvaux backpack/handbag that DM bought me when I was in my twenties, so I might dig that out again.

Yep shop birthday buddies. Smile

shopafrolic · 17/01/2014 14:36

Love all the coincidences Linus :)

Drywhiteplease · 17/01/2014 15:20

Hello. Breakfast was yummy, lunch; whole meal wrap with chicken breast,Parmesan, spinach and a natural yogurt "Mayo" with a cup of earl grey (my usual).......why am I talking about food? No fashion to report.
Marsha I love getting my Wellies on and going in a decent puddle....miss those daysSad
Umlauf what I said was true Smile and I think to a European "London style" means edgy which is a good thing.
Bacause honey moon in Bali, how lovely.
Linus I'm definitely not a back pack woman Grin
Shop how about getting these and putting one in your pocket next week. Before you get out of the pool tell him you have a special surprise in your pocket if he gets out without crying. Then he can get one every week to put in his bath or something. Bet the shark or octopus would be a big hit!

Decameron · 17/01/2014 15:33

Sounds delicious, Dry.

Shop, the Toddler Taming book by Christopher Green has some good tips. They all do it though and will grow out of it!

I have photoready jeans, I love them. I think Sleep has those exact jeans you are thinking of, Blond.

Stokey yes, I have sent several emails and phoned Matches today, they said they will follow it up. I am Angry now. It was collected by them 10 days ago so don't know why they say they don't have it.

Because, I don't have them but I have heard Violet Lake bikinis are great.

AmberNectarine · 17/01/2014 15:56

That's a fabulous bribery idea from dry

Just taken delivery of a new Zoe Karssen hoodie. Love it - love everything I have ever bought from that label actually.

What to wear tonight?

  1. Forest green Me&Em cowl neck dress with opaques and these boots

Or

  1. This top with black skinnies and the above boots?
Annianni · 17/01/2014 16:01

It's Friday night Amber... something that shows your boobs off Wink

Annianni · 17/01/2014 16:05

Just remembered... When we go to the zoo, I try and leave something in the car that Ds2 will want, snack/treat wise smarties for when he's had enough.

Then we can dash out to the car without too much fuss.

Drywhiteplease · 17/01/2014 16:13

Dress and boots Amber but only if you show us a picture!!!!!
2 kids and 6 yrs working with 2-4yr olds taught me a thing or two!!!!!
Shop on holiday a few years ago! we were on loungers by the pool, a toddles was having a ballistic tantrum, didn't want to leave pool to go and have bath/dinner....dad just ignored and walked off! toddler eventually followed.........huge round of applause from everyone round the pool. We've all been there. Once when my DS didn't want to put his plate down on the table I just served his dinner on the table, he was Shock that shut him up that was before I bought my beautiful oak tableWink
