A safe place to talk fashion stuff. Bring a passion for fashion (high end or high street), a positive state of mind and lots of links.

queenc poor you! I hope you feel better soon.

novice that is a gorgeous bag! Love the colour!

dry very Envy about Royal Ascot!

santa (((hugs))) I really hope you can convince DH to schedule a scan for DD.

I bought a Chinti and Parker dress in the NaP sale but have been very good otherwise. only because I spent a bit too much in December

Oh and two pairs of black trousers from Asos.

Apart from the two TS Leigh jeans I bought in London I also bought a royal blue Equipment shirt in the Selfridges sale but I wasn't tempted by anything else.

The last shop I went into on Saturday evening was Fenwicks and I was surprised to see it virtually empty.

Each floor I went to had about 4 other people apart from me and the staff and that on a Saturday at the beginning of the Sales! They did have good deals and many brands were identical to Selfridges/Liberty but the store was just abandoned. I wonder how they survive but maybe I just came at a bad time.

We have been potty training DS since last week and it is going ok-ish. Pipi is not a problem but he just refuses to use the potty/toilet to poo. Hmm

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2014 19:01

Linus I can imagine that, you don't hear much about Fenwick these days. I really still need a summery dress, maybe I should look in there.

C&P sounds fantastic, links please!

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2014 19:14

Ooh arrived home to a big Boden box. I ordered a bright pink cashmere crew neck and the silver pointy slingback flats with the voucher they gave me back in Nov and forgot all about them - nice surprise. Want spring now so I can wear the shoes!!

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2014 19:16

Oh and I ordered some Charles Phillip tartan flats from NaP yesterday but that it IT now. Have spent a bloody fortune.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 08/01/2014 19:31

LinusDKD · 08/01/2014 19:40

It is a very simple dress but it looks perfect for just throwing on in the morning.

Drywhiteplease · 08/01/2014 19:47

P.m Grumpy!!!!

RubyLovesShopping · 08/01/2014 19:57

Loving the Chanel thread, about halfway through whilst wait for dc2 to fall asleep, it's so bitchy no wonder I just stay here!

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 19:59

God there are some naive people around. Hmm. Can they not smell goady troll? Or a rinser?

Those shoes sound lovely Amber.

When I was 18 and in Hong Kong I bought two pairs of pointy toe sling backs- one in pale primrose yellow and another in burnished silver. I wore them for years, loved them dearly and still look for a replica decades later. They revealed THE perfect amount of toe cleavage. These details matter don't they? I was thinking the other day how lovely silver looks with brights- pink, yellow and electric blue. You are clearly of a like mind.

I had an odd result with Zatchels. Do you recall my praising them a while back? Well I had to send the stachel back as it was too big and so far, so good, with them offering a free swap and free returns. They promised I'd get a replacement by Christmas. Well on the 24th I get an email saying "Merry Christmas. We are now closed until 2nd Jan and no orders will be despatched before then". I hit the roof. After seven emails sent by me and an ultimatum that if it hadn't arrived by the day after my daughters birthday, I would seek a refund it arrived. But still no response or explanation or apology. Well this evening I get an email saying they will refund me in full AND let me keep the bag. I don't know what to say. It missed DD's Christmas and her birthday. But am I daft for feeling guilty at keeping the bag and refund? They did meet my ultimatum after all.

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2014 20:00

Love that Linus. How gorgeous. Sales have been really good this time, and your links are making me look even more. Dangerous! Grin

Grumpy like the sound of your J Crew and Baukjen balls please links please!

Amber saw those tartan slippers, they are great.

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2014 20:03

Shop soz one last little question, pm. Will stop soon!

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 20:10

I wouldn't feel bad Mig they offered you a poor service and despite no apology, it's still good of them to compensate you.

RubyLovesShopping · 08/01/2014 20:14

Amber I ordered the pointy sling backs but couldn't make them work for my feet, one size too narrow, next size too long. When you next wear the tokyos take a pic please! Are they really narrow. I do like them.
Where are the MNV goldsigns?
Dry amazing news you are v lucky it will be a wonderful clothes watching experience as well as everything else.
Still no parcel from atterley road.... Waiting.....,
I may be venturing out to selfridges next week (local branch), so long as can keep us all from any bugs and viruses (queenc hope you feel better soon).
Back to read more of the mudslinging thread.

RubyLovesShopping · 08/01/2014 20:16

Mig- keep. Don't feel bad they did not fulfill the order in time. If you feel guilt tweet how wonderful their cs had been etc

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2014 20:19

Ruby I'll put them on my blog this weekend - they aren't too narrow at all, really comfy and just fabulously glam for a trainer. I really love them.

Mig I have the Orange version of the boden flats and wore them so much last summer, so I had to get the silver. I do love silver with brights, feels so fresh.

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 20:21

Jeez, that thread! I can't believe some of the comments about poor OP. I'm not commenting because I don't think I'd be very pleasant but it's certainly an eye-opener to some peoples attitudes

LinusDKD · 08/01/2014 20:24

Talking about messing up orders, did I tell you the latest installment in the Decanter Saga?

So John Lewis, to my surprise, delivered a decanter at DPIL address after having refunded me for not sending one in time for Christmas (and after I ordered a replacement from Amazon which arrived broken).

So I e-mailed JL to express my surprise and to ask what to do because I had a decanter I hadn't paid for. So they sent me a lovely e-mail back telling me to keep it for free.

I was very dissapointed with their service to begin with, but they really made up for it.

marsha definitely go to Fenwick! I was there on the 28th so maybe they don't have much left but it is worth a try.

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 20:25

Linus sounds like they really tried to make amends.

LinusDKD · 08/01/2014 20:26

Look at these silver beauties

I know they are flat and not pointed but I just love them. They are slightly on the kitchy side with the tiger embroidery but I don't care!

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 20:28

I love those Linus!

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2014 20:40

Linus they are FABULOUS. My Kenzo tiger ring and t shirt are my favourite things ATM.

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 20:44

Erm I'm one of the people commenting about OP in a not very positive light.

She is a goader.

Yes, brights and silver are fresh and silver + light tan looks especially cute.

I need to step away from that Chanel thread before I go postal.

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 20:45

Linus do you have them? They are bold and beautiful!

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2014 20:45

I love the term go postal.

I got some navy New Balance sneakers when I was young. But we broke up and I had to give him the £60. . I know, lucky me Grin
