A safe place to talk fashion stuff. Bring a passion for fashion (high end or high street), a positive state of mind and lots of links.
Continuing on from vol 29 here

Oh man I could talk for hours about cosmetics Blush

Barbie1 · 07/01/2014 10:39

this is my current foundation this offers the buildable coverage along with a natural finish.

OneLittleLady · 07/01/2014 10:41

thanks barbie we have an Estee Lauder counter in town so will start there

Barbie1 · 07/01/2014 10:59

Finally (I promise to shut up now)

Also check out max factor. If my memory serves me right they have some pretty pale shades, a few girls on the counters used to wear it and pass it off as there own brand...shhh I never told you that.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 07/01/2014 10:59

Good morning ladies,

Today's Grazia has a really good spread on La Moss. I have to admit her style is not my thing but probably because I couldn't pull it off. In fact, only she can!

OneLittleLady · 07/01/2014 11:21

I'm really undecided about La Moss. Of course, she looks great but I wonder if the tales of her excess and tangled love life have put me off her a bit. It shouldn't, as of course, it's not my place to judge but I think it creeps in and colours my view of her a bit

Sleepwhenidie · 07/01/2014 11:33

Hello! I can't believe, even after all this time, how fast this thread move...turn my back for a second and you're on vol 8 p10 Shock.

I am completely in love with Armani Maestro foundation which I discovered just before Christmas, when I was looking for slightly heavier coverage than Chanel Aqua Lumiere, which I would still use in the summer. Check the Maestro out too One its oil and powder so sinks into my dry skin but leaves gorgeous light coverage on the surface. The concealer is also excellent. Sorry to hear about the pain clinic by the way Hmm - don't give up though, there must surely be something they can do. Was Smile at Dp pinching your spinach - the man who wouldn't touch anything green a few months ago, you are clearly having an influence!

Another lecture from DH about bills this morning - that would be the astronomical Amex statement that arrived Blush. I am really really going to behave for a couple of months, so sticking fingers in ears and closing eyes at all your no doubt lovely links its agony!

OneLittleLady · 07/01/2014 11:36

Good to see you Sleep will check out the Maestro foundation too, am willing to try out plenty to find the right one. Oh yes sleep, DP is definitely getting better, he's even eating smaller portions and seriously considering going low carb for a while as whenever he eats anything carb heavy, he gets terrible reflux that makes him sick. I've told him I'd never force or nag him into an eating plan he doesn't want to do but that I think he needs to start paying more attention to his diet and making some changes.

Oh dear about Amex bill, you'll have to behave then sleep!

Calling handbag experts - can anyone tell me what the handbag is that Jennifer Aniston has on Page 12 of Grazia?

OP posts:
LinusDKD · 07/01/2014 12:58

Don't have Grazia but my guess is the Tom Ford Jennifer. I am soooo lusting after that bag!

Saw it IRL in NY and it was gorgeous! But £££££

I think I saw one at Harrods when I was in London.

LinusDKD · 07/01/2014 12:59

shopafrolic · 07/01/2014 13:20

Nice Shop, I can see you with that.

Atterley Rd still not here! Ruby has yours arrived?

OneLittleLady · 07/01/2014 17:50

Gorgeous bag

Drywhiteplease · 07/01/2014 18:11

Barbie congratulations at surviving the sickness! kilo loss an added bonus .
One I found matte foundation got stuck in all the creases and make me look more wrinkly . I now prefer a lighter coverage. Also adore Touch Éclat for under eye dark rings.

OneLittleLady · 07/01/2014 18:18

I've arranged a time to call in at the estee lauder counter so they can have a decent amount of time to see what might suit me. I've already warned them that I won't be buying on the day as I'd like to see how things look at home and with my own methods of application. The lady at the counter seemed nice and agreed that it was a good idea.

RubyLovesShopping · 07/01/2014 18:24

Yes that bag is the TF Jennifer, also comes in lovely purple:navy shade.
Barbie all these bugs sound awful- I spent most of November with achild home ill, hopefully we've built a resistance to it all.
Marsha I've only just had the dispatch email earlier, coming by Royal Mail am hoping for tomorrow but realistic that it will come thur.
My anna order was v quick, came from 3 separate stores and they all posted next day delivery, v impressed. Kept the shoes and scarf but the sweater and top have gone back as just not right.
I need a navy bag, just can't see any I like!

shopafrolic · 07/01/2014 18:35

ARSE (literally)!! My Goldsigns have got a hole in them - more like a ladder really (weirdly). My most loved jeans ever (thanks Decam) have given up the ghost. I have worn them practically every day!
Help!!!! Anyone know of anywhere I can get bargains Goldsign Lures from ATM?

OP posts:
LinusDKD · 07/01/2014 18:43

No replacement for your Goldsigns but would you like my Jimmies?

I love them so much but they are really getting too big now I've lost a stone.

I want them to go to a good home and I know you love yours and are a size 30. They are quite a dark wash and yours are lighter, no?

RubyLovesShopping · 07/01/2014 18:44

Shop tags have some as final sale items not sure which colours, £75

shopafrolic · 07/01/2014 19:25

Hi! need to go back and catch up again just can't keep up! Hope everyone who was ill feeling better. The Tory Burch bag has arrived and I love the size and style just not 100% on the colour, I will pin a pic over on mnv in a bit. Also it is quite a formal style, can I use it day to day?
I went shopping with a friend at weekend and found my perfect boots but will have to return them, I will pin a pic later explaining why..Sad
One I have tried and tested loads of liquid foundations over the years, the ones I rate are YSL touche eclat foundation use this atm. Giorgio Armani luminous silk, got a sample at the weekend and it is excellent, personally found the Maestro a bit too oily for me. Chanel vitalumiere also v good and Mac studio fluid also v good put can't get a colour to match me, they are all a bit orange on. At the cheaper end Borjois healthy mix is vv good - if you can get a good colour match.

The TF bag is lovely this is similar in style and not as £
Barbie can you recommend a pressed powder I can use over foundation on my oily t zone? Don't want anything to make me look caked. Laura Mercier has a colourless one I am thinking of getting.
