I would like to come along tomorrow if that's still ok: Mum seems happy to stay put a little longer. Looking forward to seeing everyone and revising which name goes with which MN handle (limited capacity for information these days Grin)

I was at a public school - I boarded from the age of 11. It was a very academic environment, so there was no problem being a brainiac. No mercy on the sports field, though.

What to wear tomorrow?? Tricky. I'm in town all day; off for my Vitality Plan induction, then I shall kill time at the shops until it's time to meet up.

Is it still 6pm at the restaurant??

CointreauVersial · 16/01/2014 22:27

Boo, Ruby.

And yay, Auriga!

QueenQueenie · 16/01/2014 22:30

Rudy Sad
Auriga Grin

I know we have the table booked from 6... I probably won't make it there til 7ish. Is that OK? Is the 6pm start aimed at the dedicated drinker rather than ordering food at 6?

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/01/2014 23:45

The lushes will be there at 6, QQ. Not sure what time I will be there - it depends on what time DD1 gets home from school. But will aim for 6. Grin

QueenQueenie · 17/01/2014 00:06

So I can get there at six and be hardcore... or turn up later and you lot will be a bit giggly and rather loud? I'll see what time I can get away and join you....

Blackduck · 17/01/2014 06:12

Aiming for 6, but may have to alternate drinks :)

Rudy :( will miss you....(and your cleavage :) )

bigTillyMint · 17/01/2014 06:53

Great you can come Auriga, Sad Rudy can't.

Yes 6pm start (aimed at the dedicated drinkers people who would otherwise be hanging around for ages in town) - be there or be squareGrin

CV I am still veryEnvy despite my legs still being as stiff as boards from circuits on Tuesday!

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/01/2014 07:29

"Someone" knows we crepeys are on here - I've had an advert for "Chums" pop up down the side... HmmConfused

bigTillyMint · 17/01/2014 08:04

MrsS. I've had one at the top!

lalsy · 17/01/2014 08:08

Really looking forward to meeting you all. I will be stylishly attired in thick blue fleece and waterproof (have chilly day), probably arriving with addle though, so we don't need a code.

motherinferior · 17/01/2014 08:12

I'm the short redhead in the purple wool dress - I'm slightly concerned it's too short, though am ignoring prudish 13 year old's view it's 'too low-cut' Grin

OP posts:
lalsy · 17/01/2014 08:27

She'd approve of my wool-and-goretex look.....

motherinferior · 17/01/2014 08:31

Oh, she'd find something to be embarrassed about in that too!

OP posts:
beachyhead · 17/01/2014 08:37

I'm really sorry, but I'm going to have to pull out. dd2 is home with a 'rather active' tummy. It was bad at school yesterday, but stoically she managed to last all day, only to be very upset, in a number of ways last night. So my plans to sneak off up t'London are scuppered. Sad

Bad mother: I did try to persuade her to go in, but realised I would probably get summoned in to collect her within an hour.

I'm so far away, if I wait for dh to be home, I would only get there about an hour before I had to leave again, and by the sounds of it, you may all be passed out by then!

Have one or two for me, I'll be thinking of you.

I boarded from 11 - 18. All girls, then straight to a boys boarding for sixth form, where girls were in short supply. Had a whale of a time.... probably could have done more work, but no regrets there Grin I'll never regret not working enough. 'Just enough, just enough' seems to have been my work motto, and it's done me OK so far.

Blackduck · 17/01/2014 08:43

Ahh Beachy :( looking forward to catch up!

Stropperella · 17/01/2014 09:17

Oh boo, Rudy and Beachy Sad

I may have an even longer and more drawn-out journey than usual. Emergency engineering works on the line between Poole and Bournemouth. Drat.

herbaceous · 17/01/2014 09:29

I'll be there before 7, as DP returning from the grindstone about 5.30. Sorry we won't see you norty non-attenders - I'm sure we can 'have one for you'!

Not sure what to wear, either. Maybe my new Reiss jumper? Or will that be too hot?

motherinferior · 17/01/2014 09:41

Beachy, hope she's better soon!

OP posts:
beachyhead · 17/01/2014 10:42

I think closeness to the loo and the TV remote control seem to be doing the trick.

She'll be bouncing off the walls by 2pm!

bigTillyMint · 17/01/2014 11:16

BeachySad

Herbs, Reiss jumper sounds good.

Stropps, text me when you get into London!

I am looking forward to a Wine or two!

motherinferior · 17/01/2014 13:56

Oh wow, my 47 year old friend has had her baby!
