For women, I'm thinking ballet or whatever that hula hoop one is. Men - swimming?

Yoga for sure

cardamomginger · 08/01/2014 20:54

Ballet - for both women and men.

Womnaleplus · 08/01/2014 20:55

Hmm, yes possibly swimming is little unbalanced.

Ruby, do you think yoga gives a better figure than Pilates?

OP posts:
eurochick · 08/01/2014 21:07

Resistance training, no question - gives a nice defined, strong, athletic figure.

gindrinker · 08/01/2014 21:10

Athletics.
I'd kill for Jessica Ennis' body.
I suspect there is a lot of resistance/weights involved.

bettybleep · 08/01/2014 21:29

Gymnastics and rowing

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2014 21:30

Yoga

dyslexicdespot · 08/01/2014 21:35

Ashtanga yoga

Bexicles · 08/01/2014 21:36

Completely biased here...yoga!

ElizabethBathory · 08/01/2014 21:37

Pilates, and maybe ballet but too much ballet means massive calves and thighs. Depends what you like of course!

SwedishEdith · 08/01/2014 21:37

I always used to think ice-skaters had great figures. Strong and toned but in propotion.

What's resistance training?

RhondaJean · 08/01/2014 21:37

Strength weightlifting for women. Martial arts for men.

Never running, string beans.

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2014 21:37

Ballet does make your calves bigger.

CooEeeEldridge · 08/01/2014 21:39

Resistance training and running, for both.

frankietwospots · 08/01/2014 21:40

Kettlebells. Gave me the best arms I've ever had. I do 30 mins high impact and am drowning in sweat when I leave. I've even bought my own kettlebells so I can do it at home.

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 21:41

Damn, i was going to look into doing ballet but I already have HUGE calves, I can't let them get any bigger!

frankietwospots · 08/01/2014 21:41

Oh and tabata training is also great.

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2014 21:42

One, perhaps it's when you go en pointe. I'm sure it's fine before that. Go for it.

ElizabethBathory · 08/01/2014 21:43

No ballet definitely makes your calves bigger even if you don't go en pointe! But it depends why your calves are big in the first place - if it's fat it might burn it off and they'll get smaller? It's amazing for toning your legs and butt.

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2014 21:45

Oh ok Grin. But yes might reduce you never know.

It's very good exercise.

Flidais · 08/01/2014 21:45

Dance, not necessarily ballet. Probably not Morris either, though I have never made a close examination.

DrNick · 08/01/2014 21:46

gah 0 yoga is just lying around

DrNick · 08/01/2014 21:46

i would say kettlebells or pump

Skinheadmermaid · 08/01/2014 21:46

Martial arts

DrNick · 08/01/2014 21:46
