A safe place to talk fashion stuff. Bring a passion for fashion (high end or high street), a positive state of mind and lots of links.

I say yay.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 09/01/2014 19:28

Puppies!!!

Sigh. I want a puppy soooooo badly, but DH and I are away from home a lot - long hours at work, London commute and the kind of dog we'd like (a pug) doesn't take well to solitude.

shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 19:51

because Don't do it!!! Puppies are bloody hard work and dogs need a lot of looking after. Unless you can get dog sitters and walkers it's really not fair.
Now that our lab has died our spaniel is howling during the day she's so lonely :(
Anyone else feeling a it sad or just me?

BecauseIsaidS0 · 09/01/2014 19:52

...but going back to fashion, I loved this . DH and I want to do a California road trip and I think I will have to stop there so that she can do her magic on me!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 09/01/2014 19:53

shop Sadly, I won't get the puppy because it wouldn't be fair for the poor thing to be left alone for so long. Maybe one day, when I've had enough of my corporate job..sigh.

OneLittleLady · 09/01/2014 19:57

Feeling a bit blue myself Shop that could just be because it's my birthday at the weekend and I always get sad round that time. Not sure why really, just seems to have happened every year since I was about 16 Confused

Sleepwhenidie · 09/01/2014 20:02

DH and I did LA to San Francisco Coast road trip on our first holiday together because. Something magical happened then, I got pg Shock. Don't say I didn't warn you Smile

Shop don't be sad...poor spaniel though.

I like the sound of the tortoiseshell One

Just heading out to cinema with DH, going to see American Hustler.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 09/01/2014 20:05

I wouldn't mind a Californian baby! Grin

shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 20:05

Waves to Sleep - report back please, I need a cinema outing.

Yes me too. I missed Gravity after all that. Still want to go to the movies with dh some time.

shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 20:06

Because that woman is very inspirational. Makes me wish I could sew.

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 20:07

I missed that too Marsha and I don't think it will be as good on the little telly.

MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 20:08

I know, damn!

I was feeling irked, by I am heartened by the lovely messages and all of you being fab. So thanks Thanks

Am watching Because.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 09/01/2014 20:08

shop isn't she? One of my favourite bloggers/instagrammers, Aureta, often wears her clothes and they are gorgeous.

LinusDKD · 09/01/2014 20:11

Go for it one! I used to have a tortoiseshell pair when I was teenager. Still one of my favourite pairs of glasses.

shop poor spaniel!

I have been feeling a bit blue as well but I guess it's the usual post-Christmas anti-climactic downer I usually experience at the beginning of a new year.

polyhymnia · 09/01/2014 20:12

Red hair and tortoiseshell would be good IMO as a glasses fan.

MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 20:13

I think red hair and tortoiseshell can look great together.

polyhymnia · 09/01/2014 20:13

PS I always find Jan pretty depressing too

Drywhiteplease · 09/01/2014 20:18

Right.....I'm back. How much time do I waste on Mn? Shock
Visa bill sorted.
DH in his study....tripped over the Dyson when he can home early " who left that here?"
"What you doing coming home at 3.30 ?!!" Twerp!

I missed Gravity too. I think it needs to be seen on a big screen in 3D.
Shop I watched "I'll give it a year" last week. Agree the fashion was lovely and the marquee but it was a bit cringeworthy, ESP the threesome scene with DS (15) in the roomShock he said "that's friends with benefits Mum!" I was Shock " how the heck do you know that?!!!"

NUFC congrats...what a great achievement.
Because hello again.
Unlauf I saw the photo....horrendous, I hope you're ok.
Thanks randomly to my name sake. X

And big Thanks to all the lurkers for saying such kind things. I think a lot of the stuff that was posted on NYE was heartfelt and sincere and says it all about this thread.

Anni thanks again for the Gigi link.
Novice I went to the car wash today and thought of you xx oven next! btw when you say you ditched the diamond studs I take it they went back in the jewellery box/safe!

shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 20:24

I'm not blue in general, just wish people were nicer. Anyways......I've pinned my Me&em bits to my considering board. Not very exciting. I very nearly ordered this dress but wondered what colour tights I'd wear? And if I could toughen it up at all?
I also hovered over this skirt but again - how to dress down?

WhattoWearNow · 09/01/2014 20:34

Hi all - I think you are all absolutely lovely to delurkers - I love it here. Anyway I am back in the room now after Christmas, New Year, holiday & back to school. Am exhausted. My new year resolutions are:

  1. Buy less Buy Better
  2. Eat better
  3. Drink less wine
  4. Sort out wardrobe & head (the two are linked I am sure. Messy wardrobe, messy head)
You will be pleased to hear that by Jan 9th
  1. I have shopped the sales cheaply - 1 coat, 1 bag, 1 pair of jeans, another bag, another pair of jeans etc etc
  2. Bought some bargain chocolate selection boxes in Tesco - there is nothing left apart from a Crunchie.....
  3. Managed 3 days
  4. Not even started
So - what do I do? I absolutely can't buy anything else - no money or space. I need to sort out my wardrobe. Can anyone help? I can't pin - it would take forever seriously I never chuck anything out. What if I might miss something? It is ridiculous. I think I need to go cold turkey and not buy anything for a year. But as you can see I don't really do resolutions!! Anyway I found this article really interesting - I want to be naturally stylish rather than naturally easily led!here Anyway, I hope Santa you manage to get the scan for your DD. Our firstborn DC has some problems but no one was interested but after lots of pushing & investigation they had a simple op & it was the best thing we ever did. I know it is different circumstances but don't be afraid to go with your gut. Hope your Dsis is doing well Novice & hope you are in less pain One. Also hope the loss of Shopdog is getting a bit easier to bear. Umlauf - that is terrible - I have a massive fear of a tree falling on our house in high winds. Glad you are all ok, & hope Queen you are feeling better now. Off to give myself a talking to (over a glass of wine).....
BecauseIsaidS0 · 09/01/2014 20:35

shop, wear the dress with nude tights or without! and toughen it up with a biker jacket or biker boots. Kind of like what they do in the All Saints campaigns.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 09/01/2014 20:39

Shop I have the Me & Em merino 2-in-1. It's nice - very soft and sits on the hips. I had to mess around with the neck snood a bit, but I find that it's best when you put it under the neckline of the sweater. It doesn't fit tight against the neck, some may like this, some may not.

Do I understand right that some people just lurk on here to sneer at us? Very sad if it's true - surely there are better ways of spending your time? I mean, we're not exactly controversial...

LinusDKD · 09/01/2014 20:39

shop I wear my M&E dresses with my jalouses and I might try them with my Colts.

Can someone buy this because I don't need a clutch --and I am still lusting after the red one anyway]]
