Hugs for Shop and Novice Flowers
So sad when a dog needs to go Sad

Glad your dd is ok Barbie

NoDrywhitepleaseeveragain · 02/01/2014 10:02

Shop my dear friend I'm sending you a big big hearty hug, it's not bad letting DS see you cry, it's normal that everyone should be upset about a good friend passing away. So sorry. Hope mrshop is going to be ok.

Barbie phew.....my DS is a browning pain....in the backside at times Grin

Novice can't say anything that will make things better! only that having met you and bonded over Nancy love, I consider you a good friend and I'm always around for support and a bit of hand holding Thanks

And finally......still not dressed. Is it possible to have a2 day headache hangover? DH wants to go for a walk as it's dry, think this may be the solution.

Oh and Queenc my Sindies and barbies (handed down with an impressive 1960s wardrobe, wish I'd kept it) were very well dressed indeed. I spent hours making couture gowns......shame ken's leg fell off and could only stay on with Sellotape and if he kept his swimming trunks on under hid DJ, spoiled it for me really Smile

Barbie1 · 02/01/2014 10:03

Maybe ask the mnetters in Portugal if they can recommend a local florist, guaranted fresh flowers that way not sure how you would order them though!

Sleepwhenidie · 02/01/2014 10:03

Oh and Queen I am with you on the bench Smile, DH very stressed about money, one business venture going very badly atm and looks like it may cost a lot, another person owes a lot of money, pending litigation by DH. It will all be fine but for the sake of DH's health I am going to be careful for a couple of months and shop vicariously through you lot Smile. I do of course have my birthday as compensation as well, so don't feel too sorry for myself!

Queen sugar is, IMO the hardest thing by far to quit, but also the one thing that is most worthwhile, especially given the stuff we discussed. Stick with it, I promise it will get easier Smile.

shopafrolic · 02/01/2014 10:10

Thanks Barbie for the flower tips - will take a look
Thanks again for all the hugs - you are all lovely. In the scheme of what some of you are going through right now it's nothing.
The hat and then Sindy talk reminded me that my grandmother used to make felt hats for my Sindy doll with a Sindy sized hat mould. I remember her steaming the felt and sewing bands on. Wish I'd kept them............

Annianni · 02/01/2014 10:11

Those who don't have sugar...

I've been eating more carefully these past few days and exercising.
But yesterday I made some delicious cupcakes with Ds2 and had some full fat coke, and I felt awful last night and woke up in the night feeling sick.
Has anyone else felt like that?

I feel ok today, just tired and sluggish.

Oh and Marsha please don't trim loose threads on wool items again! I winced reading your post :o

BecauseIsaidS0 · 02/01/2014 10:15

Anni, sugar is venom. I'm not surprised you are feeling poorly. I'm starting a detox tomorrow: no caffeine, sugar, gluten, tons of juices and smoothies and plain, "real" food.

MarshaBrady · 02/01/2014 10:21

Anni I know Blush it was the stupidest thing to do, tg I learnt on a £20 sweater.

Yes I feel very bad now on sugar.

shopafrolic · 02/01/2014 10:25

Did you buy from AR last night Marsha?

Barbie1 · 02/01/2014 10:26

anni yep, can totally relate to the sugar thing. I'm a sugar junkie Blush so when I started the 5:2 diet i cut it out completely. Couldn't sleep, headaches and a whole host of other things. I'm trying to wean myself off slowly this time.

MarshaBrady · 02/01/2014 10:27

No I keep checking it. I'm almost there on a couple of things but none of the dresses seem just right. I think?

I was going to call today to add the Maison skinnies but they're out in my size.

Annianni · 02/01/2014 10:28

I was watching Harry Potter tv last night and was craving crisps or crackers... something plain and salty anyway... But luckily we didn't have anything like that at home.

Would that be a reaction to too much sugar?

Are you ok Shop?

BrandyAlexander · 02/01/2014 10:33

Right, my long promised fashion post! I got this sweater which is lovely. I wore it on New Year's Eve during the day when we had dh's family over for lunch. Lots of compliments.

I am very meh about Alice + olive sweater. Dh likes it. I don't think it suits me as I am too short and looks frumpy. It's a returner.

This dress looks fab in the photo but I like like a granny in it. Too long. Plus it was £395 down to £215 when I bought it. Selfridges were selling it for £95 yesterdayShock.

I love this cashmere sweater by white company but their xs is a bit baggy. Not just the style but seems a bit big. (do white company normally come up big?)

My brother bought me these Carvella shoes in purple for Xmas 3 years ago. However, I was pregnant and my feet swelled to a 4. They are bit loose now which is such a pity as I love them. So glad to have got the black version in a size 3.

these dune ballet pumps are fab. Ever since my disappointment over the Russell & Bromley ballerinas, I would rather get some flats for 6 months, pY £30 for them and get new ones next seasonBlush

Then the PS13. I love it dh says he doesn't like it.Sad I am now doubting myself, damn him!

shopafrolic · 02/01/2014 10:35

I'm ok Anni. He's gone. DH is back. I'll be back on thread later.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 02/01/2014 10:39

Oh, and I love the PS13. Don't send it back, it's gorgeous!

BrandyAlexander · 02/01/2014 10:45

hugs to you and dh again Shop.

Oh thank you BecauseSmile I got the PS13 half price, so no way I am letting it go unless I am sure it's as bad as dh says!

Annianni · 02/01/2014 10:49

Love the WC sweater Novice
The dress looks boring.
Like the first sweater too.
Love the sparkly shoes and I have those Dune pumps in nude, bought at the end of the Summer sale. Think I'll wear them a lot in S/S, they seem very comfy [old knackered emoticon]

I like the colour of the bag, but not keen on the style (too structured for me)
But can see you rocking it with a fitted dress and sexy shoes.

Barbie1 · 02/01/2014 11:33

novice I have to agree with anni that although the bag is beautiful it's way too structured for me also. All my bags are classic boring colours so I'm quite Envy at the colour. Not sure I could carry that off. Maybe I will think about a colourful bag for the spring Smile

The white company does come up bigger in my option. I love the style of it though.

MarshaBrady · 02/01/2014 13:49

Novice it's a tricky and beautiful bag. But you can pull it off. Absolutely.

Bought a Marant check shirt, am very happy with it will pin when I get home. Hope you agree!

Shop hope you are both ok. It's good you have each other.

OneLittleLady · 02/01/2014 14:47

I absolutely LOVE the bag Novice I feel certain you can pull it off

MarshaBrady · 02/01/2014 16:32

Have pinned this Etoile Marant. And bought! Won't wear it done up most likely.

OneLittleLady · 02/01/2014 16:35

Lovely Marsha I think it will look better and less severe if not buttoned all the way up though
