After the brilliant success of our Christmas Countdown Princessing thread I'm starting a new thread to take us to Easter. From 1st Jan it's 108 days so there will be a countdown to this days.

This idea stems from the original princessing threads but has evolved to accommodate all aspects of beautifying, beauty, clothes, diet, exercise etc.

What we like to do is a list of what your planning on doing and working through it.

Links to follow.

Morning ladies Smile

I am still here, going to start again properly tomorrow with a big pamper session. My hair, nails and feet need some serious tlc. Spring seems to be on it's way; the weather's nicer, sun is shining more. Hopefully be able to get some of my pumps out soon (I actually think most of them are a bit battered and want replacing).

First day of half term here Dilidali, I'll be rushing around sorting uniform next weekend Grin . Got to entertain the girls for another week first Confused . I think we're off to explore the other side of the river later on so best get my welly boots out for that.

Right, off to take vits & make another cuppa before I do anything else. Hope you all have a nice weekend Smile

workatemylife · 22/02/2014 10:11

57 days! Help - is it too late to join? I need a kick up the rear Grin

before a family event and holiday at easter, i will:
lose the weight that i have put on since january by troughing all day at work
sort out my feet. Hard skin, manky toes.
get back to c25k: i could do it in the autumn but probably not now as a result of work, rain, and chocolate
clean out my wardrobe. Stuff that i don't wear or is damaged / worn beyond a neat fix.
no new clothes till easter / once the weight comes off. I am not buying bigger sizes to accommodate my lack of self control!
fix hair. Not sure how, but try anyway.

watching here for tips and company Smile

56 DAYS TO GO

StyleOverSubstance · 22/02/2014 11:38

Welcome aboard Work - definitely not too late to join as any change or improvement you can make in the remaining time is a positive step. I will be kick starting my programme again next week when DCs back at school as things have definitely 'slipped'.

will be back later - out today for a meal as we are nearing the end of the school hols.

Gnomi · 22/02/2014 12:28

Ladies, I've bought a new set of underwear this week. Just a black set, nothing too fancy, but I literally cannot remember the last time I bought any. That's an outfit and lingerie bought this month, hooray!

Food-wise I've been doing ok, but we're going out for lunch in a bit for DH's birthday, so might undo a bit of the hard work I've done this week. Low caffeine and sugar are going well too.

My nails are neat, my hands are moisturised, and my skin is exfoliated. I've straightened my hair, applied make-up and am generally looking more than acceptable.

So thank you so much - the princessing seems to be working!

Welcome to Work. I'm new too!

How old are your kids Lucy?

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

HelgatheHairy · 22/02/2014 15:35

So after the high of doing my nails I've again lost all focus as I've found a stray dog and have taken her in for now. So add her on top of my baby, golden and cat and I've committed the cardinal sin of going to bed with my make up on!

Welcome work Smile

Style did you have a nice meal out?

lucysmam · 22/02/2014 21:15

Gnomi the girls are seven and four. Did you have a nice lunch out too? Envy of your new undies...dp bought my last set with himself in mind iyswim?!

Helga what sort of dog is it you've taken in? Are you and your dh recovered from the flu now? I hope your little dd managed to escape it. Are you still going to NYC?

I'm starting again properly tomorrow morning with a full face of makeup to nip to Lidl Grin . Plan a proper exfoliate/defuzz/deep condition/pumice feet in the shower then face mask & dry/straighten hair. Then sort my nails out. They might not get painted tomorrow but they will be neat and tidy if it kills me!

lucysmam · 22/02/2014 21:29

Helga I've just loaded your dog thread up on mobile site to have a look at the pics you posted....he's adorable (or she?). Are you going to keep him?

HelgatheHairy · 22/02/2014 21:35

lucysmam DD didn't get it as bad as DH and I but had a cough, sore ear and mild conjunctivitis. We're going to NYC 11 weeks tomorrow.

Little dog (female) is very cute but the circumstances really don't fit us keeping her right now.

OP posts:
lucysmam · 22/02/2014 22:01

aw bless her, I had conjunctvitis last week, not fun at my age so can't imagine what she felt like Sad

Shame you can't keep little dog, she's very sweet & looks to be enjoying the tlc from your pics Grin

55 DAYS TO GO

StyleOverSubstance · 23/02/2014 00:11

Hi Lucy, yes, meal went well, everyone enjoyed themselves but am feeling distinctly full now......

Well done to you Gnomi you seem to be doing really well and sticking to your plan and are now seeing the results. Am going to have to kickstart my fitness routines next week when DCs back at school - although am going to lose best part of one day with a hospital appointment with one of them and an opticians for me on Monday.

Hope you are now feeling better Helga you seem to have had a run of illnesses. Little dog sounds gorgeous - are you won over yet and will be keeping her or will you have to say goodbye?

Wont get so much princessing done tomorrow as will have to get all kit ready for school and start a major clear up as the house looks like a bomb has exploded in it - stuff of all descriptions everywhere. Suspect that will take up best part of next week. Have a great Sunday ladies, back soon!

Pollywallywinkles · 23/02/2014 15:40

Afternoon all.

I've had a couple of days of work and have managed to get some exercise in. Lots of walking, a lovely walk for a couple of hours at the coast yesterday in glorious sunshine.

This morning after a dip in the tub, defuzz, exfoliate and moisturise, I ended up gardening for a couple of hours. Not sure if my back will ever feel the same again and now I feel all grubby again.

I missed not having my little dog whilst we went to the coast and kept looking to see where she was whilst gardening this morning :-(

Aim to do my nails before the day is out.

54 DAYS TO GO

StyleOverSubstance · 24/02/2014 08:26

Afraid there wont be much going on here today, despite my 'grand plans' of starting on the big tidy up on the DCs return to school - because two of them are off sick! and so am I! We are all full of the nasty head cold the hairdresser gave us when I took them all for their back-to-school-haircut on Friday.

So sore throats, headaches, runny noses and eyes all round. No-one slept well last night for coughing, so on top of all that - tiredness...... I had an appointment booked today which I will have to cancel as they are not well enough to come with me, but I am not well enough to attend either, so am hoping if we can all dose ourselves up we should be able to shift it quicker.

I am declaring this an official Duvet Day!. Hope all well with everyone else - I know some of you are just starting half term this week as others are going back. Bye for now............

Pollywallywinkles · 24/02/2014 09:04

Oh dear Style, I hope you all feel better soon.

lucysmam · 24/02/2014 10:21

Good morning all Smile

style Sad always something! My small one has a snotty cold & I'm meant to have my smear tomorrow...that'll be fun if she does one of those sneezes where green snot goes everywhere Confused Duvet day sounds like a good plan.

lucysmam · 24/02/2014 10:27

Polly your walk in the sunshine sounds lovely Envy . It's grey and dull here again.

I had a proper pamper last night, face mask, hair mask, nails on hands and feet filed, defuzzed and moisturised, feet pumiced, hair dried and straightened. Nails to paint at some point when the girls don't want to do things all the time.

Off to put make up on shortly & drag the girls for a wander to Lidl for leeks to go in my stew & see what other non essentials we can find Grin

I've got a chest of drawers to move at some point today but might just fetch the drawers in and leave the rest for dp to move when he gets home (it's fairly solid, was made for me when I was about three & I've been desperately trying to find it somewhere to fit here so it isn't stuck in the garage).

I was going to deep clean the girls' room today but think I'll leave it until next week when they're back to school.

Have a good day all Smile

StyleOverSubstance · 24/02/2014 13:59

thanks ladies! have been dosing everyone up with calpol or in my case, lemsip as we are all feeling headachey. Duvet day and watching TV seem to be about as much as we can manage. Tried settling down with my book, but with eyes watering and keep sneezing plus headache, didn't manage more than a couple of pages I'm sorry to say.
Have a good rest of the day everyone!

Dilidali · 24/02/2014 17:25

Hello! Dinner is almost ready, but I'll come back to take some stock afterwards :)

ControlGeek · 25/02/2014 06:55

Apols for complete lack of namechecks, but lovely to see so many still working hard I can't believe we are half way through already.

Now that I'm back at work I need to get myself back into a routine, so I'll try to keep up with a brief ta da post each morning and hopefully build from there.

ta da
Up at 6am
Shredded
Teeth done
Lovely clothes chosen for work

to do
Strip wash
Hair to go into a gibson tuck as it's too fluffy and I won't have time to straighten it this morning
Full face of slap
Earrings and necklace
If time, clear nail varnish (had to chop all my nails off on Sunday because too many broke)

StyleOverSubstance · 25/02/2014 08:08

53 DAYS TO GO

StyleOverSubstance · 25/02/2014 08:15

Hi Control lovely to see you back on thread - know what you mean about getting to halfway point - seems to have flown this time doesn't it?

Not a lot of princessing going on here I'm afraid, with everyone still ill. Feel like I have a head of cotton wool balls, dizzy and alternating between being so stuffed up cant breathe properly and runny nose, eyes watering. TMI possibly? tackling sore throat by gargling with TCP.

DCs perked up again by afternoon, but were worse again in the evening and didn't sleep well, so am leaving them in bed this morning until they wake up in the hope that getting rest will speed up recovery. So suspect it will be another day spent watching DVDs or telly and doing not a lot else that requires much effort.

Have a great day.

Dilidali · 25/02/2014 09:35

Helloooooooo! It was a very nice and long dinner last night, then my friend called and we had a very long chat....
I am princessing today, that's the plan at least.

I've thrown a party a few weeks ago and tucked my vitamins 'somewhere' out of sight....last night I remembered I haven't taken any in ages! Nor did I have my lemony hot water ....because! So I need to get back on track with that.

I do moisturise and cleanse and apply make-up, but my skin is abismal tbh, I need a good facial, it's terrible spotty, those red painful deep spots. Been doing sudocream masks, although it works for a bit, it dries my skin quite badly. Any suggestions gladly welcomed.

I'm also going through a few niggling health problems, so haven't been able to up my exercise, I still do pilates and swim, but really I should take a break until my health comes back to normal.
Been very good at doing 5:2 though, I don't know what I have lost, but it feels like I lost a bit.

I am going away on a short break, only 3 nights, so I have been having fun putting a suitable wardrobe together. I am only taking hand luggage, (must remember to buy perfume in duty free) but it's near impossible: travel time about 8-9 hours on each side of the 3 nights, 24-27 degrees in the day, 10 at night, lunches with friends, formal meeting midday, attending my friend's art gallery opening the second day, informal party and quite possibly a very very formal dinner on the last day (I am working my way out of that, not sure how successful I'll be).
One thing is in my favour though: I get my hair and nails done when I get there and I stay at a really nice hotel, plus I know an amazing shoe shop. So the plan is..... Still very much in the air. I've got clothes for all these occassions but I can't take them all!
First world problem right there.

Off to take a hot bath :) the weather is miserable here!
