A safe place to talk fashion stuff. Bring a passion for fashion (high end or high street), a positive state of mind and lots of links.

Barbie such lovely gifts, your dh has excellent taste.

I agree on the houndstooth and think they'd look great to the ankle.
LNA ts are great, I love mine.

I had a dream you got a box of Chanel chocolates, they were oversized. Go figure Grin

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2014 08:01

Argh for you Linus, what a pita.

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2014 08:03

Grumpy which jacket did you get? Sounds lovely but I can't remember.

LinusDKD · 11/01/2014 08:29

orange Lanvin flats for marsha.

Or shouldn't I be tempting you? Wink

BrandyAlexander · 11/01/2014 08:45

Morning everyone! Still cheered by the bag porn last night especially as I sat on my purse!

Happy belated birthday Barbie, such lovely lovely gifts! Well done Mr Barbie, sounds like you had a great day.

So I have been buying this morning....PEPPA PIG stuff! it's dd's 5th birthday soon and she's having all her school friends at a soft play centre. So just been buying balloons, bunting cups and all the other bits. Haven't started on the party bags yet! Such excitementWink

Hello NUFC69! Didn't get to say hello before in the madness that was the fall out from Chanel-gate. What's your style? Are you on pin?

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2014 09:12

Barbie " spoilt and shallow" never on here! Shock the point of MNV is to share links with people who just love fashion, no judgements made, just drooling and a whole lot of enabling Smile . And goodness me, in your wedding pic you look 5.11" , but you're little too....love it! please could you fly over and do my make up and make me look 15 yrs younger Grin

Right.......I've spent wasted a lot if time thinking about handbags and investment pieces. My NY resolution again is to resist spending lots of "little" bits and just buy, say, one special piece from time to time, I just need to SAVE!!! If I could muster Amber's will power I could do it, I've managed a dry man so far! can a dry fashion month be as Hard? Hmm

Annianni · 11/01/2014 09:14

Dry man?! :o
Dry I think I love you!!! :o

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2014 09:15

Ahem....that would be " a dry Jan"!!!! Although a "dry man" , George, Eddie or Ryan, would be lovely too Grin

And marsha I loathe sloppy kissing too. Disgusting! There's a fine line between a Patsy type, ridiculous air kiss and an unhygienic, full on dampening of cheek I need a YUCK face

Annianni · 11/01/2014 09:19

Barbie your dh is fabulous.
Gorgeous gifts.

Welcome to NUFC69 Smile

Those orange Lanvin are lovely.
After seeing the gigis, I think I want some orange sandals or flats for s/s.

BrandyAlexander · 11/01/2014 09:21

Oh I got all excited there in a "hey 'up" here's some gossip kinda way....I was wondering whether mr dry knew he was dry man?Grin

Decameron · 11/01/2014 09:23

I forgot to say hi to NUFC69 and other delurkers too.

Ha ha Dry! I have been stopping myself buying more skinny jeans and scarves this month.

Barbie, wonderful presents, I especially like the Marant jacket. Can you link to yours, Grumpy?

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2014 09:24

Novice up here that would be "aye ooop" pronounced like "hay"

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2014 09:31

Linus they are lovely, I'm a bit phew atm as they are patent, and I need non-patent. So if you see those in about a month, I'm in Grin

Barbie, Dry is right, as ever. We don't even know the words shallow and spoilt, we love all this stuff. It's great to share it with you.

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2014 09:34
BrandyAlexander · 11/01/2014 09:34

Gah failed my Northern test! Hhmm please can you imagine me saying it properly instead of in my very rah-rah voice?!

shopafrolic · 11/01/2014 09:58

Morning all!
First up - Barbie lovely, lovely gifts - what fab taste your DH has - he knows your style very well. God knows what would happen if I left DH to choose stuff for me, I dread to think.
Novice we're doing a Peppa Pig party for DS - I got all my stuff from Amazon, dirt cheap. Good luck!
So the Frames are going back - weeps. They just don't feel right. They are a little loose at the back, and they wrinkle up the backs of my legs. Put simply, they aren't as good as the Goldsigns so I'll always feel let down. I was however won over on the length for Spring, so will keep an eye out for something else. Marsha how about you?
One week till DH goes to the States for a week. He's in a foul mood about it already!

Ok Shop I have them on. They are not too short for me I don't think, just on the ankle. But I'm not sure! I want to like them but I need to think about it.

It's more that I need other stuff first maybe. Like a summery dress / skirt.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 11/01/2014 10:07

Isabel Marant - you may have seen it somewhere before Wink

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2014 10:08

Also being really picky not sure I like them round the knees and ankles, as you say seem to crinkle.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 11/01/2014 10:11

Sorry. try again

shopafrolic · 11/01/2014 10:16

That will have to be the MNV jacket!! Lovely Grumpy
Marsha Glad it's not just me. They look great at first, but they feel quite thick even though they have a lot of stretch IYSWIM. It was the back of the legs that really put me off. Too many wrinkles. Would annoy me I just know it. So back they go. I feel quite relieved :) But it doesn't solve the problem of my lack of skinny jeans!

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2014 10:17

Me too Shop feels good to send them back. Am filling out RMA right now.

I'd prefer light ones now I think.

Grumpy wonderful!

Decameron · 11/01/2014 10:46

Gorgeous jacket, Grumpy.

Shop, have you tried Paige hoxtons? They are my second favourites. Also Hudson collins, J Brand 620 and Mother denim.I like skinny skinny jeans.COH avedon started out almost perfect but are too big now. My friend tells me I have a jeans addiction.

OneLittleLady · 11/01/2014 10:55

Lovely gifts Barbie your DH has great taste. As others have said, you don't come across as shallow or anything so don't worry about it Smile

NUFC69 · 11/01/2014 11:00

Thank you again for all your welcomes. No, I am not on Pin; although I have been looking at all the lovely things you have put there.

As I said right at the beginning, I am - ahem - very elderly - a grandmother to three children, but I just love fashion and beauty products. After losing all the weight I did last year, I am still finding my "new" style; but I love the Katharine Hepburn look - tailored trousers and drapey shirts in beautiful fabrics. Oh, and I can be persuaded to go elderly Rockchic, too. Love to wear black jeans with a leather jacket, and a nice scarf. Trousers of any kind are a problem for me, though, as I have had a knee replacement and consequently that knee is very swollen and anything which constricts it is uncomfortable. This means that I tend towards slouchy trousers and tops at home, although I do love tailored things. Oh, and I love jewellery - am never without earrings and, usually, a necklace of some description. My favourite piece of jewellery is a ring which DH's DAunt left me in her will - emeralds and diamonds in a "diamond" shape.

Someone mentioned Missoni earlier - we were in Arizona a couple of years ago when there was a collaboration between the company and Target; I think we went into a store on the day the collection came out - there was literally nothing left after about an hour.

I hope you don't mind an ancient old crone butting in every so often? I love most of the things you pin or link.
